I have used this knot for almost 100% of all my catfish rigs for awhile and I have never had one of these snell knots slip or fail.

Guess I may have to give this a try. Never thought about the hooks direction when being pulled. Makes perfect sense though.

I've tryed this a few times and simply can't feel confident in it not getting loose.my main way to Snell is with a knot from a fly tying book,want to say it's a whipping knot but can't recall 100% on that.its fast and once done I have to peel em off the hook with a razor blade.i like this concept,it is faster to a mild degree,but it seems like it can back off in the water.it isn't locked in other words.

Richard Peterson I certainly understand your reservations because i had them myself when I first started using this style of snell because it doesn’t look like it should hold. I can say from experience it will hold. I was thinking about doing a video testing it. Let me know if that’s something you would be interested in.
