I just got into bass fishing a couple of months ago so Im trying to learn all of the good techniques and styles of baits to use. This video was very helpful.
I'm gonna try this and get back to yall about it. Thanks for the Video!!
You're the man Tyson. Godspeed.
Can't wait to get a couple of these tied up in different lengths for the weekend! Wicked stuff!! 🎉
Definitely helpful thank you
Great video. Thanks.
Cool, thanks a bunch 👍
Genius
That was a good one 👍
this is stupid simple, i'm a convert
best to lubricate the hook knot with saliva or urine
This was actually incredibly simple. Thanks for the vid!
Good but are you not suppose to be able to alter the depth with the weight being free on a longer tail?
I learned this knot, from a Tuna fishing Video. I use it all the time.
Good video
Nice !!!
Took me a few tries but I got it👍
Beautifully simple! I really like the idea for the weight!
What is actually happening is you are introducing a circle hook effect. This is not "the best" knot for dropshot. It is one knot of many that suit different situations.
Well you gotta get people to watch somehow and it does work extremely well. Thanks for the insight.
@@tysonstightlines3082Ah clickbait. ☺ I don't disagree with it being a good knot. I use it myself. I also use similar knots for hair rigging carp baits. When I say similar I mean the line angle from the eye is the same. Creating the circle effect. But there are better knots for some situations. Sometimes I use a similar knot called a blood loop (dropper loop, standoff loop) that puts the hook free on a small loop. This gives the lure total freedom to move. Sometimes this seems to work well.
Nice.
I just started fishing ty for this
Thx for sharing because I haven’t tied one on in years
Concise and to the point! Thank you! 🙂
I add a drop of super glue to all my knots to lock them down.
There’s no way I just did this perfectly my first try after a long time…. I’m wowed! Thank you brother bout to watch your whole page I’m going large mouth striper and catfishing Saturday
Good point about the overhand. When you mentioned it I was initially skeptical, preferring a trilene. But makes sense. Kind of an old timer trick your uncle might impart to you. Much appreciated tutorial. Thanks.
already have caught a 30# Blue Cat off of these (going to try to get a 60#+ next year). czcams.com/users/postUgkxzXmlErSqVAEGWFEKO530BvTqFDw53QW3 Definitely very strong, and sharp. Additionally, the gap is wide enough to actually hook a fish (not always the case with circle hooks). I purchased the 8/0, but probably should have got the 9/0 (they seem slightly smaller than other 8/0 hooks). Additionally, having the point in-line helps if you drift fish. I have yet to get a serious snag with one of these hooks.
Thanks for sharing, this is a very good way to tie a drop shot hook. 😊
Have not fished in about 78 years, is this not acceptable for Fluorocarbon also? I know folks say that line is very picky as to which knots you tie? Thank you in advance, great video BTW
Great advice on the weight. I was wondering why you just hand tie it.
Thanks very helpful
Thanks for the tip bud!
Thank you for showing me 😁🔥🔥
I didnt try yet. But seems very good. Thank you!
That overhand knot with the weight at the bottom is super smart! Definitely gonna try this out!
Genius
Thank you
good video but 2 overhands for the weight dont wanna lose 1 every cast...
…. What?
Have you had any trouble with the line rubbing the eye of the hook & breaking fish off ? It has happened to me several times to me of late, costing me some key fish. I even upped line size from 8 to 12 & still broke a good one off yesterday ugh
I’ve watched 7 vids trying to see how to tie this and this blew every one of them out of the water. Thank you sir!
Thanks Tyson - great vid ! Is there a NAME for that knot or is it just called the drop shot knot ?
Thank you so much for this video
That was great. Thank you man!
Tyson thanks for the great video short and to the point. I’m curious how is the strength of the knot compared next to another knot, or where did this knot derive from. Thanks 🙏 I’ve been using it for over a year know but figured I would ask you cause no one I show has ever seen this knot before it’s very effective for me.
Going to try west point tomorrow morning.. trying out that drop shot,! Thanks brother
Thank you!
