I'm proud of you, your a good man. I have 15 yrs experience. Paid my dues. Work 4 days a week for a private fleet home Fri-Sunday. Make 100k and have a life. Stay closer to home and enjoy your family. That's what counts.
Good job Glenn, I did OTR as long as I could mentally stand it. I haul fuel for Circle K now home daily and I love it. In Trucking there’s no right or wrong pathway you just gotta find what you enjoy.
You’re 100% right on the overweight issue. Remember one time they had me pick up a load that was sitting for a few days without being picked up. After driving 80 miles to the nearest scale, 39k on the drives and no way to balance it out. Shipper claimed it’s the first time it has ever happened to them and Western claimed they knew nothing, yeah ok.
Good luck with your new adventures just to let you know you gave me the courage to go back one more time at my age hope to see you on the flip flop stay safe God bless truck on brother
Good positive video. It’s hard being a OTR driver for any company. Glad you made it 6 months at WEXP. It really takes a Strong mindset to keep going at a basic company. I’m A Flatbed driver at WEXP. I have been here going on 2 years. It’s been a war but the battle is won. I have 1 more year before I’m done with my lease purchase, then I’m going to lease on to a different company. But yeah, WEXP is just a company that will get your feet wet and get you your experience. Good luck to you Glenn on your future journey 🙌
Look much less stressed,GGG.Even though Trans Am gave me a chance they still werent good per se.Youll be much happier doing specialized,im headed that way after a,year or so.
Local is rough. But if anyone can handle it, it will be you. You might like it because the schedule. I feel you though. I've been otr for 15 years and I make now what I did back then, it sucks. The equipment, the people, the laws. I don't know what to do anymore. It's all my fault.
People do have different experiences i certainly did on the road. You Thank God you get through Safety and clock management is important i made plenty of mistakes. There are good companies i believe and opportunities . Glad you are doing well Glenn.
Glenn, you are the most honest and clear trucker I have ever seen! I proud of you and I m happy for you got new job! Congrats! I m still in my 2. Month with western and I really feel excited I can get better opportunities in future. You keept me strong, if I did not see your videos I would think I m alone in this unfair situation. Please keep sharing with us your experiences, thank you brother God bless you!
You would run your clock Glenn? So you decided to tell them you wanted to leave out at 3am or Ohh 300 Or 3:00? Lots of drivers would want that kinda respect But glad you escaped the horror
Damn! So what happens if overweight and driver returns to shipper to lighten load? Would WE fire or punish that driver with fewer loads/miles going forward? Not in trade, but seems driver has most to lose getting caught overweight, not employer.
The OTR lifestyle is not for most people. At one time, it was a bit better, but with all the regulations, the unhealthy food, and what most OTR jobs ask of a trucker only isolate you and then it tears a body down over a period of time. That's why as time passes most who stay look for a situation that gives one more home time! Wild Beard sold his truck recently. Glenn, I don't say much. I listen a lot, but if it's critical to speak up I'll talk! All my friends got jobs that offer time to themselves. I'm glad I got the experience from a time when there wasn't so many comforts. But the trucks weren't governed back to the point that not only hardly gave enough for self-care, but hardly enough time to bump the dock or drop a trailer! It's just so much that goes on in this industry that's not trucker friendly. Wild Beard posted so much that his vlogs showed up after I began to look at trucker YT channels. OTR Bandit's still running. He owns his truck and trailer; he's an 18 year veteran out of Missouri (Wild Beard's out of K.C, I believe.) Bandit deals strictly with brokers, and he stays away from the East Coast, and no California. He points that truck toward the house! Consistent home time's very important to him as well as the money. It's rough starting out; you must have a plan, and stick to it! Glenn, your experience will help, and already has, along with the awesome guys I've mentioned in my reply. I've learned myself and I want to see this work out for you. Stay safe🙏🏿 All the best, ~ "Smurfette."❤
I’ve been trucking for 12 years now. I remember when no one cared to be a trucker. As the years progressed now everyone wants to do it. It’s been a journey good and bad for me.. You will be just fine sir! Goodluck to you..🫡
Hey Glenn. I want you to try to interpret Leviticus ch. 25-27. It's about how systems corrupt over time and it's been going on since ancient Babylon. Hammurabi's code is the first mention a debt jubilee. I study system dynamics how empires rise and fall and I love what you do. I was a truck driver for many years and one day I was told I was no longer needed. I lost everything. It's been the greatest thing to ever happen to me. Leviticus ch25-27, the year of the jubilee. KJV preferably..
Go to ffe. Regional position out of burlington nj. Steady work good pay and home every weekend. Just a transition job till you can land something permanent
You couldn't make it at Western Express and you honestly think you'll make it as a local driver or an owner op... I'll be along for the trainwreck I guess
He made it for six months at that shit stain of a disrespectful company.....which is a helluva lot longer than most could. Don't be a hateful dickhead pessimist.
Now why would you slander or discourage this guy for wanting to do better for himself? If Western express is so good, Please give us a Blow-by-blow video of your journey with them every day. And I'll be along for the ride... How's that?
Western Express is a piece of shit company that doesn't care about their drivers. He made the right choice. Key word being choice. He didn't get fired, so for you to say he couldn't make it work is a bad statement. They chose not to take care of him along with many of their other drivers.
I’m not even a trucker, but a lot of things you talk about impact me. Like others have said, this chapter of your life has come to an end. But God willing, you still have many more chapters to live. I’m sure you’ll do great and may the best chapters of your life be coming along next. I’ll still follow you to see what kind of stuff you can get into. Lol. Take it easy for a little while, get your bearings. See you later. 🩵

You seem pretty relaxed Glenn. Good for you. Take some time!!
I believe you needed to learn from this experience and good luck in your next chapter. You’ll be closer to family which is important.
Wishing you all the best Ggg! I start my flatbed career next week, and I'm excited about it! I'm praying for you and your new position.
Congrats! I'm glad you found something you're excited about. Risking your CDL for overweight freight is BS! #RaiderNation brother!
Best luck with your new lane driver.
Me too , I'm starting a job driving for bjs, I got a few days off before I start
Enjoy your new gig, dude. You earned it. ✌️
My old neck of the woods, Middletown, MD! Well wishes and prayers to you! Can't wait to see your new adventures.

The overweight thing is real. I’m at a mega that does reefer and all the loads I pick up that go to the rail are over weight. It’s wild
