Also, the C6Z is the most beautiful since the C2 and the 3LZ interior is even nicer than the one you drove - Good review overall! 👍

I have a C7 supercharged M7, with kooks headers and xpipe, B&B exhaust. Honestly, a C6 is more fun to drive. I'm selling it and getting a 13 427 Vert :)
When you think about it its kind of a good thing that most of these were owned by old men that drove these 35 in a 50. They are easier to find in good condition because of it. I can pick up a C5 for around $20k in good condition. I hate those people a little bit less now that i realize this.

You can get a 24 year old C5 for $20K.....hopefully. Since the best that you can hope for is some successful person's 20+ year old hand-me-down, that's your best hope to ever own a Corvette. But many C5s have manual transmissions, and you don't know how to use one of those, so your choices will be limited. Although by the time you have two nickles to rub together, such cars might be outlawed. Sad that living in mummy and dada's basement doesn't allow for even cheap, old used cars. They're just not free. Now run along and go play more video games little boy. We hate you a lot more now.

Yes it is more thrilling because of the 6 speed but also because it's a lightweight car and just more raw in general. In my opinion the exhaust note is still one of the best sounding to this date. Nothing sounds like it. Vehicle looks wise, you'll get compliments from males and females of all ages. This car is def a keeper. The ls7 is amazing.
I agree the exhaust is awesome. I put a "mild to wild" jumper/remote on mine. Happy life and a happy wife, lol. Best stock exhaust I have though, is the quad exhaust on my Boss 302 with red key. Downshifting is super addictive :-)
Hey great review. Never driven a z06 but i'm fortunate to own a c6 and i understand your feedback. It's super easy to drive, until you put you foot down. For me, the base car is plenty to have fun. Would be interested to see you take out a base C6 and see how it compares. By the way, @VelociDad pretty much nailed it. 505hp doesn't sound like a redicilous amount until you realize youre in a car that is more like a Miata than a Challenger. When I was growing up working on cars, 100 lbs = 10 hp. Feel free to do the math, but long story short this car has been faster than most modern day cars aside from exotics for a hot minute. At least, within the price range.
I’d rather have a heads/cam/headers C6 Z06 than a C7 Z06 & I’d rather have a cammed/supercharged C5 Z06 over a C7 Z06 too….other than a ZR1 or maybe a grand sport as a 2nd sports car…for the $$$ it really makes no sense to get a C7 & just go to the C8 w/ the DCT & mid-engine design. If you put a C5, C6, & C7 up on a lift & walk underneath you’ll realize…..other than exterior panels/tech they’re all very similar. In fact in many ways a C6 is a “C5.5” there’s alot of interchangeable parts- sway bars, axles, diffs, trannies, etc. the C7 Z06 has major cooling issues, which is why the ZR1 variant has FOURTEEN more coolers. For real. The C6Z is weird to drive b/c the TQ curve is so flat & broad you don’t FEEL like you’re going as fast a clip as you actually are many times.
Cross talk and understeer at the limit suck, and they’re loud as hell when you start throwing parts at them. They are raw and unrefined. The shifter linkage is a garbage design that gets loose with time and is a pain to get to. The seats don’t hold you in the turns. The LS7 tight gaped rings can’t take boost Etc. Don’t know if you’ve traded for it yet but I doubt it unless you truly love to be in control of something purpose built for the track. I have a love hate with mine but when it’s in the boost, or making me dizzy in the turns, there’s not much else like it. First thing I’d do if I did it again would be yellow stuff brake pads and R888Rs day one! It became what it should have been once I did that. Blower and motor be damned.
You make it sound like it's a prehistoric the engines is the best engine GM ever made including today in fact probably better it doesn't matter how old something is it doesn't mean it's inferior this engines Superior to even the c8 engine the only reason of cars 0 to 60 better is because the engine is placed in the rear of the car however top speed this car Superior to even the C8 Corvette
The C6 Z06 was made from 2006-2013 so this car is from 2013 at the newest. Bare minimum, it's 8 years old. That's two generations corvette old. Whoever owned this car, never drove it. It just sat in an air conditioned garage for the past decade +/- while they walked past it in their bathrobe to get the morning paper. It's even still on the original tires (which absolutely should be replaced, that's dangerous, tires do have an expiration date believe it or not). But think about it. Someone ordered a brand new corvette, went through all the paperwork and hassle and said, "Well, that was enough for me." and let it sit and sit and sit. And after a decade or so, traded it in for a new one which will more than likely also sit and sit and sit. Incredible.
Go to BAT auction if you think this is bad..No one I mean no one drives there cars...I don’t get it...They are just lucky now that the pandemic screwed everything up and these cars especially the ZR1 are priced really high...
Got a 2008 C6 Z06 at my local Chevrolet dealership in really great condition looks like new condition with 56k miles on it which is a good amount for 41k but seeing as how it looks very well kept no scuff makes or anything and has driven 56k miles with no issues hopefully I’ll be driving home a C6 Z06 tomorrow on New Years Eve!
I got a 2008 C6 Z06 in Victory Red with 30k miles at mine around the middle of last year. The only scuff I noticed was a small cut in the steering wheel leather at the bottom underside of the wheel. I have never been more thrilled with a car in my life.
Nice review with better tires the driving experience would be a lot different. With those old run flat tires it can give the illusion that the car is too loose. I would loose traction in 3rd gear easing into it while stock. But with some good tires i hook in second gear with 200 more hp.
Those stock tires are downright dangerous to drive on especially with their age. My 09 got almost sideways from speedshifting 2nd to 3rd on a flat safe road years ago with the factory Goodyears. Michelin super sports fixed that problem. Have toyo r888r tired now, best mod for these cars
Yeah, that caught me by surprise. My knee-jerk reaction was that it sounded evil/ psychopathic. I've watched a lot of his videos, though, and he's never given that vibe before. I think it just comes from a lack of maturity/ wisdom that almost all millennials possess.
I sold my c8 last week and picked up a c6 z06 a couple days ago. In two days I’ve had far more fun than I had in a year with the c8
