I loved “lost and ground” that was the icing on the cake
Thought the exaxt same thing!
Nah, that was the froth of the coffee.
Florin Jurcovici gotta have a good grind to get that crema
@@bytesabre True that. Unless the old grinder Laura started with isn't extremely worn out, it should have excellent consistency, not heat the beans up at all and achieve any grain size you want. The sheer massiveness of the mechanism allows for less play than in cheap small grinders.
Streusel on the coffeecake
Laura Kampf: "I'm out of ideas"
Laura Kampf literally next week: "awesome mad scientist coffee grinder"
This ^^
@@CondredgeDole what about it smh
Abso hahahahha lutely true!!!!
Gi mn ☺️
For metal working projects like this, you need a "LET WELD COOL" sign to stand in for your "LET GLUE DRY" one!
I have basically the same grinder. Says made in west Germany. When my folks left their house the wood was left on the wall so I am missing the of backing wood. I made a new thick wood backer board for it. So cool to see another one! Mine is in Australia.
We need James Hoffman's review on this coffee grinder!
Yes! Yes, we do!
James would cry..
@@tomaspotucek7232 James would *try* (fixed it for you). He drank almost 50 year old coffee...
Lets be honest, that grind would make him throw up.
😂
Thanks for minimal talk and very instructional video with great music.
Now we need to see the making of a coffee roaster.
And a professional grade espresso machine.
One of my bucket list builds :)
I nearly jumped out of my seat when I saw this "Luchs Messbecher". It gave me a sudden flashback to my childhood. This object could be found in almost any kitchen in the 50ies and 60ies. THIS really tops the whole project! All thumbs up :-)
I'm not a coffee drinker, I've no skills for making things with hands, but I've loved to watch the video, it's so chill and satisfying !
Hhh
Hi Laura! I love the fact that you brought this back to being used and I love the quote : repair, reuse, recycle which is something which I am a believer in but a lot people today when something is broken don't bother to repair just toss it away. Thank you for sharing this with us. Have a good day!
I watched this entire video and when it was over, I found myself smiling a big smile. I don't even know why, it just made me smile.
Very nice result! I have to remember the trick you show at 5:00 it is really a very nice way to know the location for holes on non transparent material.
Hhhh gitu aja
In the; "Looks Cool" department, I was doubtful, but you pulled it off and it actually does look very cool! 1/3 craftsmanship, 1/3 fabricator, 1/3 artist.
Lost and Ground, so witty and perfect. Fun project, and useful!
I don't know why...but watching that small length of chain go round & round puts a huge smile on my face. What a great project. 😁
Lost and Ground, absolutely fantastic. The finished product has an industrial/steampunkish look. You are a genius.
If anything was to get me trying fabrication and electronics... it would be coffee! 😊👍
I love it.
It's a vicious cycle: the coffee inspires you to do the fabrication and electronics, and then the fabrication and electronics inspire the desire for coffee.
Hehe
When I grow up, I want to be like Laura! Love the name plate! Thanks Laura.
I always enjoy watching your ideas come to fruition but this one was next level. So cool. Thank you for sharing!
That tape trick to transfer hole layout!!! Amazing!
Retro Steam-punk version of a coffee grinder!!! Excellent!!!
Some TV production company should hire you to design technology for a show set in a post-apocalyptic world. Man, it would be an awesome set full of Laura Kampf goodness!
Very nice design. The reuse of a wiper motor as a gear-reduced rotational source was genius.
I appreciate that you often hide the flash from the weld. Great photography. Keep up the great work
Wow. what a pleasure to watch. you gave new life to a broken coffee grinder, and what a magnificent technicality. Just great !!!!
Ahhh, the ever versatile windshield wiper motor. Thank you for the video.
The "masking tape/hole template" idea is absolutely brilliant!! Subscribed!
Wonderful!
This could almost be called a "steampunk coffee-grinder"!
It has that kind of look to it!
Insanely resourceful ingenuity. Not sure why tears of joy came seeing it come alive again. I love coffee but this was special. Above and beyond. Simply put, well done.
Would be nice to hear the sound of the coffee grinder 🙏
You can find it on her Instagram
Be nicer if you didnt comment

Lionel Burri I am disconnected from Facebook. Laura mentioned in her Patreon podcast how quiet is it. That’s why I curious about the sound 🤗

@5:12 : I learned a new way of transferring bolt patterns. Thanks Laura.
Love the soothing music in this video. You always use really nice, soothing music in your videos. I appreciate this so much, thank you!
Love the use of the famous Luchs measuring cup. This is the one item I remember best from my mothers kitchen when I was a kid.
You, are amazing! :) Bringing old things back to life, love it.
I really love this build! The end design kept me guessing until the end, and that square glass grounds holder is the business.
omg the aesthetic.. and the functionality too!!!!!!!!!!
genius as always❤️❤️
Laura! How can you keep getting better at this?! You post that you're out of ideas, and follow up with this!
These videos that you put together are nothing short of amazing. You are so talented, and I feel so lucky to get to follow along. Thanks!
Hehe
You continue to impress and I love your focus on upcycling materials. So awesome!
An amazing combination of dirty, clean, and beautiful. Great work!!
Your videos are one of the few that you watch from start to finish.
You are probably the only one who can say, "my coffee grinder is from Mercedes"
I saw the bike chain and I said, this is going to be amazing!!!
Really beautiful result!
Great idea Laura, you should make it a regular feature to do periodic videos that have exactly the same idea of taking broken trash and remaking/upgrading the device!
BRILLIANT idea Laura, thanks 🙏 for sharing this with us.
Brilliant! Absolutely love it. Thanks!
Laura this is brilliant!!!
Talk about upcycling old rubbish...this is a definite nobrainer especially if you love coffee ☕ 😋 as I do!!!.
As always 💯% 👍🇬🇧.
This is probably one of my favorite projects I’ve seen Laura Kampf do. Wow. Just fantastic!
The look of big mechanical thing but it’s so compact and clean. Another awesome build
Way to keep those Creative Juices Spinning Laura!!!! Keep Up the Good Work and Never Give Up, Because You Can Just Keep Spinning Up AND Brewing Up: Some New Idea's. Oh and I knew you weren't done yet; So, Bravo! Bravo! and Bravo!!!!!!!
It gave me chills each time you wiped your hand across a part that you had just drilled, my hands would have ended up cut and bloody. I was skeptical before watching this video but loved how it turned out in the end - great job!

Was für ein wunderschönes Teil!
Love it. Stealing the masking tape trick! The exposed chain gives my clumsy fingers some anxiety though :D

Definitely my favorite build of 2020
Awesome and that’s using the noggin’! TY for sharing! You always empower me to think outside the box!
You are an inspiration Laura!! Thank you for sharing.
The best inspirational videos of how to keep the imagination alive
And here I am sitting here drinking cheap instant coffee :P
This is a hell of a cool project!
ohhh this was so easy on the eye. Top marks for the build, the filming and music. Ovation!
*LOVE IT!* another beautiful video, much thanks.
This is one of your best videos yet - design, function and how engaging it is.
That’s a trash to cash project! Beautiful work and creative solution!
Another great project. Thumbs up - thanks for posting.
Probably my favorite of your videos in quite a while, Laura. Really inspired! Well done!!
I can't even with the design! Super awesome
Coffee/ making stuff. Combined! Doesn't get any better than that. 😎
The videos you make 🎥🎞️😍 I literally love everything about them. The problem, the (lovely crazy) ideas, the progress and the finished worked. The way your "curly" brain comes up with great solutions, the music and the lightings in the videos. It's just pure anti-stressing wellness for me 🤩
Thank you Laura! 🤗
This is a tiny piece of industrial art. I love it! Thanks for sharing!
You're so creatively ingenious! Every video you put out is a pleasure to watch.
came out super . Thank you Laura !
Outstanding build, thank you for sharing. 👍👍👍👍👍
Love the style. As always.
The wind shield wiper looks like it’s for a 747, which makes me think that Laura took it of in-flight with her Leatherman.
Now you are back in the saddle! Love the grinder!
This is awesome as usual! So creative! I freaking love coffee!
Amazing this came all from scraps. Love the guard plate details, adds a great finishing touch!
This video beautifully portrays your impressively extensive skillset. Kudos Laura!
Genius, you are so full of ideas! Little bit of a Steam punk grinder! Wish I had 10% of your talent.
I like it very much. Especially using the old Messbecher as hopper!!
Ain’t nothing like a great cup of coffee on a cold day .
This one has that extra super sweet coolness on top of everything else you make!! LOVE IT!
Absolutely love your repair and upgrade projects, they're so ingenious. Also, love the nameplate element that shows off your "graphic design" style which is so unique and which I find very aesthetically appealing.
Sensible y cruda recuperación!
Maravilloso. Es una obra de arte.
I haven’t watched one of your videos in awhile and I don’t know why. This was brilliant and relaxing and the reason I’ve been subbed for awhile. Thank you :)
Absolutely awesome! I love it!
Amazing! Impressive! AND what a style! Love this restoration work!!!
The colorgrading is awesome. The music too. And the project on top :)
The spirit of this grinder is perfect. Next visit to Koln it would be a pleasure to see your work.
That's the coolest thing you have made! I love it!
Excelente trabajo!!! Cuida tus manos! - German - Montevideo - Uruguay
Amazing. Looks fantastic.
I want one in my life.
Almost has a steampunk feel to it. I love it!
Mmmm! Coffee! Great project, as always. That vice seems like a good candidate for a restoration video.
What a beautiful video and a even more beautiful product.
My nose instandly reminded me of the aroma of fresh ground coffee when you switched it on.
Love it! Very fun to watch and a great result. The faceplate with the inscription really adds a nice finish to the whole machine!
Being a big coffee drinker myself Laura this build made me smile , its Awesome i would have it on my wall no prob well done 😍😍😁😁👍👍
Laura, that was simply awesome, taking and reusing items like you did. You are an inspiration to me, keep doing what you do.
Lovely concept, execution and video. Thank you.
I love this channel so much - awesome project!!
Awesome artpiece and awesome job as always Laura!!
This is great on so many levels, nice way to thing outside the box.
