- This concept behind this video is simple: build an ultra powerful PC with the NVIDIA RTX 3090 and Ryzen 9 3950X in a 7L Sentry 2.0 ITX case. For reference, that's a PC about the size of an Xbox Series X and more compact than the Sony PS5 size. While there are still some optimizations to do, but it works and its AMAZING.

Guys CAN'T WAIT to push more out of this system with some cool mods we have planned but we want to hear from you too. Post your suggestions. 👍👍👍👍
custom cable sleeves and some noctua 40mm fans

Video title is missing an apostrophe. Should say it's instead of its.
11:25 i think you are better off deshrouding the GPU and put in 120mm case fans, I can't see if there is room for 25mm but other than that noctuas thin ones and exhaust out of the side.
Potential 40mm fans dragging in air from the top. (This could be the other way around , but this way it wouldn't dump anything down to the CPU)
Can someone confirm total price of build?

Like - 5 to - 8 or lower
That’s actually a great idea, only I’d be worried that wind might blow debris into the enclosure or rain or snow might fall on it. So maybe build a box for it? But then again, you can just stick it in the basement or garage.

Damn never thought about it but it's true! The level of work put in on the ads is identical to that of the main video, it's not jarring at all, especially compared to some sponsorships where people just read from a script.

Great set up, I would suggest making some perforation for ventilation on the side panel on the back of the GPU, allowing the hot air to escape and also have the option to install the Nvidia RTX3080.
Finally, a video including the 3090 model I have!
Great video, and I'm glad it's turning out better than expected. I hope it works out as a main PC and I'm looking forward to the next video!
Woooo!
Oh look, a mini-heater! :D
The EVGA RTX 3090 XC3 PEPE!
FYI, pierogi is already plural, so there is no need to say “pierogies”. They are awesome!
Yes, also they don't call their potato pancakes latkes. Latke is a Yiddish word, which is common in North America because Jewish immigrants are common here. In Poland, they call them placki ziemniaczane.
Pretty similar to Macedonian "piroški".
A perforation on the case at the back of the gpu would allow the founders edition to get basically perfect airflow without leaving heat inside the case
There's something to be said for these mini cases where the component fans directly cycle ambient air from outside the case vs. Bigger cases that are fighting hot air building up inside the case.
An enthusiast with a drill press and a lot of patience should be able to pull this off
I love this idea. Just drill some holes! However, as GN showed, a lot of air gets dispersed to the sides with the passthrough fan, so you might have to actually make a funnel to ensure the air goes straight through.
@@aednichols or a cnc machine. A small one should be more than enough
@@ChaosTheory666 I'm looking forward to seeing what it cases come out that cater to the FE models. Personally someone needs to do a gpu direct mount to the side panel and use the panel as a giant heatsink along with funneled exit area for the flow through design.
I was waiting for this exact video to show up someday, but not this soon! I can now rest easy knowing that my case can support even a beefy RTX 3090. 😌

Just respect the guy for the way he greets. Good People. 🙏😊
The 3080 Fe should run cooler since it exhausts some air outside, but I need to modify the case by adding holes for air to pass through on the other side
man that case looks so satisfying with how compact it is,the lack of any proper fans or filters looks scary though
This build is awesome. More
Went to Poland last year for 2 weeks. It's a great country. Learned a lot and has beautiful cities! Highly recommend!
This is the second time I thought I clicked on an Optimum Tech video. 😂
Hi guys. I’ve watched your video when it was published but I just went through it again after doing some research.
I may have found a case that solves most of the issues you had with the Sentry 2.0 case. This case is the Sliger Conswole CL530. The stand doesn’t look as good as the sentry stand but here are my findings:
1 - Eco mode: the CL530 is slightly thicker so you can use cpu coolers up to 75mm (e.g. Noctua NH-L12S). It may not be enough to cool a 3950/5950x but it could be enough for a 3900/5900x.
2 - RTX 3000 FE cards: the CL530 is compatible with up to 3 slot cards and the panel behind the GPU has vent holes. Therefore, the new FE cards would be a good match and even the FE 3090 would potentially fit.
3 - GPU hot air build up: using an FE card, most of the hot air would be exhausted towards the back and side. Any remaining hot air would rise naturally and exhaust at the top. The CL530 default orientation has the GPU at the bottom but by looking at some of the photos, it looks like the case can be inverted.
I hope this helps!
Polish case ❤
3080 fe and make holes to the opposite side for the gpu to exhaust, with this setup you get both gpu fans intake clean air and exhaust outside with almost zero negatives.
I too have a silverstone psu if you pull the cables apart they are easier to deal with the just zip tie them together
This can be perfect replacement for firepit during winters
love mikes enthusiasm ! his positivity is contagious . can't wait til im able to buy a 3000 series card !!! great video guys
Guys ur cpu heatsink is exauhsting hot air right onto the ram, so the heat builds up. I suggest using noctua l9i with am4 bracket and orient it parallel to ram
I feel like you came over from r/sffpc. If not, we welcome you.
ah yes, yet another video of an amazing itx case that I will never be able to find in stock outside of $500 on ebay :/
It’s pretty much a node 202 which is super easy to get hold of
Triple-slot GPUs _are_ possible, only if the cooler were replaced with a watercooler. This makes the 3090 FE one of a few possibilities for this, as the card _by itself,_ without cooling doesn't have any connectors which mandate it being a triple-slot card. Once watercooled, the 3090 FE can exist in a single slot. With a thin res and rad it's possible to wholly watercool the system in the space of 7 litres.
This literally makes me want to make an ITX build just like this. Never have I ever wanted to build an ITX build before,. I guess my bank balance can thank you guys!
ITX builds are both a blessing and a curse. they're the biggest pain in the ass to build but when you're done it's super cool having such a small form factor. good luck man!
Nice video guys. The insider info provided from actual issues found after parts were already installed is what I found very useful. I really wish more youtuberz would highlight these bumps in the road your average person will run into. Great insight and much appreciated!
Thanks! I think we'll do it with more builds.
I would love to see this built with Zen 3 and RDNA 2
Take off the shroud of the GPU and put decent Noctuas on there, but orientate them to pushe the air out. Same for the CPU, push the air out. Giving the case an overall negative pressure. And yeah, get rid of as much unneeded cable lenght as possible...

Everyone: We can't get any 3000 series GPU !
CZcamsrs: Lemme show you several 3000 GPUs I got for free!
I suggest the ITX case Formd T1, you can put triple slot GPUs and slim AIOs at the same time. It's also made from CNC aluminum, build quality is as good as it gets.
Pierogi
I wonder how many people actually stay this long to know what you're talking about :D
The perfect computer for harsh cold winters.
I thought they didn't allow NSFW content on YT. My god it's gorgeous.
Also: Eber, that photo you posted on Twitter is clean AF.
For even better CPU thermals I would suggest the Thermalright AXP90 Copper edition. It will fit the 47mm of CPU clearance and give better thermals than your current setup.
HardwareCanuck: "the performance increment over the previous generation is just incredible..."
Literally Even Fermi: "lol wot ?!?"
For thermal improvements you can use 40mm fans above the GPU to exhaust air. As well as using a 3D printer duct on the CPU cooler to stop turbulence against the side panel.
Sleeved custom cables also a must.
"3090 that EVGA sent me". Clearly EVGA just wants to piss off their customers at this point
if you type in 3090 into search on youtube and count, there are at least 100 rtx 3090 that youtubers have been sent free.... not trying to make a point, but the ones they send free dont really interfere with supply chain... of thousands
@@rocketssss6 At this point I'm just fed up with all 3080/3090 videos. I could have been satisfied with... like 5 (?) of them.. maybe. I really don't see the point of hundreds of videos about these GPU:s (that I can't buy). There must be something else to cover for these channels that is still related to PC tech. Needless to say, I've unsubscribed to many channels just the last couple of days, including Hardware Canucks.
This case a little longer to accommodate a radiator for the CPU would be awesome to keep full CPU performance while keeping slimness
Wait this isn't Optimum Tech
The Alpenfohn Black Ridge cooler would probably have been a better choice given the heat output of the 3950X. With VLP memory installed, a slim 120mm fan can be mounted beneath the cooler, and the whole assembly is right on the 47mm height limit of the case.
11:24 speaking about modifications
how about perforated backplate gpu side of the case with FE card instead? Air goes straight through the case making it as close to the open bench as possible
Or you can flip FE card over so both gpu fans will act as case exhaust fans
Just FYI you can tear apart single strands on those flat cables for a better fit. Always helps me
Or even use a hair dryer as a heat gun to fold and route better.
This is really my dream desktop
Finally! a console that doesn't look like a wifi modem or a weird speaker
Love the fact that I got the notification for the video while watching it
Love ITX, thanks for this video!
I don't think you mentioned on how loud it gets... Is it a jet engine like the PS4 Pro xd?
HE actually answered that in one of the other comments asking about noise and he said it was fine. It would have been better to just show it in the vid imo.
My case is smaller 8P. I took some steel and welded a computer case together with a bent sheet metal cover to make it look super smooth. It's the same height as a waterbottle and length too and about 3 inch width. I7 4790t 3.9ghz, r9 nano, 1tb msata, 1tb m.2, 1tb hdd, 16gb ddr3 sodimm.
All the custom cards look so bad IMO. (And what's with the red accent on some of them)
Haha then you should wait for the upcoming amd navi launch
the gaming x trio looks good if you're into rgb and theres some ones more meant for blackout like the msi ventus or asus tuf
Asus tuf and strix ones look okay imo
Asus tuf looks like it got ran over by a car
wish the founders was less bronzy though and more silver
such a great design, it's simple and very functional!
You know, i love my PS4, i love consoles in general, but after seeing this....i mean, Sony and Microsoft make these huge presentations and a big deal out of consoles, and then this guy comes and builds an amazing looking “Console” that practically puts to shame anything coming out of Sony or Microsoft. Freaking scary lol
And then you realize this rig costs at least 6x as much as a console lol

I think it's still impressive what consoles are capable of at their price point, which is why they can be a big deal. Of course this $2000+ machine will outperform in any form factor. I do still enjoy watching videos like these to see how compact the latest hardware can be assembled while retaining most of the functionality.
Add small 40mm noctua fans to the top(exhaust), and stop them getting fresh air from side vent holes using some piece of plastic or paper. It should help with removing hot air from GPU.

If you can't cool the CPU, you failed. This video is just for headlines, not because it's a good pairing.
Shorter custom sleeved PSU cables are a MUST for a build like this.
I can't wait to see a bunch more of these when Navi2 comes out that has way better power efficiency

I love the director of photography of this channel!!!
GUYS!!! the video starts at 0:00 your welcome :)
This the real hero 👆
I appreciate it man. Hard work out here😂
CPU cooler: alphenfohn black ridge low profile cooler. It's design for Dan a4 sfx but it should work with your setup. Just check the dimensions on the Asus io plastic shroud. It might interfere. You can also put a 120mm slim noctua fan on the black ridge if you have a VLP ram with no heat spreader ( stock is only 92mm slim). I have a 1800x on a l9i with amd convertion bracket (L9A is not yet available when I bought it) and it's not enough although I don't have an Evo mode. The black ridge can cool it.
GPU: maybe some noctua 40mm fan on top as an exhaust. The can move air and not too loud. You can also remove the backplate shield on the GPU if it's removable while the pcie screw tabs remain on the card. Also undervolting ampere will yield 3-5 degree drop without changing the max boost frequency.
if the case was matt black ... MAN ! it would be amazing also it needs more ventilation holes
You could always paint it yourself
Well Sentry 2.0 comes in grey (the one in the video) and black, so you are lucky( if you have 230 € to spend on a case).

Great job guys! I have the case, please push it to the limits.
Though you are not using the full potential of the CPU, it would be interesting to have an optimal CPU.
More importantly the noise of that setup has to be insane and that is a key information for my upgrade decision.
I am playing on my TV up to 4k (30fps).
It would be interesting to see if some 40mm noctuas on the top of the gpu would help
I saw the thumbnail, didn’t even looked who uploaded it just assumed it was optimum tech and clicked on it and saw eber and was like wtf XD
Hw canucks has been doing this style FAR longer than that guy. He basically just copied it from them.
Not bashing his videos, but credit where credit is due.
Noctua offers fans in 40mm size. Maybe you can fit them obove the GPU at the top, do a cutout there and put in a mesh or something like that to blow out the hot air
I have the first gen of the Sentry and I absolutely love the case. It makes it easy to bring along and I highly recommend for anyone that needs a sfx case that fits in a backpack.
How much does it weigh? My Sliger SM560 is sitting around 15lbs/6.8kg.
@@zoomzabba452 My rig with a Gtx 1060 weighs about 13.5lbs/6.1kg. It can be a bit much to lug on your back for continuous time, but for a 30 minute walk, I can bear it. All I need to complete the small setup is a portable monitor, but those are just too expensive for me.
I like it. Looks like a gray cable box. I want it!
Create perforations on the opposite side of the GPU compartment. That would work best with the RTX 3080 flow through section. Double sided perforations FTW.
Hi, i am an Architect and i wanna build a slim pc like that. This design's, Has it performance difference according to big case pc ?
God I wish this this would be a buyable prebuilt
Instant Thumbs up. Love it, but it has it's issues. When I was just about to leave, you said: "It's made in Poland" - that's where I come from, interesting. Great video guys! Thanks
That mouse commercial though :D :D well done!
Maybe you could separate the flat cables into the individual strands. Like taking a razorblade and carefully start to cut the insulation between the cables themselves and hopefully you can carefully pull the strands apart. But you need to be very carefull to not cut into the cables themselves of even create a short. But this way the routing would be much easier. However I have never tried it with these exact cables and I would only try it, if i had a second pair of cables :D
Overall it is a really nice build and I am a bit jealous :D
This is definitely a case where custom sleeved cables with custom length helps a ton.
I think it's more the task of Autodesk experts who track airflow simulations, but it seems pretty obvious, whichever way you open up perforations will likely reduce the temperature. The air wants to go out. Likely some of the air hitting the polka dotted metal panel is being deflected at less than normal angles. So it is pushing the air alongside that face most likely. So openings at the edges of the structure, meaning near that face's corners are likely the best spots to make micro-perforations that get the clashing air out.
Or maybe polka dots for the entire face to make the design logical.
Perfect space heater for this upcoming winter
You can fit 80 or 90mm fans in the area above the gpu to help with the exhaust
Just a suggestion because I've seen many vids ft these kinds of builds...it's always the top of the line specs packed into a tiny case and while that is awesome to watch, can you guys try and make a 1000$ build either for gaming or content creation, but in a case like this? Is it even possible?
Drill some holes on the back of the GPU, go back with the founder's edition and try to reverse the air flow of the CPU and drill some holes under the case.
So, you get a tiny PC and a bread toaster at the same time! That's a win-win!
i was thinking of selling my Sentry ITX 2.0 case but this made me reconsider
You could've used the FE card, the flow through fan would've just exhausted hot air through the side ventilation.
If anything the triple fan EVGA card would put more heat into the case because it exhausts heat up and down
I guess you can add noctua tiny fans on the top of the GPU section to draw the air out, however I do think adding some extra holes on the back plate of the Dr. Zaber case - particularly the backplate of the gpu case, will have really good results, even better than just adding tiny fans on top of the Dr. zaber since not every GPU size will allow tiny top fans. It will just allow the GPU cooler to draw air by itself and passive exhaust from the back and top.
You might want to flip the cpu fan around so it exhaust the hot air straight out of the case, worth a try
With those feet, and the red power button in the center, I think it needs an "APERTURE SCIENCE" stencil on the side.
...."This was a triumph.... I'm making a note here, huge success..."
