Man, poor Liz just can't catch a freakin' break.
This is kinda tricky , the body that was shown in the box (whomever it belonged to) was holding their hand up as if they were covering their face , now joan was covering her face from the dirt and rocks (which also caused a crack in the box) and keep in mind she was buried "alive" not dead so she had a good hour or two before she ran out of oxygen , so assuming she did not escape did she really keep covering her face for an hour?
Maybe she was crying into her sleeve? :'-( I'm guessing she would've passed out and then actually died, right? Is that how suffocation works? Kinda like when you're asleep, her body probably would've moved around a little. Then rigor mortis set in and that's, I'm assuming, why it looks like her hand is hovering above her.
Brahma Rahma I'm unsure if writer's thought out decomp stages of the corpse much. When unearthing, they were covering their nose as if it smells horrible. How much time was to have elapsed? We would need specific details. With the teeth and eyebrows it reminded me of Bea. As for the arm, when a body is decomposing, releasing gases etc it will bloat and unless her arm was jam packed (Joan was able to lift enough to use the lighter to see Bea's drawing) then likely gravity would have caused it to fall. Yet who knows with WW anymore lol.
Prophetess of MeoW exactly , they were covering their noses so she must have began to decompose right? Meaning if she did hold her hand up it would've collapsed but it's clearly away from the body's face .
If this was some kind of foreshadowing they really messed it up
the cracked hole on top of the box looks big enough for a hand to go through. it may be that she put her hand through it. but to go out from the top of the box does not make sense, since they went inside through the short side, and the side panel was closed with staples from the inside. she started on one of the staples as the dirt fell in from the hole, you can see the scissors in the last shot beside her head.
grey 7 yes that's one thing to point out , when she was screaming in season 5's ending the scissors were in the shot ; hinting to their part in her escape but still , what can scissors do to a human sized wooden box?
Marie will find out about ritas sister killing her son, then she will get drago to kill her then rita will kill drago in revenge then rita will get put inside.

I have a feeling Marie Winter could be behind the stalking for some reason. Those dirt files she mentioned. Plus she’s probably also got dirt on Jackson due to their affair as well so this is even more dirt on them now. I could be wrong however but it’s just another theory.
I agree. I like this theory better than the more common Turk or Murphy theories. I think it sets up a good potential for Kaz and Will to become close again. Will won't keep connecting w/ Marie once he finds out she has been spying on him.
Jordan Lee, agree she slept with Will & likely figured out he killed Ferguson. They were both grieving yet Will did not lose anyine. Likely she's seen how some act after a first kill.

Then Kaz saves Liz, and tries to give Marie Winters a taste of her own drugs. So Marie is quite the killer. Just like your innocent next door neighbor. If you have one that is.

I don't think there'd be any point in Marie killing Liz. She'd just convince everyone that Liz is rambling due to dementia... Either way I suspect this season is the end of the road for Liz. I just hope she gets as nice an ending as possible.

It is doubtful, but what about Office Murphy being involved? She was set up by Vera for allowing Bea to exit through the back door. Also officer Miles is always lurking around and the two of them were friends. Jake also met up with Murphy at the start of series 6, when the two of them discussed Vera setting her up.
Am I the only one who thinks it was Maxine, Bea, Or Jess in the box? If so it could mean Ferguson or Turk or even Officer Murphy was recording. Or they could of worked together to frame Vera, Jake, and Will.

SHANE. Makes sense in so many ways. He is THE link between Ferguson and Jackson, and knew the stuff about Vera and about those crowns since he was in contact with Joan.

Honestly, the corpse is not identifiable. It does resemble Bea somewhat. I've no hope in WW writers. However it would be ironic if Joan escaped, and dug up Bea to put in that shallow grave's box. Especially after Allie put that drawing of Bea facing Joan in the coffin. Unlike Doreen, Bea would have no family to report her grave disturbed (they are all dead).

At this stage I think the producers have deluded themselves into thinking that everyone just hates Ferguson. It doesn't even occur to them that she has a fan base.

One has to wonder why they keep ploughing through their powerhouse characters while leaving boring drivel like Allie alone... This show is done for at this rate. Bea gone. Franky gone. Sonia gone. Liz will be gone by seasons end too. Kaz is still as boring as ever. Vera's character makes zero sense now. Marie Winters doesn't hold a candle to Jacs. Rita is verging on becoming Bea attempt 2. What are these writers doing??? No wonder season 7 is the end. I have to wonder what the cast will all be doing for another 10 episodes? Oh, I see. All the other characters will just be twiddling their thumbs uselessly while Allie (the Swiss Cheese of the series) get's to sleep with her next unfortunate lover. *yawn*
they are wrapping up stories because S7 is the last (widely acknowledged at this point unless a miracle happens).
Wrapping up is fine. Good even. But they're making a dog's breakfast out of a lot of it. This season has been too slow and just...kinda pointless. Why is Allie still there anyway....? She offers nothing to the plot that couldn't be filled with someone else.
Allie is tied to the Marie/Ruby line, they need some kind of ship after Bea/Allie and Gidget is gone, it's like fan service, i am not invested in that.
new characters take time to fit in and flourish. Rita feels goody 2 shoes since she is revealed as an undercover detective, but we see her flip in and out with Marie every other week, somehow Ruby is conveniently tied to Danny, Marie's son.
Boomer hasn't got much to say or do this season with Maxine/Franky/Sonia gone. Vera is not as interesting without her sparring with Joan. Kaz agreeing with violence again seems to go against her character after all she's been through. anyway it's like watching paint dry, the old cast are really just waiting around for the new storylines to tie in and Ferguson's story to wrap up.
The shipping fan-service in this show is beyond ridiculous. Allie should've just died after the hotshot. She is the most boring and irritating part of the show for me. I don't usually hate characters...but I really, really, really hate her. And she ruins all the characters she interlocks with. I could write a novel about how much she has ruined this show for me. lol
The convenience of Ruby being tied in with Danny is painful. And now Allie has her finger in that pie too (no pun intended).
I miss this show being more like...the inmates vs. the officers. That feeling seems to have gone completely. Vera bitches at them every now and again but she is so out of her depth it's embarrassing. Does Vera even DO anything anymore...? Remember when Joan used to stalk around the prison, no doubt looking for prey? Use your damn legs Vera. She just sits in her office and whinges all day. How is she still Governor? They should've brought in a fresh one for this season (or heaven forbid, promoted Jake) and demoted her. That would've put a bee in her bonnet at least.
I wonder how many of the originals will be in S7...? I can't say I'm that invested in it, given after 9 episodes of this season, I've failed to feel attached to any of the newbies...

Well thought out theories but I'll bet my sack it's officer Murphy in cahoots with Jake. When Vera accused Jake of being the stalker he had to throw Vera off the scent so he had Murphy throw the brick through the window when he knew he'd be at work and have Will for an alibi. He'll use the photos to cover his arse but I can feel it in my waters that someone will murder him. Not sure who though.

Joan is dead. It was definitely her body in the box. I am devastated that this is the case. I was hoping that she would had made her way out and for the box to had been empty. But it wasn't to be and I'm not going to be in denial with conspiracy theories that it's someone else in the box. The hole in the lid shows she obviously tryed punching it, hence the hand up front on the other. The black mark on face could had been from the lighter. I think Brenda Murphy is the stalker. The police will be informed of Ferguson's body and the stalker is going to sent the photo to Vera. Also Pamela Rebe has been in the UK recently whilst season 7 was been filmed a few weeks ago.

The thing is, it still hasn't been officially confirmed. On the WW twitter page they are still asking (as of 8 hours ago) "Is it really the Freak in the box???!". Bea fans weren't taken for this ride after their fave died. Why us...? Furthermore, pretty sure the hallucinations are coming to an end now too. Will seemed to "banish" her this ep and I suspect that's the last of her. Cause...you know...mental health problems like that are so easily fixed. Lololololo
If I had more faith I'd envision a scene where Joan comes for Will. He arrives home, late one night, from a hard day of work. A figure stands in the shadows in his room. 'It's a hallucination' he thinks. "You're dead!" he spits and tries to ignore it, as always. But this time...he is wrong. Dead wrong.

Prisoner is a timeless classic. Whether Wentworth withstands the test of time remains to be seen...
Brahma Rahma, agree, Prisoner had hundreds more episodes. Wentworth could have done a much better adaption.
I mean, Prisoner probably had a much smaller budget and really had to rely on scripts and characters to get by, hence it was able to run longer I guess. There's quite a few things I wished Wentworth hand handled more similar to Prisoner. Would've loved to have seen "Jake" more of an evil presence - he was a rapist in Prisoner wasn't he, and he pushed someone down the stairs, can't recall if he killed her... Ferguson is the biggest let down for me. Prisoner Ferguson had more emotional setbacks that were worked through - such as her father and girlfriend. Plus there was at least one time I can remember where she actually rescued a prisoner from getting raped. That's the Ferguson I wanted to see. Wentworth took her too far in the crazy/soulless department. I think in the end Rabe is the only one who had compassion for the character.
Brahma Rahma Prisoner had a smaller budget, was highly controversial in the time period and was beyond it's league for the time period. In this day and age, WW has sold us out and drew the short straw. So many characters have bern ruined. By what appears to be sloppy, rushed work by writers. If they drew it out longer for the characters, not just building depth, going somewhere with that and the plots which is not nowhere. Ending in the unknown, or deaths, or for the sake of money, branky twice happily ever after. Unrealistic. A forensic shrink gets sloshed at work since her inmate girlfriend is cheating on her with..Allie! Who else? Westnull has duty to warn; failed. Franky gets away with Meg's murder, and the Asian girl who was muling drugs.
How come all the Asians in Wentworth are in for drugs? As if they aren't capable of killing or other offenses? It's gotten old seasons ago.
Wentworth, you have failed us. If you don't have the budget to keep main characters or a very large fanbase (that of which you do not favor one over another or keep baited), then don't make stupid moves killing off characters people enjoy. You aren't the walking dead. Fans are not disposables. Learn something, albiet too late now.
1947tangoandtwist So true and makes me sad that the writers/producers actually gave Joan depth and emotoed to us and then just switched. Same with many characters and it's beyond a character being "changed" by the show's plots. It's a rushed, sloppy job. As if they are pressed with a time limit. Since the end of season 3 things were rushed, including Bea's story line. They really don't have the budget, and seems they bit off more than they could chew. Too many good characters left due to shoddy pay. Return of branky and Joan baiting this season shows the desperation for viewers. They would have done better to keep their Joan promises or at least confirm her death and not act like a rigged craps table.

Surreal Self Music, if an actor isn't in the show they shouldn't be on the credits. When most shows "lose" an actor, they are taken off the credits. Not sure what Wentworth is trying to pull.

M7md Playz I wouldn't say it's the worst season but it's not as hot as the others because it's missing Bea and Franky
I'd hardly call the other seasons perfection. Wentworth has been on a downhill slide since S4. They introduced weak characters (Kaz, Allie, Jake) into a character driven show and the writing suffered as a result. Now it's all 2D villains and shock value. None of the heart wrenching magic exists from the first three seasons.

I don't care that they killed Bea. Good riddance. If only they'd taken Allie with her. The writing just took a severe nosedive after S3 and became too blatantly unrealistic (and pretty deplorable really, such as those rapes that were handled so disgustingly, simply so they could exist as shock value). Joan's character was ruined beyond repair by the third episode of S4, so the fact that S5 "centred" on her does not impress nor excite me. I wish she'd died in the fire compared to her treatment by the writers in S4-6. She should've stayed in the psyche hospital from the start and just Hannibal Lecter'd Vera. Being buried alive with no remorse is the icing on the cake really. And yet we're still supposed to see Joan = ABSOLUTE EVIL, while Everyone Else = Never-Ever-Ever Do Wrong Angels. lolololo The writers shot themselves in the foot with this character and did the original a great disservice. Pamela Rabe is the only brilliant thing about Wentworth's Ferguson. Without her S4-6 is unwatchable.
