- Wir fliegen einen LOC/DME auf die RWY 18 gefolgt von einem Circling auf die RWY 36 in Calvi (LFKC) bei schönstem Wetter. Zum direkten Vergleich seht ihr einmal die Sicht aus einem echten A320 und das Gleiche noch einmal aus der Sicht des MSFS 2020. the only things that is missing in the sim is the bird crap on the windscreen and shaking at touchdown. Now I can go back to living in my virtual world and know that it's better there. great video.

You forgot how in real life, scenery is not as crispy clear and vivid. I would prefer real life level of details. But it's impressive to see how details MS FS2020 already is.
there's FSRealistic for the shakings
FS doesn't do a great job with average haze / lack of definition and its variability at distance through the atmosphere. It's often much more of a struggle to spot the airport in real ops. Conversely, a lot of detail near and on the ground that we take for granted when flying isn't present in the sim. I'm not saying these are bad faults, just the realities of sim complexity.

@@DJBillionatorDCS has good flight models but doesn't come close with scenery, and you can't really compare the two because DCS is built around actual combat, while MSFS is more for just flying around in civ aircrafts

I have MFS2020 and it's a really good simulator. The only problem is that I feel that they could have done better with the cities, but hey, at least you can now get upgrades to those cities in the MFS store.

Incredible graphics from MSFS. I hope they fix the vegetation issue in MSFS, it renders vegetation as trees and just looks like the amazon everywhere but otherwise, it looks very realistic even though it's in permanent summer. Hopefully, the season's update Asobo is working on will address both issues.
Digital Combat Simulator doesn't over populate with rubbish.
@@DJBillionator DCS is completely differemt - these areas are curated by an artist and don't feature the types of technology required to build a digital twin of the earth. Having said that the MSFS world really is something to behold. I've spent many an hour in the Nevada Test and Training map and the MSFS rendition of Nevada with FlyTampa's Vegas scenery in VR is just spectacular beyond belief - much more so than the DCS rendition.
The problem with that idea of yours is that you would need a heck ton more of computational power instead of loading the same basic tree model that does not use up a lot of your graphics memory. I agree that this scenery looks to generic but i understand the limitations as well because MSFS already needs a high end PC to run so imagine adding that computations and Memory usage to it...
4K Skyrim and higher wouldn't be possible (at least not smoothly) with PCs from the time the game was released so please keep that in mind. So this will come when something like a 3060 is the most used card in the steam survey...
@@mastex5575 I think a fairly simple solution would be adding maybe 10 more trees (differing in sizes & species) and randomly generate them using lan & lon coords.
this would be done with azure servers, though honestly, I feel like something like this the clientside can handle as well.
@@kopazwashere You are right that it wouldn't take much more with 10 different Species but please Look at your VRAM when playing the Game and See how much is used If You have VRAM to spare then good for You, but not everyone has over 6GB of VRAM and for those people it looks Like that.. and of course Microsoft couldn't be asked for more Options to "enhance" the scenery...
I guess it will be a DLC or an Update. If not than it will be done by the Community... Like better looking airports that are already buyable

Ich möchte auch einfach mal Danke für die Einblicke sagen, die du uns bescherst. Mein erster Flug war mit 3 Monaten (im Gepäcknetz der KLM) und bin mit meinem Vater viele Meilen geflogen, die meisten mit Lufthansa. Es ist für mich absolut spannend zu erfahren, was vorne im Cockpit passiert(e) und schaue sehr gern deine Videos. Zwar hat es zum selber Fliegen bei mir nie gereicht, aber so geht ein Stück Traum in Erfüllung. Danke!

Wow, einfach Klasse. Die Tatsache, dass Du oder jemand die Erlaubnis hatte, das aufzunehmen und mit uns zu teilen.
Man sieht, das die Dimensionen in MSFS kleiner sind, die Geschwindigkeiten aber auch langsamer wirken. Sonst unfassbar, wie realitätsnah es ist.

Ganz tolles Video und toller Vergleich (erstaunlich wie nah der SIM visuell und von den terrain textures an die Realität kommt). Zwar ist der FBW noch gut entfernt von Study Level, aber du (und Toni) zeigst, absolut sympathisch und anschaulich, was schon alles prozedural geht. Gleichzeitig macht es sehr viel Spaß dir und euch zuzusehen. Infotainment at it's best! Clear skies, ein gutes und gesundes neues Jahr und ich freue mich, wenn ihr zum einen wieder mehr fliegen dürft, zum anderen aber auch immer Zeit findet, so tollen content zu machen.

Was sind denn die Haupt-Kritikpunkte am FBW und gibt es da eine Entwicklung? Also welche Maschine kann ich nutzen um zu sehen, wie der Stand ist?
@@ChristophDressler64 LNAV and VNAV (being worked on; LNAV is already partially available on the dev and experimental builds), default Asobo model (the entire aircraft is being remodelled, inside and out). Remember, the FBW is an *open alpha*, so it only makes sense that things are still missing.

Ah, was about to post.... that's the big dif to me too. A rough runway would make it more simish to me. Great sim though and love traveling the world.

Absolutely fantastic, great job.
I'm very impressed by the accuracy of the MSFS scenery. It seems though it displays a slightly wider angle than the real view.
A slightly different focal length on his camera could make it a better match.
I'm baffled by the wizardry of it. Are they somehow taking geographical data from databases to generate most or all of the landscape and land features, or is this all drawn by hand and pieced together. Or can they take similar photographic data like Google maps?
@@PhilLesh69 It's Bing maps but yes, basically that last one. Pretty much the entire planet has had its topography scanned now, as you can see on Google Earth and other 3d maps and this takes that data and the terrain textures mapped to it and streams them into the game (if your internet drops out or is too slow you see autogenerated generic textures instead)
The clever part is the game samples the pixels of those textures and works out what parts are buildings, roads, trees by the colour and shape so you see autogenerated buildings, often in the correct shape and in the right place. What this technique can't do though is determine the height or style of the building so you see a lot of office blocks instead of farms- or big grey concrete looking boxes instead of warehouse or stadiums, and churches in the UK rarely appear in the right place. In some places (usually cities) these are replaced by hand or by accurately scanned versions of the real thing (lidar, photogrammetry etc).
Another issue that you can see in this video is that the AI often can't distinguish between the pixel colour of a tree, bush or shrub so you tend to see far more trees in the sim than there are in reality.

Im MSFS fehlt in diesem Fall eigendlich nur Tiefenunschärfe und Reflektionen auf der Scheibe :D

Die Sichtweite ist schon vollkommen in Ordnung, nur der Sehwinkel (FOV - field of view) ist ein klein wenig unterschiedlich, aber der ergibt sich nunmal aus Abstand von Auge des Betrachters zu dessen Monitor. Dieser FOV wird aber oft viel zu groß eingestellt, somit ist der hier gewählte Wert schon sehr passend, wenn man bedenkt, dass ja ein 48"(!) Monitor verwendet wird, welcher durchaus einen recht großen Sehwinkel bieten würde, bei gleichem Auge Monitor Abstand.
Einfach himmlisch die Aussicht und Landung. Bleib gesund und guten Rutsch ins neue Jahr.

Es gibt ja definitiv noch ein paar Sachen die wichtiger sind im Sim worum sich gekümmert gehört, aber die Vogelkacke auf der Scheibe würd ich echt feiern... lach... Aber im ernsthaft jetzt. Als jemand der noch vor ner Woche mit Fliegen so gut wie gar nix am Hut hatte (ein Flug EDDM/EDDK Als Passagier vor Jaaaahren und wieder zurück ist alles) bin ich durch deine Videos aber mal sowas von in das Thema gezogen worden, Sven. Tolle Idee und Umsetzung. Real Life kennt keine "Pause Taste". Da muss alles passen! Schön nach zu empfinden. Diese geringen Abstände zum Terrain....bbrrrr 😳
Ja, auch für uns eine Überwindung ins Terrain hinein den Sinkflug zu beginnen. :-)
@@capta320 wow.... Ich liebe solche Anflüge... Wie gern würde ich soetwas life erleben. Im Simulatore als ich vor vielen Jahren noch sehr viel Zeit hatte, übte ich mal mit einem Freund ONLINE mehrere Stunden den Traumanflug in Honduras .... Darf ich was fragen? Braucht man für solche (ODER DIESEN) Anflüge eigentlich eine Spezialausbildung oder ist dieser Anflug eine "normale" Prozedur?
Und eine letzte Frage, der Anflug ist doch absolut auf jeden Moment getimet. Ist dieser Anflug gefährlich und wenn ja, warum? Ist es als Pilot nicht ein "genieserisches Entspannen" so einen schönen Anflug abzuarbeiten? Ich finde den Anflug traumhaft....

@@lauschendelippen-thiskanal1070 Für solche speziellen Anflüge bzw. Airports benötigt man eine spezielle Einweisung im Simulator bevor man dort hin fliegen darf. Ich würde nicht als gefährlich bezeichnen aber man muss schon wissen was man tut und was nicht. Bei solchen Anflügen gibts auch relativ enge Grenzen was das Wetter und den Wind angeht. Bei dem Wetter macht das total Spaß. Bei gewittrigem Wetter oder böigem oder turbulentem Wind hingegen wird dieser ohnehin schon anspruchsvolle Anflug noch anspruchsvoller.

So crazy that you can tell which is the fake because it actually looks better than real life and not worse. Obviously the shaky camera and hand give it away but wow, honestly super impressive.
The shaking on the landing needs some improvement, and the over green vegetation as mentioned, but apart from these issues this game is super realistic and a marvel to watch. An amazing game the least to say !

Danke Sven für das geile Video ! Die Sicht im Flusi ist viel schöner als in der realen Welt. Naja mein Display wird auch nicht von Insekten zugeklatscht ;-) Aber ehrlich, Samos ist schwieriger anzufliegen als Calvi ? Bin noch nicht lange mit den 32 FBW unterwegs, beim zweiten Anflug auf Samos ist mir dank des Gebäudes mit dem grauen Dach was Richtung Piste 09 steht, die Landung trotz Seitenwind ganz gut geglückt .-) Morgen ist Calvi dran ! 🙂
Danke und gern geschehen. Die Frage nach dem was schwieriger ist kann man nicht so einfach beantworten. Aufgrund der geografischen Gegebenheiten ist Calvi für mein Empfinden noch anspruchsvoller als Samos wo man jederzeit einen Fluchtweg hat.
