We never got Earthbound, Chrono Trigger or Super Mario RPG in PAL regions, we'd have gladly traded you The Firemen for it.
@Most Deadest Pool of em All. Very tempting, for all the forced nostalgia Nintendo has over here, were were treated like absolute shit in Europe.
I salute you, Brit! Too bad Squaresoft only released Final Fantasy Mystic Quest and Secret of Mana! 🇬🇧 😭
Hello you! Yeah, PAL kinda got screwed in general, but I think the biggest gem you got that the US didn't has to be Terranigma. Such a great game 👌
At least you got Poppin Twinbee
And Terranigma
I just tried playing the Japanese version and can explain the weird "put the castle together" sentence at 3:50. In Japanese, it says "カーソルを合わせる" (ka-soru wo awaseru), which should mean "place the cursor" (on a room sign to investigate details about the various rooms). The translator likely mistranslated "cursor" as "castle" and couldn't make sense of the rest of the sentence, thus breaking the fourth wall and actually implying to the player that they can't help them because they themselves have no idea what it's supposed to mean. FYI I guess
Dang.
Wait, so in Super Mario, Princess Peach actually was in another Cursor all the time? :P
It’s amazing that the snes got 2 fire fighting games tbh. The fact that they both take a different approach is also commendable. It was great when developers had to think outside the box.
True. Wished#fuckonami would make a new AAA Firefighter FD18
Both in the same year too
Snnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnhave a great rest of your day, man. Love your videos!
Thanks for watching mootbooxle
Video length: 300 secs.
SNES Drunk sound length: 8 secs.
2.666667% of the video was listening to "SNES Drunk."
suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

Another great video! This is one of, if not, my favorite channels on CZcams. I always stop what I'm doing to watch a new SNES Drunk video.
Thank you for watching
Channels like this should be considered national treasures
I remember picking this game up as a kid. It was in the bargain bin at a failing video store (SO many of those back in the 80s/90s). Like many other kids, firefighting was a badass thing to me. And a game based on that? Sold!
The slow, strategic method irritated me; I was supposed to be charging into the fray and putting fires out! But making mistakes like at 4:22 (which I'm still convinced is a Gotcha! moment), made me rethink that. I did enjoy some of the goofy Gotcha! though. Like putting down a fire to reach a victim, only to realize it was a mannequin.
It was interesting to learn that different extinguishers are used to put out fires. I rode my bike to the library to verify it wasn't something to emphasize inventory management. So there was a BIT of edutainment value to it. Yeah it amounts to little more than firefighting sim, but a pretty good one.
I wish more people these days played all the good old snes games when games were actually fun and made you use your imagination there like books. Love your content by the way thanks for the video
Thanks for watching Dylan
that's one of the things i liked best about 8- and 16-bit games, the fact that the graphics were more symbolic than literal and you used your imagination to flesh it out a bit more. when you pulled off awesome moves within the mechanics of the gameplay itself, it FELT really cinematic. nowadays those opportunities are usually replaced with quick time events that trigger a short cutscene that is identical for everyone who plays the game and is seen dozens of times in a playthrough. i find it sort of robs me of the use of imagination.
Convinced me to buy another one. SNES Drunk you're a monster.
This has always been one of my favorite games on the Super NES. I bought a physical copy a few years back and still play it every now and then. This is definitely one of those "hidden gems" in my opinion! Thanks for another great vid!
Hey dude. Thank you so much for continuing to put out two amazing videos each week. They really make my day each and every time. Have a great day.
Thank you for watching as always Reagan
Great video man . You do a great job with the content. Have a great day dude
Thank you for watching William
Thanks for the review SNES drunk, The Ignition Factor looks like fire! 🔥
Thanks for watching Lenny
It sure does. It's like I'm inside a fireball right now!
Thank you for the review and I hope you have a wonderful day as well.
Thanks NNick
How awesome, a game I've always wanted to see you do gets released on my birthday!!!
Enjoy the rest of your birthday
Jaleco was a long underappreciated company. Yeah they weren't as good as Capcom, Namco, or Midway, but they made some pretty good titles. Chimera Beast is good, nihilistic fun.
It's good to watch SNES Drunk videos first thing in the morning, so the rest of your day will be good
Only 4 seconds into the video and I will preemptively say it is.
This game is amazing.
Oh.
Uh...
UUHHHHHH...
I like turtles
This is one of those games that I would always see at the video rental store back in the day, but always overlooked because of games like Actraiser, Gradius III, and Super Castlevania IV, that grabbed my attention. Now I feel bad for not checking it out sooner.
Love this game! Bought it at Funcoland back in the early 90s and still frequently play it. The levels are so varied and there are some really interesting challenges, like protecting workers while they remove fossil panels at a dinosaur theme park.
great summary of the game man thanks!
Great video! I'm also a huge SNES fan and when I ran into your channel I was amazed seeing so many obscure games that I though nobody knew from. Do you know by chance Sugoro Quest? Have you touched it?
Okay I am going to chase this one down. Cheers and thank you for telling me about it. -J.O.
That classic Snesdrunk intro never gets old! =D
Firefighting is all about kicking down doors, so remember not to carry too many items.
Even though you get the same effect with your axe, making it kinda redundant
Never heard of this game. Looks fun. Great video!
Thanks for watching Karsten
Man, I wish I'd heard about this game when it was first released! Looks pretty good.
More content! You're awesome!
More to come Michael
I used to rent this game so often back in the 90s, I’ve always liked it and I got great memories of playing the game on the weekends
This game is so hard 😭 thanks for this, I love your videos!
Hahahaha that intro amazing!
This is the second fire menu coversI forgot pin on your channel for a couple months now I don't know how many you covered before I subscribe to you
I’ve had this game in my collection for years and never new it could be that fun to play! I’ll have to get out my system and give this game a shot.
Just WOW!
Thanks for updating my SNES-brain!
5:00 firmware update complete.
I remember playing that as a kid but could never remember the title, thanks!
Now that you mention it, I must give The Firemen another shot. I went pretty far with it some years ago but didn't beat it
holy shit, I had to play this game like 5 years ago (like I had no choice, because reasons) so I'm glad that you of all people are the first major youtube personality to finally review this game. but I guess you didn't unlock the actual final stage where you go into a secret government facility and fight aliens?*
also I always liked how apparently the translation team had little or nothing to go by, I'm pretty sure the firefighters in the US version are actually just the US developers being confused af.
*aw shit, I realize that sounds extremely coincidental to current events, but believe me the final final stage has aliens in it, I just forget how to unlock it.
best part is always seeing how youll intro SNES drunk
Used to rent this sucker all the time back in the day, it was so different.
Downloaded this on the Wii VC before it closed down. I remember reading about it in NP magazine back in the early 90s but games were a lot less accessible back then.
I was the 995 vote...love this channel and the work he does
"This is one of those games that goes for a sense of realism."
Suddenly civilians, standing perfectly still, calm, and unscathed even though they were just literally covered in fire.
There's also an instance where you have to collapse a ceiling to expose a hidden room the floor below it in which a CEO is trapped on fire. Just "what kind of office is this?"
Love the channel, love the videos. One small nit-pick: it's pronounced JAL-eco, not JALE-eco.
It turns out that a buddy I have IRL is a big fan and has also watched all the reviews. I am trying to convince him to become a Patreon too.
And it's coming to the Switch Online Service SNES december 18th 2020!
This game is super cool, I love it!
Yay, it is on the Switch now!
Oh man, that intro. I totally want to get in on these fireman games. It's like mowing - there's something strangely cathartic about something so basic. I'm subbed to r/powerwashingporn on reddit for the same reason.
I'm currently playing it! Only thing that bugs me is the lag when you switch screens, makes you make a lot of mistakes
Why weren't more games top down? You could do a lot more with that than side scrolling.
Didn’t seem to show off graphics capabilities as much. Smaller sprites, no background skyline or mountain/city scape.
@@pungisotu apparently games were *always* all about the graphics...
Never heard of this game , looks like fun though !
I know you covered at least two fireman games I didn't know they had games like that well like them I should say but they look pretty good though
Please get a theme tune. You deserve one. You do great work which would be made better with a catchy theme tune, imo.
i think the "ssssssnes drunk" is more than enough
I don't think I've ever heard Snes Drunk talk about Mystical Ninja for the Snes, I loved that game
Coming to Switch Online!
Ann and Nancy? Do we have some Heart fans at Jaleco?
The Firemen repro cart is the way to go. I like both but Firemen is better imo.
Looks fun
seems to be a very interesting game.
You're wrong about this one.
This games amazing. It's what inspired me to become a firefighter.
NinjaWarriors for next episode? (its a damn good game)
It really is
If memory serves me correct there is a secret mission that has some weird purple monsters or something. I haven't played this in years.
There is. I think the level is a reference to the peace keepers. Another jaleco game that is mentioned at the end of this game.
Oh yes ignition factor you covered that one I forgot the name of that
SNESdrunk went all out in the intro 😅
This is quickly becoming my morning fix.
There is a secret mission from the peacekeepers also made by jaleco. I could never get into this game as a kid. I wasn't much of a strategy person back then.
Are we being conditioned to accept a 5 min video that's just snnnnnnnn?
Because it's working.
I played this while working at a fire station.
Ahh I remember renting this baby I had fun
Well, I got a game to try later today.
Never heard of it and it's not on my hacked SNES Mini either?
I liked this game.
Was today's SNESDrunk drone mimicking the droning in Towering Invernfo for Atari 2600? Cuz that's all I could think of hearing it.
I don't think so. The Atari 2600 more has a sort of biomechanical sound of sorts when I listen to it.
I always wanted to play Burning Rangers but my console was stolen before it released :( This looks kinda cool.
Found this game after I hacked my WII. Just going threw all the snes games and came across this gem
I would play both of them to be honest with you they both look just as good but in their own way
After watching this video I can now count the number of fire fighting games I know of on two fingers. TIL!
Great vid, as always👌
Would you make one about World Class Rugby, please? Or rugby games in general?
If you enjoyed The Firemen and The Ignition Factor, look up "Firefighter FD18" for PS2. It's got a lot of the things you mention in this video, a corny Hollywood-worthy story that you could almost call a sequel to Backdraft, and there are even boss fires to put out at the end of certain levels.
That game sucked
Plz do a list of mech games
Unless you already did then I would like to request a link
I have this game, I dont have the patience for it though lol
This game just got added to Switch online library.
LMAO 🤣🤣🤣🤣 That intro bro!
This channel is fire...heh get it? I'll see myself out.
Could never get into this one, The Firemen on the other hand is one of my all time faves.
Want music? Just play the Contra soundtrack over it, that'll make the tone of the game interesting.
Still awaiting the electrician sim...
I tried this game and it felt really clunky. A lot of quality of life issues regarding menus and controls and I really, really wanted to like it because I enjoyed The Firemen so much. But I was immediately turned off by the menu system which has you using a mouse-like cursor to select things and the confusing UI and the really awkward run controls. I'm gonna give it one more go but, man. Kinda rough.
Nice intro. Went on just long enough
Thought my Damn phone was frozen.
2:48 naked lady appears??
The firemen has cooler sprites tho:/ I’ve been trying to play the ignition factor, but it’s hard af… and I suck at games like this
Seems kinda like Tenchu but firefighting instead of ninja-ing
snnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnesdrunk!
this looks kind of like zombies at my neighbors
Pretty sure some of this footage is identical to what Nintendo put on the NSO video today. You all using the same source?
Fuck man. I've been playing the Japanese version in my childhood and never know it had an English version... Fuck me...
And now this game is on snes online a year and a half later.
