      I mean he kinda? Was, Hitler feared the position of power that the zionists would ultimately go on to have, but his method of delaying the inevitatable (or so to speak) was messed up. But what's more is that Hitler didn't actually kill the reportedly six million Jews, his army did. He convinced other people to do it for him, making him no different than let's say the government. He might personally have killed a few of them, I don't know for sure, but if you were to compare it to the amounts of wars that the government had initiated, then it's but a drop in the ocean in comparison. Not to mention that WWIII is also currently looking to be a thing, and apparently the government of course had something to do with that, too.

      @Despize Perform You are not understanding his point. His point is that if you hire 50/50 you will be hiring less qualified people and your quality of work (in this case of engineers) will go down. This is what happens when there is “equality of outcome” and you don’t let equality of opportunity play out.

    • @SdMbL1
      @SdMbL1 Před 2 lety +37

      @Despize Perform Also implied speech isn’t speech… it’s just your interpretation… which in this case is incorrect. Again he never said to not to try and hire 50/50. He’s saying forcing it in every situation won’t bring what a lot people think. It will have worse outcomes in most cases.

    • @SdMbL1
      @SdMbL1 Před 2 lety +11

      @Despize Perform Huh? You are making absolutely no sense now. Re think and rewrite that response. Reformulate it to an actual question or try backing up your original statement. Or are you just trying to say “hey I was wrong” without actually saying you were wrong.

    • @SdMbL1
      @SdMbL1 Před 2 lety +10

      @Despize Perform I think what he’s trying to say is that if you hire the most qualified people and get to 50/50 then great. But trying (or forcing) to get to 50/50 just because that’s what’s considered “equality” would put a lot of people out of business and then there’s no hiring, no job for the people who just got hired. If a company can hire 50/50 or 75% one way or another or 100% one way or another then it’s them (hopefully) doing that because they want the most qualified people in their business.

    I know an electrical contractor who was a union shop. The Union graduated minority apprentices according to diversity quotas. Because the quota was more important than proficiency, several minority students who were unqualified were graduated, then sent to union shops to work. Those unqualified apprentices were quickly let go. Because of the frequency of unqualified minority apprentices, it created a bias among local union shops. It became a local bias that minorities aren’t good electricians.

It’s most commonly associated with late 1800s America, where massive crowds of predominantly white people would gather to torture and/or kill African Americans who had “stepped out of line” in some way.
      But it is not necessarily limited to white-on-black violence. Cases where BLM and ANTIFA rioters have ganged up on individuals could be considered lynching.

    His assumption is that the only thing that matter to business performance is 'qualification'. That's too far from reality. Personal traces, willingness to grow and to give to others, attention to companies needs, attention and communication with clients, and plenty of other factors influence results. And even if in the short term there were some loss to performance, as a business owner I'd rather try (and I am trying) to have as much variety of human beings as possible.

An engineer is an engineer, whether or not they are a woman or a man. If they ARE engineers, then ALL of them qualified because they are engineers. They aren't hiring people who aren't engineers. They are hiring engineers which means they have to be qualified.

    The math JP is describing: you want 20 engineers and get 40 applicants, 30 of which are one gender and 10 are the other gender. To achieve 50:50 ratio you would have to employ every applicant of the latter gender and only the best of the former. This would mean that you would likely employ less-skilled engineers because your selection method didn’t account for aptitude.
    I left the genders unnamed above because it would be true regardless of the vocation or gender. If you’re choosing to 50:50 split on gender and get fewer men applying, you’d have to employ all the male applicants even if they were less qualified than the women.

      50 jobs come up for sergeant and 150 men and 18 women apply - all 18 women will get hired no matter what their qualifications are. The men, only the top 25 get selected. Yes they will leave the other spots vacant until next round. When in reality it should be 6 women hired (12%) and rest men.
