Really interesting video, I have worked with some teams and never heard about this compliance between fork tubes!!
BUT I have solved the same problem with Tech over Electric Motion (now mounted on my Montesa 290cc for 800gr of weight saving) in totally another more easy way.
I have bought the Tech bottom valve !!
100€, not so cheap, but less expensive than all cartridge!
Adjusting bottom valve, changes compression behaviour and makes Tech comfortable really like to Showa (indistinguishable!!).
I have 4 Montesa (260 Showa, 290cc Tech, 301 Tech, 300+ Montesa) and front suspension have all the same comfort in any even extreme situation.
To be completely honest, Tech on Montesa 301 behave perfectly like Showa, I have always thought about a better Montesa tuning, but maybe inside the cartridge is Showa ??
You can take a look at my channel to see the total neutral behaviour of any fork in the various obstacles, often finding the same using a different bike.
I often switch between my bikes... so I need a standard behaviour from each other.
    Thanks for sharing!

You know, I spoke to a few people that rode montesas since the 315 came out, and they have always noted that the forks felt plush and compliant.
We all know that a lot of different brand parts are made at the same factories. The case with showa wouldn't surprise me.
The forks work awesome now, especially noticeable on trail rides. Thanks for watching my video!

Thanks for the video. You didn't mention the different TECH forks available on Trials bikes. There is currently 5 different models and some are better than others as far as adjutability goes.. GASGAS RACING, Scorpa and Sherco ST I am pretty sure has the lower spec TECH Trial RACING model. It only has rebound, pre-load, and end-stroke adjustments (end stroke is small allen bottom of left leg), but the TECH Trial PRO (GG GP, TRS RR etc) has 4x adjusters (Rebound, Pre-load, end-stroke and Compression) and gives the compliance and adjustability you are chasing. There is also linear and progessive wound springs in various spring rates for both the steel and aluminium stanchion varieties directlly from FORMULA/TECH or aftermarket ones from Jitsie as well. Great job exporing the Showa cartridge benifits, but there is TECH options as well to up grade the forks. The adjustable Compression lower cartridge can be added to an existing base model TECH fork without having to purchase the complete cartridge, it is an easy job to add the benifits of the top of the line TECH forks to the lower spec variations.

Thanks for watching. I did not want to get too deep into multiple variations of fork models for the sake of the video length.
My friends got the same cartridge upgrade on their trs golds with steel stantions, the only thing we had to add to take up space was a uhmw bushing. Forks felt so amazing after the upgrade.
I've been chasing compliance with clickers on multiple bikes, including my trs rr. I could never get them to feel this good. The valving plays a major factor.
I do however have to dial back he travel speed when trail riding down very steep hills with square edges, however, the stability is unreal when dealing with chunder and rolling rocks.
I love suspension talk, thank you for sharing your knowledge!

So according to your suspension guy, the 2021 301RR Tech fork is the same as the current "Showa" fork? At some point in 22 or 23 they just started rebranding the fork as Showa?

    • @slavcoworld
      @slavcoworld  Před 6 měsíci +1

I don't know if it's just a rebrand, or manufacturing at two different facilities for different brands, but parts are the same.

As I wrote on my post, I have 2020 301 and Tech behave really like Showa on older 300+ (elaborated starting from 2007 250cc) or Showa on new 2023 260cc.
      Some doubt arise...
