I still don't think airpods are worth their value, I've had my propulse pods for more than a year and there's no visible difference at all. Change my mind.
mani got them for christmas and the propulse pro sounds way better than my original airpods 2, I don't even know how that's possible
I have never, EVER needed to re-pair my AirPods Pro since the 1st day I bought, something that I had to do every now and then with EVERY other bluetooth earphones that I have bought.
Also, if I I ever miss place the AirPod case or the earphones anywhere at home or at the office,I have compass like tracking that leads me to them.
If I ever forget them somewhere, I can open the Find My app and see on the map where their location is.
NO other earphones have these unique lifesaving features.
Change my mind.

Thanks so much for this video. I went to buy Airpods 3rd Gen, they were obviously perfectly packaged, almost impossible to tell. So I forced the seller to let me open them, insisting I will buy them if legit. Of course almost immediately it became apparent - the two strips didn't peel off correctly. Then the plastic wrapping was wrong. Then, when opening the case, the light was a tell-tale green, and I got the 'not your airpods' message on my phone. So obvious the guy was trying to scam me, thanks to your video! Just saved me 150 euro!

but do remeber if the airpod are marked as 2nd hand then they will have the green light since it has been connected before

@@certifiedcrybaby6044yeah I got that too, found a pair after a flight under my seat and when I connected at home it said “not your AirPods” but they still are under the persons warranty and the serial numbers on the pods match with the phone… had to find out if they were real since it said that when I connected.

I have a very weird problem and hope to know someone can give me the explanation. I bought Airpods 3rd, the first thing I do is to check the serial even before unboxing. But checkcoverage said that can not find this serial number and I did not see any information about that Airpods, so i unboxed it and 20 minutes later i checked the serial number again and saw the icon of Airpods 3rd on checkcoverage, but the purchase date have not been validated? Hi can you help me out, i have pair of airpods 3 which now i am not sure is original or not, there is same serial number on both airpods but in general about serial number does match with the number on box, it also shows applecare+ warranty valid till november 2023, but they are not connecting siri, i am very confuse please help me out.
If it's the same serial number on both airpods, they are probably fake. The original ones have different serial numbers on both.
As for apple care, you probably have a pair that copied the serial number from some real ones
This is a great video for those who maybe aren't as internet savvy, or at least internet shopping savvy, or who try putting their trust in the wrong sellers to try and save some money. However, I have a couple suggestions for things that could have been talked about here, but weren't. Maybe you can keep them in mind for future videos?
I'm partially blind, so I don't look at the box, stickers, manual, etc, so it's good your video included information about the bottom tabs and the poorly-wrapped case. However, does the fake box have the images of the air pods carefully embossed on top? For other videos, it would be great if you talked more about build quality differences. You had a good start with weight, but no info on how the plastic feels, or if the case hinge is different.
Also, how might the features differ or work poorly? What about force touch? Does that work, and result in the same little tap sound? Does spacial audio work? For these questions, I'm guessing not quite, or no, but it would be great for consumers to know either way.
Lastly, I see that iOS seems to recognize them as air pods when pairing. Does this extend into the bluetooth settings? If you go into the bluetooth menu and press the more info button next to the device name, will the same options/info show up as it would for real Air Pods 3, or would it closer resemble something from Air Pods 2 or regular non-Apple headphones? If you go into control center when using them, then go into the volume bar, is there a spatial audio settings button right below?
Sorry for rambling, but I think answering these additional questions would help put a lot more people at ease and, conversely, make a lot more aware that they've for sure been ripped off big time. Even if you can't answer these questions for these fake pods, I hope this comment will be helpful when you make future videos.
Anyway, thanks for the great video! I didn't need it, as my 3s are the real deal, but it's a great thing you've done for others, even if this is but one example of fakes.

mine blinks green and said not your airpods when i initially connected them but they were previously connected to another phone because the seller was testing it out
however, it does have 4 different serial numbers on the pods, inside the case and on the box
and when i enter the serial number on apple it shows date of purchase

The fake ones flash green because they used a serial number from an AirPods that’s already activated unlike on the original it’s not yet activated or connected on an iCloud account
That's just nuts! This crap is why I have a hard time trusting third-party sellers for anything. I got my 3s from Walmart, delivered from store, so at least I knew, even before this video, they were real. Seems like the fakers are getting a bit better at it.

I have a question. Would a cell phone carrier sell you a fake AirPods? I feel like mine are fake.
The version is different for each country, mine is from the apple store and its light is green I don't think it can be listed as fake
They start flashing green once they get paired for the first time, they only flash white when never been paired.

Found this because I bought a $79 pair of Gen 3's off eBay that were listed as "open box / store return". Wording in the Ad was obviously done by a non-native English speaker.
Arrived and I was suspicious opening the box, sloppy tabs like the video and had to almost break my nails to pull the bottom out.
All seemed fine until I paired with my iMac, and noticed the Airpods would not auto-switch between phone and computer. Had to always re-pair to the iMac once they had been connected to the iPhone. Also got the "not your Airpods" message". Have never seen that with My Gen 2 or Pro's.
Sound quality was immediately suspect. They sounded very hollow with little bass. I then compared them to my 2nd Gen Airpods which sounded MUCH better. This led me to starting doing research and found this video.
Of note, the serial numbers did match the box and case, each AirPod had a different serial, but when I searched on Apple's serial lookup, it gave an error.
Luckily eBay offers buyer protection. Sending them back even for $79.

Yes. I boought fakes (highest grade) and they sound great, may be slightly better than reals. One problem is the button presses itself randomly. Other downgrades are no spatial, no auto switch between iphone, ipad and other apple devices, you have to reset the fakes every time you want to connect to another device, the fakes also feel light, plastic material not as great, the case not perfectly fitted. Seller didn't care about this problem. So then, I decided to buy real ones. No more problem and everything works like a charm. If i move from one device to another the airpods connect automatically within seconds. Buy real ones, you will thank me later
@@elon6784 I went ahead and decided to save money not long after my original post by giving it a shot with the fake ones and I haven't had any issues that you're speaking of. The only thing that I noticed is that the serial numbers are different but other than that no issues. Everything works the same as compared to my friends original pair at a fraction of the price which is insane!

Excellent, Bought these on Ebay as authentic and also the latest firmware is not current, asking for a refund for $50 but return address is Honk Kong, So shipping it would eat up the refund, contacting Ebay to report this bum selling counterfeits as Ebay does not tolerate that crap.

I got AirPods3 when the fake AirPods came out so I’ve been nervous I bought fake ones but I bought real ones 😌
Discovered mine are fake.
Although I must say even though they are fake they work really well, and function almost exactly like the original (besides for SIRI).
They have good tech and are much better then others I tired for a similar price (like JBL and Soundcore)
For those who don’t care, the fakes are a good buy for under $150. For those who care, obviously stay away.
