🤞 I yearn for the game being an improvement of WWZ. I never had balancing issues on WWZ even, let alone still has the co-op horde shooter or L4D DNA (like enemy variety has its own visual/audio cues)

Hopefully the success of Helldivers 2 will give the game developers, the publishers, and the money men holding the purse strings, the confidence to go all the way with Space Marine II multiplayer.
It could also feed into whatever Warhammer 40K TV or movie projects Henry Cavill is working on - and the resurgence of Fallout games with the new TV series, is another example that should encourage the powers that be not to mess around, or try to rent seek, and rip gamers off.
Maybe these guys won't c*ck it up like Sony did with HD2.

Well it's good that the pass is only cosmetics, thus the player base does not get divided into different groups.
That’s what most battle passes are from games I’ve played.
Yeah, pretty standard now for BPs nowadays. Think they realized it hurts the overall player base to put different maps or modes in a paid pass. Reminds me of the old days of CoD and even Gears

Yes, because some of us are olds with jobs and can't sit around all day honing our skills. We just want to enjoy the game the same as everyone else, but not with a bunch of sweaty teenagers who have been practicing 23 hours a day every day for the past year.
@@ViewtifulJaeyou're probably young. But not all that long ago, most games with multiplayer modes had offline bot modes. It was common place so it's a very understandable expectation.
Kind of looks like Kharn the Betrayer as one of the chaos space marines at the end there.

I would like to see a pvp mode similar to For Honor, where we have to capture zones in order to help our forces push further into enemy territory. One team is defending the other is attacking. For the loyalists, maybe we are escorting a Custode. For the traitor legions, we escort a chaos gods champion. The attacking side helps push their VIP across the map to face off against the opposing VIP in a 1v1 duel. We may be able to assist via zones. Each zone provides buffs for the VIP. One zone grants dmg buff, another grants armor, and third buff grants attack speed/reload speed. Teams can hurt their opponents' champions, and the buff granted to their champion is also granted to them. Just an idea. I would probably be a mode where each game session takes like 20 minutes or more. Another idea is maybe 6 player raid type modes maybe.
Never know they might just have a mode like that on the checklist for future pvp related updates

This all looks great i just hope they add the rarer weapons like vulkite and gravity guns and combi weapons or both type of lightning claws and chain axes and i would like to see pre heresy skins like pre heresy world eaters or luna wolves

Favorite thing shown is the chapter customization. You’re not locked to Ultramarines.
Practically certain the classes are more or less based on the armor types/combat role from both the lore and tabletop game. They showed off the plasma gun used by the hellblasters, and unless it’s “any class, any weapon” which I very much doubt, it’s used by Tactical.
Assault is the melee class, Vanguard is the scout (the 3 variants at that, shown by their power pack attachments),Sniper is obvious. Reckon bulwark (it’s a bladeguard vet) is the “tank”, while Heavy is the support. The last 2 could/might actually be swapped, depending on how their skills work, it could really go either way.
God I’m hyped, but at the same time very cautiously optimistic. It’s the same devs that did WWZ, and that game died real quick, even with the Aftermath update. There’s the upside of 40k being a very die hard community hard pressed for quality games, however, and this definitely has the staying power the first game did.
WWZ was released years ago and it was their best selling game ever. For at least a year or 2 after I played the game religiously and could still find games and granted there is offline with bots and the bots aren't that bad
Given that Darktide has managed to disappoint WH40K fans over and over, I'm sure this game will be populated for years to come.
Judging by everything we've seen thus far. This is gonna be a GREAT warhammer game maybe even the best from that universe.
To your first comment, guess we'll have to wait and see on that front, as the other chapter colors shown still have Ultramarine heraldry. The first game did have symbols from other chapters, so it might just be wip content. That or, other chapters will come in the season pass content.
I'm more curious about the CSM side of things, since Death Guard are very distinct from other CSM, not really the mix and match types. On top of that, CSM don't have Phobos or Gravis equivalents, so what do their classes look like? Could it be marked CSM for specific classes, i.e. Khorne marked marines for vanguard and assault. Or, do CSM have an entirely different thing going on?
Or, does PvP not have classes?
Can't wait for this game.

On the battlepass having cosmetics only, isn't that the way Diablo IV does it? The XP boosts are available to everyone along with a selection of cosmetic stuff and all the seasonal activities are free to all players. The full pass gives you the shiny armour sets, emotes, titles, horses etc along with a chunk of the premium currency. Which, fair play to Blizzard, can be used to unlock the premium battle pass so from buying the ultimate edition I've actually had enough unlocks and 'free' premium currency to get four season passes.
Actually, now that I think about it, Sea of Thieves is another one that works like that. Definitely a decent model moving forward so long as the price doesn't get silly.
As an oldie - wish there was firstborn in there too
Honestly I just want a helmet from the firstborn. A MK7 aquila or MK5 Heresy, or maybe even an Errant. I quite enjoy the armor design for primaris marines, but the helmets are the worst part of it for me. If I can get one of those old vox grill helmets, maybe with an option for a targeting optic on the right eye, (or maybe both, it'd look good on the Iron Hand I'm gonna make) then I'll be perfectly happy.

For Honor, ubisoft game. The battlepass is all cosmetics, and usually a new champion. But you can just buy the battlepass and unlock the hero through gameplay. I've spent VERY little money in for honor. I've unlocked most everything by simply playing the game.
A battle pass similiar to chivlary 2 maybe where you just earn cosmetics
If they play it right this really could end up being the next Gears of war

I like the monetization method they have for this. I like that actual content updates will be free, and the battle pass is cosmetics only. Thats how it SHOULD be always. Make the game good, and feel rich in content. That will make me want to spend my time and money on making my character look as cool as possible. Heres hoping

It's basically Gears of War on steroids. It looks sick.
Looks like their battle pass system is similar to Helldivers 2. You can get a new cosmetics via the battle pass but all new content such as new missions, new enemy types and new tools are free for all players.
All new primaries and equipment are in helldivers 2 warbonds so not really similar
@@Swampdonkey796 yes, but as for me all classic primaries and secondaries are the best this I compare HD2 warbond to the SM2 season pass.
As long as the single player campaign is great( I loved the first game) then all the multiplayer gubbins is a nice little bonus..

It really does feel like the first game but with a lot more World War Z influence.
It also sounds like, speaking of zombie games, the PVE campaign will play more like Left 4 Dead and the PVE operations will play more like Killing Floor.
I'm glad they're making this, but it does not need to be a live service. I'll play through the campaign/coop once and then be done with it.

My question is will the Co-Op customization of your Marine cross over to the 6v6 PvP? If you look at the PvP game play none of the Marines look dripped out, they all look very bland :(

I have two concerns. One the guns sound a little less impactful then id expect for space marines. 2 as someone who doesn't enjoy pvp we all know that will be the mode that draws all the players which concerns me for the other two modes id rather be playing
As long as there are two other people on the planet who want to play co-op, I don't think that'll be much of an issue.
Why do the players in the PvP mode make you more concerned for the other two modes, which are co-op?
@Tazza19931 obviously you can't read, the person said they're worried the co op mode will be dead because all the players will be in pvp modes.
Anyway I'm 90% sure that won't be the case on this one. I'm a pvp fanatic and have been since the old black ops 1 days so I'm gonna be playing both modes 50/50. I guarantee you both modes will have theyre advantages though, coop mode will have some sweet rewards or even weapons maybe that pvp enthusiasts will want in theyre pvp modes.

People are going to buy the cosmetics in this game, they can get away with giving most content away but the cosmetics. Warhammer fans love their legions. Lupercal!
Admittedly I don’t know much about the history of Warhammer. That said, I loved the first Space Marine game and this one looks even better.
Closest I can think of for the season pass bit would be Aliens: Fireteam Elite which had a cosmetic 'season pass' which corresponded with free game updates that brought weapons and mods, sometimes a new gameplay, sometimes a new character class. It also got payed for DLC that added to the campaign though.
Their track record with WWZ checks out, so buying this is a go during the 4 day early access in order to see raw gameplay.
This is going to be awesome. I've been wanting a good fun co-op Warhammer like this for a while.

Wait so the "season pass" that you pay $20 more for is just a battle pass with cosmetics? That is kind of misleading. Season passes are typically content. But yea looks like they are going all in on the live services model which I kind of have mixed feelings about. Game looks amazing though.
Plenty of season/battle passes now are cosmetic only.

This is a much better aproach in my opinion. It doesn't ivie the player base. If the evelopers focus good party of their resources in ading new content and not just a bunch of cosmetics.
Spacemarine 2 from the developers of WWZ (i had a great experience) leaves a positive thought that theyre in safe hands. Im also not surprized if the game releases in an early access state or jank state of launch common from AA games 😅

Well, we will see if it turns out to be running the same 10 missions for years like we are used from Fatshark. Vermintide 2 took years till there was acceptable content. Man, I so wish to see a live service in this genre which can actually deliver. But I doubt it.

Not sure if I just misheard but most games offer a battle pass that just cosmetics with no actual content tied to it? I can’t think of any battlepass that has given you guns that others couldn’t get or access to special missions for completing it. Nothing about cosmetic only battlepass is special.

I'm both excited and wary for/of this game. A certain... person is/was attached to this game. So I'm concerned about the narrative. Then there's no Horde mode. Then there's the added Battle Pass. It looks great and mostly sounds great.

Yeah I'm assuming they are going to do the campaign and progression similar to how they did it in World War Z but who knows...unfortunately they're not giving us that many details on the game as of yet
