The simple answer is that none of those clubs were in need of a player of Maddison's profile? Maddison is a top player but those clubs are all well stocked in terms of number 10's, or in Liverpool's case don't really play with an out and out number 10.

James Maddison is a good footballer. But above that, he realises what a fortunate position he's in as a person in his twenties. He's earning very good money and he's playing in the higher echelons of the Premier League.
