Which would you say would be the best for gaming?
WiMiUS P60 vs NexiGo PJ20 ?
I was about to ask it to you and i found this ❤️
You're the best!
Also wondering about the best one for gaming. PS5 single player gaming is what I have in mind, don't even know if it's actually viable yet haha
I bought the groview projector from the link you provided for UK. The seller sent me instead the Topvision JQ818B. Are there any differences if you know?
When checked prices the Topvision JQ818B costs 60 pounds less(75 dollars) which I found really dodgy. I think you better remove the link from your description as checked the comments on the amazon and other people got this model too.
I don't always comment but I really appreciate the time you take to provide this information, thank you.
Thanks!

Yes thanks for the education excellent job !
@@Haywood-Jablomie 😆
finally, someone who makes a list and actually has all the projectors. im sick of people making top list without actually having any of the projectors
Insanely helpful and comprehensive, I really appreciate you taking the time to review all of these and go through your testing process in detail. I'm extremely happy with the projector you recommended under $100, and looking to purchase the best one under $300. Really helps me avoid all those projectors on Amazon with fake reviews and all the online "reviews" that are really just sponsored. Thanks again!
Got the Happrun based on your recommendation a couple of months ago and it was the best purchase I have made in awhile. Makes family movie night the best. Thank you
I just bought a new projector using info from this video. One of the only super well explained, seemingly trustworthy and extensively researched videos I've seen on YT for budget projectors. Thank you so much for your service! You've earned a sub.
This is one of the most clear cut and informative tech videos I have ever seen. Great job!!
As usual, fantastic details and great considerations over all the important aspects. I am so proud to be one of your patrons.
Thanks David, both for the kind words and support!
Thanks for all your time and energy putting these together. These comparison videos are invaluable to the community
Oh absolutely. I'm astonished by the amoint of value he brings to us with this type of comparisons. This is so cool.
I got the Happrun L1 after watching your previous video. I must say best decision I could've made. Thanks for all the hardwork you put into your videos. Really appreciate the effort.
Can you share the link where you purchase? I can't find happrun L1
I'm looking to buy my first home theater projector. Love your project review series. It is just how I would research over the market to compare products. e.g. start with same price point, then go to the details, except the fact that I know nothing about projectors. So thank you for doing all the dirty works!
Would love to see a price range around $500 - $800 USD comparison this would be a good quality TV of decent size but obviously not projector big but this is where most people spend when wanting a good TV before jumping up a serious price bracket. Your reviews are amazing and you have covered low price, next bracket up from low price, then higher end. I guess what is the best projector for a room with natural light some but not full sun for the lowest price point? the Nexigo pj40 looks great I just wonder how it holds up when adding another $200 to the competition options.
Keep up the amazing work
Exactly the video I've been waiting for 👍 thanks man
This video came in very handy as I was looking to replace my Acer H5380BD 720p projector, that I purchased for $397 back in the summer of 2015. The bulb was dying and the fan noise was loud, so my goal was to find a native 1080p unit at $300 or less, with less fan noise. This video helped me decide on the Groview 818C which arrived today- just set it up tonight. I'm pleased with it EXCEPT the fan noise is even louder than the old Acer! The projector sits only 4-5 feet from our heads, so it sounds REALLY loud, almost to the point where it's a dealbreaker and I'm thinking of returning it. But of all 11 units tested for this video, the 818C was the quietest at only 40.1 db... which means the 45-46 db ones must sound like vacuum cleaners! How did fan noise in projectors get even louder in the past 8 years?
This video is exactly what I've been looking for. Thank you! It's really difficult to find quality budget projectors. Most of them these days are cheap and not worth the money. You've cut the BS and I very much thank you for that. Cheers.
I can say sincerely that i've never felt the need to comment on a youtube video, but this video was perfect from beginning to end. I sincerely appreciated this video and I hope you continue this series in 2024!
What you did is just greatness. Thankyou! Keep up the good and hard work! God bless you!
Awesome side-by-side. I'm about to recommend affordable projectors to a few local Not For Profit organizations, and this review helps greatly.
The prices really jumped up since you made this video. But I found what I was looking for and you saved me a whole bunch of guessing and time. Thank you for this video! Purchased with your link.
Sooo I mostly just lurk, but I feel I should tell you have been my one stop shop for the last two years..ty sooo much :))
You really made this decision so easy, definitely using your link. Thanks.
Thanks! I have been looking forward to this video and you delivered.
Thank you very much for making comparative videos like this one, they are very interesting
These videos are amazing, I really appreciate this! Will be using the link!
Love your super in-depth, no non-sense projector comparisons! They are second to none. I am just beginning to explore projection decorating and purchased an entry level system running some cool AtmosFX projections. I’d like to expand the show using multiple windows in our Victorian home. I am looking to purchase several most-bang-for-the -buck projectors without having to take out a second mortgage. Have you done such a comparison of projection decoration projectors? I could see setting up maybe half a dozen window sized projections. The projectors would only be used for this purpose. Thank you for your time!
This perfect exactly the video I was looking for thank you! ❤
Very nice video. Happy that someone out there is testing these budget projectors with real measurements to back it up. Question: How do you think the Yaber Ace K1 would perform in a dual projector setup for a passive 3D setup, with one of the projector upside down so the lens are vertically aligned? Would the image be bright enough after having the filters installed? Every review so far has given high marks to this projector not only in brightness but also in image quality.
hey, I don't really have the answer to that question but I was wondering how the 3d setup works, it seems really interesting.
Your work is top notch, thank you so much
Hey I don't comment that much. But since the amount of quality displayed in your video I felt obligated to tell you Thank you.
Thanks for the effor, quality, and technical level of exposition put in this video. This is exactly the type of format I been looking for projectors review. I wanted to said also that if I happened to buy any of this or the more expensive projectors you showcase in your other reviews I will definetely buy it using your link. Keep the great work. God bless.
MIGHT be the best test methodology. this is the project farm of projectors, i'm afraid. bravo, the hookup
thanks a lot for the great video! this is as perfect of a recommendation video for budget projectors as it can get!
Bummed that this channel didn't come up in my search for new projector info, but I ended up getting the PJ40 so it felt nice to get a little reassurance here. I built a dirt cheap home theater back in 2019 and while the Vankyo Leisure 510 did a great job at $180, it was always a placeholder in an experimental setup. And it was starting to develop a dim spot. The PJ40 wasn't a huge step up or anything, but once I got it all dialed in (don't forget to set the EDID at 2.0 to get all the features!) it's working great. Plus, they improved input lag with a firmware update!
Great review! Much appreciated!
Many thanks! I appreciate your hard work.
Got the happrun for a window display on my christmas show. It is an outstanding value!
I absolutely love the honesty you give all projectors. From the cheapest to the most expensive. You give the truth. Anyways, i almost pulled the trigger on a nexigo pj40. But i found they made an updated version of the pj30. Which by what they say are the specs, 100 ansi lumens per the company, along with included apps. Well, i purchased it with coupons under $300. I will have to say after watching your videos and the pj40 staying on top for the most part. I'm blown away with the picture quality of this one. Seems they heard what you said and corrected issues. I would love your feed back
The projector / brand names were overall much funnier in your sub-$100 review. They really need to make these names more comical in this price range.
Love your work and can't wait to for the updated video in December! I have the Nexigo PJ40 in my online cart but can't press buy until I have updated certainty heh
Thank you for making this video, very helpful!
Thank you for the time you put into this. I’m so tired of all the robot voice reviews that only review crap models. Thanks!
thanks for such a thorough review!
And I made my way there. Fingers crossed I decide on one and get it
@thehookup I bought the Nexigo PJ40 you recommended, and wow I am impressed, thanks buddy. I will be buying a 4K projector you have recommended, thanks for your hard work!!!
Amazing comparison, thanks, this is great channel...
Clear, concise & non nonsense? Yah clicking the subscribe button was never this easy 👏
I understand the cons of the epson, but since I only intend to use while exercising in the garage and I will not be turning off the light in the garage when I need to see what I'm doing. I think out of those options the epson is actually the best option for my use case, especially when I finally got see what the projectors looked like in a brighter room and the epson looked so much nicer. I do wish it was a bit cheaper than the $300 it costs, but it still looks worth it to me. And in a few years I might be able to replace it with a more expensive projector🤷🏾♀
Fantastic video. Thank you very much 💯
Great addition for party or just a backyard movie night.
You are amazing thank you for this wonderful video !!
Which projector would you recommend between the Nexigo PJ 40 and Ultimea P 40, that projector has came out since you made this video and everyone says it’s better but I trust your videos the most especially with these budget projectors. Thanks.
What a beast! He replies to all comments.
Even this one!
Thank you for the great video! Do you know what project would work best in a bright room for the lowest cost?
What a fantastic job! Scientific yet clear and understandable to anyone. 👏👏👏
I was spinning my head trying to figure something out under $200. My son broke my LG and I just don’t wanna spend another $700 for him to break it again. This means I don’t have to worry about a screen to break. Thank you 🙏
Thanks for the great video!
Please consider looking at the Ultimea Apollo P40, it is only 180 USD and got some great reviews, potentially rivalling the Yaber K1 for a lower price. 😊
Great video. The PJ40 is already out of stock at Amazon. I guess I need to start stalking your videos closer 😂
this is a GREAT review, love how detailed it is thank you for the time you take to provide this information. how does the *Vizony RD830 Projector* compare to these projectors?
Full information, really helped me look into my proyector.
I would also suggest to add if they have easy cleaning access. Some projectors will have on the bottom so if you need to clean you do not need to take all pieces apart for it.
I have been trying to look into them but many people do not really care about it. I had issues with the one I have now and I hate to take it apart to clean and be able to watch a movie.😅
Fantastic review 🤘💯❤️
You do an amazing reviews. I trust you more than anyone on CZcams. Thank you for the Review. Do you have a $500 suggestion? Or should I just go with Nexigo PJ40?
great reviews! I'd love to see a UST ALR Screens review from you.
Talk about a first class, bar none review!!!...wish I had discovered you before all my "trials and errors "😂😂😂... nonetheless, thank you for all the time and effort you put into all these tests!!!
Hey thanks for the reviewing Video, it really help us choose the right projector. I had bought a gimi halo as you recommended and it is very nice. Would you be able to do the air purifier as well. Thanks.
appreciate all the info
Thanks for your video. There is not much review sites for such projectors from Amazon
Your video of how to buy projector was so helpful for me to buy my projector.
I bought Yaber Ace K1, and it's one of the best purchases I have made. I got it connected with xbox and chromecast; and that device delivers. Yaber Ace K1 has manual keystone, and I was surprised with your review.
Honestly been using it everyday. Yaber Ace k1 is the best 👌
Hi, are you able to get more than 720p on Netflix and Disney+ using Chromecast?
Awesome video. Thanks a lot
I purchased the pj40 9-29-23 as my first projector ever owned. After getting it all setup I was completely satisfied with the 120" screen. I cleaned the filter everytime the projector recomended. On 12-13-23 the screen developed a blue haze right in the center. It seems to be getting worse day by day. I am not 100% sure what the problem is but it did not last even 3 months before developing a problem.
Thanks for this great information. ON your website I clicked the Nexigo PJ40 but takes me to the Groview Amazon page just FYI
Thanks I am buying the Nexigo PJ 40, thanks
Great video again! I love your comparisons and how thorough they are. I would be curious to how they perform on different screens for the perceived image. Since the Epson is so much brighter than the rest.. would you be able to use a black screen to absorb more of the darks at the sacrifice of some lighter colors? It gets so bright that it may not be that much different. I am not sure if that is how it works or not. I always see a comparison of projectors but not screens themselves. Go to buy one and you usually have white, gray or silver and some black screens. I am not sure how that really changes the image and if you can do what I mentioned with a black screen and a really bright projector like above. (Not necessarily the epson but any very bright projector.)
Cant wait to see your vidéo of 2023 models
And Hope ull reach this Time 300 to 400 dollars ❤️
Legendary review !!!
Great review, you are like the project farm of projectors.
Thanks!
Thanks Rob.
Just bought the Groview through your Amazon link. Thanks.
I caught the 818C at 40% off! Thanks, Rob. Sent back the HAPPRUN.. which, I will say, both are great deals!
I purchased the PJ40 and it came with two dead pixels right out of the box, it’s also concerning that a lot of people have updated their Amazon reviews after the screen starts to go orange and dead pixels start to pop up after 4 months or so. Seems like most of the 5 star reviews are based on out of the box impressions instead of after having it for a while and it seemingly not holding up. I’ll be returning mine and possibly replacing it to see if I get one without any defects out of the box. I do have concerns that it won’t last 6 months however
Man I loved this video it was very thorough. I am trying to get a projector to replace outer TV, but there will be light in the room it will be in. Do u think any of these are better for just overall use I a room with windows and some light. I was looking at that Epson, the Ansi lumens looked great on that one.
How would the input lag on the Nexigo PJ40 be for gaming? I mostly play games on my switch when my friends come over like Super Smash, Breath of the Wild and Super Mario. Great review!
Gosh! Your test are amazing. I bought my videoprojector last month based on your prveious under 200$ VP. I should have wait a bit. So good to see a test like this manly based on measurement, that's awesome. Thank you again.
A word on the vaabzz from last year who dies after few use would have been appreciate, or at list a word about it on the previous video description. :)
Hi, it would be great to see Yaber Pro V8 since it is cheaper ($180) with similar specs to the PJ 40 and Yaber Ace K1. Between those three, which one is the better decision?
I bought the nexigo pj20 and the picture quality is amazing!! However the fan is kinda loud. How do I lessen this? Or are there other projectors with similar qualities and less fan noise?
Thanks for the video I'm thinking about getting a projector for movie night but I'm not sure
I figured out why the Groview is so bright. It compresses the whites and starts clipping pretty early. Same issue with the Happrun too. I guess it’s a technique for them to maximize the light output for these budget projectors. Sad there isn’t a way to remove the “enhancement” with the onboard calibration.
And yet you're literally wrong if you use your eyes lol
Crushed this video buddy. Just ordered the Groview 818C for a cheapo garage golf sim... hope it works! But this was exactly the info I needed
Also... was only $70 on sale!!!
@@thegoalnet5915 I see $139, got a link?
@@ChrisW1962 that was 2 weeks ago 😂. That’s like 10 years ago in amazon land. Keep checking for flash sales? I had another golfing buddy who got it for the same price around the same time
love the comparison and info. You seem to have the youtube market on this one. Glad you bumped the budget up. Looking for something between the 500 to 1000 price point, that does not have to be portable, if your looking for ideas for more content. 😄
Lots to choose from at that range. What are your sticking points? Do you want a bulb projector or LED/laser? Do you want 4K or is 1080p enough? Do you want a smart OS? Do you want built in speakers? Is advanced keystoning important?
@@TheHookUp No speakers. Bulb is fine. 4k is not necessary. Not sure about advanced keystone as it should be easy to set up. A short lag would be nice. Short throw would be nice. Movies in a basement is the goal. 120 inch screen ballpark. Have heard 3 chips is recommended for better color.
@@jonboypointer Sounds like you want a BENQ TH671ST: amzn.to/3WMhYbn
1080p, bulb, low latency, short throw, good color. The 3chip vs DLP giving better color is a myth from what I've seen, but if you are someone who noticed the DLP rainbow effect (highly person dependent), you might want to stick with Epson 3LCD.
You’re my literal hero
Thank you!
Absolutely fantastic comparison video. Think you'll be doing one the higher price ranges? $300-$1000?
That's a tricky price range, there are HUNDREDs of bulb projectors in the $500-1000 range, so I'd need to do a ton of research before buying the review units. I'll put it on my list.
Thanks for the videos. Do you have links to Amazon CA for these ?
Dang good summary for someone who needs a cheap projector and knows a whole lotta nothing about them!
Hey The Hook Up, not sure if you'll respond to such an old video, but is it alright to have the projector at a vertical angle for the projection to be on the ceiling? I'm planning on getting the Happrun and was wondering if having the projector at such an angle would damage or overheat it? I'm planning on using two books to balance the projector to point at the ceiling. 😅
Thank you for this kind of work; it's much needed. I'm interested in the Groview, but I don't know whether you tested the RD881 or the JQ881C. At the 1:27, 2:00, 3:07, and 4:03 marks in your video, you picture the RD881, which is listed on Amazon at $190. At the 4:52 mark and in the side-by-side test at the 6:01 mark, you list the Groview model as just "881C," which would be a reference to the JQ881C. At the 10:55 mark, you show the Groview JQ881C. Can you provide any clarification on this? I'd like to purchase the Groview JQ881C for $140, but I can't be sure that what you tested isn't the Groview RD881.
I've been interested in setting up a bit of a backyard drive in. How big of a screen can I really expect from any projector? Some make claims of 400".
I've also notice some have 3D options. How well does this work?
Great video! How does the Wimius P64 compare? Thanks
Can you ceiling mount the PJ40? Also what are the throw distances for 100" and 120"...how far does it need to be placed?
Thank you.
Did you compared Ultimea Appolo 40 ?? ANY recommendations??
Hey great review, I really appreciate your effort! Can you do a review on Xiaomi's Projector 2 and Projector 2 Pro? I wonder if it's a good option as well?
