*Needed something in our camper to hold glasses, phones **MyseIf.Furniture** and the remote next to our bed.Folded it back over a small dowel and hung it on a couple of Command Strip hooks on the wall next to the bed.Made a 160 mile round trip and a weekend stay and it stayed right in place.Worked great. Everything was right where I could reach it.*
Thanks for taking the time to make and post this video. One tip used by another YT video maker of a similar item was to put tissue paper overtop of the shelf liner, and then you can use your sewing machine to attach it to the fabric (faster than hand-sewing!). Once sewn, just tear off and throw away the tissue paper.
So cute and ingenious! Can't wait to do this for my little boy. Thanks for all the great tutorials. I just made your Bette band and everyone loved it!
You can sew the shelf liner to the caddy by placing a strip of tissue paper on top of the shelf liner so the foot of your sewing machine won't stick to it while sewing. Also, you should remove the pins as you come to them in the sewing process. If your needle ever strikes the pins, the pins will be damaged and/or the needle will break. I've had a needle piece fly up and hit me in the face just below my eye once. It only took once to teach me "Don't sew over the pins." I do like the idea of the rubberized shelf liner.
awesome tutorial! this makes it look so easy! I am planning on adapting this for my armchair as well.
Nice and neat. Thank you. This is one of the better ones I have looked at, and plan to sew accordingly.
@mariancarver You bet! You can buy it at any store that sells fabric. I bought this pack at Wal-Mart and they had about a dozen different colors.
My sons bed has a bed skirt is it possible to just add the pockets to the skirt. Thank you for the tutorials they have been a lot of help and so easy to follow especially for a beginner like me thanks
Good instructions. Easy to follow.
loved this video. it's easy to understand thank you very much for sharing.
In case anyone else is wondering, the song in the background is Middle Of The Night by Eastern Conference Champions.
I've made a few of these now. One of the most useful projects I've made. Thanks for the tutorial!
I also love the music in this video. Anyone know who the band is?
Thank you for sharing .
Thank you so much for this video. This is exactly what I was looking for. What is the music you are playing in the background? It sounds like a band that I heard in Silverado Canyon
Very good Idea for using the shelf liner! I saw another video for doing a bedside caddy but it didn't have this so I'm going to take a little from both of your ideas and make one myself. This would be great for the sick and shut in. Thank you for the great ideas. Thumbs Up to you for this idea and the great video!!! :-)
Do you have any ideas on how I can make one for my leather recliner. I tried this rubbery shelf liner but it is still slipping off of the recliner. Thanks.
Does the tape come in different colors?
This is a great video. I would just suggest using instrumental music as background music. It makes your video more "neat" and less distracting.
What are the measurements?
I love this idea and I am almost finished, but there are no instructions on how to finish the corners--I've folded and pinned, but how do I sew/finish the mitered corner? Thanks!
Here's my finished product. ..
Helpful tutorial, but the music is annoying.
