What makes this strange is assuming the pyramid was hollow and it's supports collapsed on themselves
They were screwed the moment it was decided they had to animate a pyramid being destroyed. It's already basically a big pile of rock, you pretty much have to cheat to have it collapse in any way.
Wonder: collapse
Music: happy
Maybe Wonders would last longer if workers didn't do such shoddy work and didnt make them hollow, I mean that Pyramid is just inflatable it seems :)
The Shang wonder is a blow up jumping castle
Yea imagine if it would be like the real thing and destroying it would just make the obelisks in the front fall over making the entrance inaccessable but otherwise just stay the same.
The pyramid is very hard to be destroyed by design, you might be able to collapse the inside but the overall shape would stay intact unless you waste a ton of manpower to do so. It’s not a coincidence a lot of pyramid shape structures remain through out the world for thousand of years. Building them needs a lot of effort and destroy them also. Not until the invention of bombs and effective explosive. Imagine trying to burn rock and hitting them with hammer.
In gameplay wise, they (builders) had to use cheap methods to build it fast - that the master (player) wouldn't bore to death of waiting. "See? We made it so fast! It is truly a wonder!".
It would take phenomenal work to do and isn't really worth it. Maybe it won't be enjoyable to watch too
I like how colosseum and colossus at least have their foundation or lower part of building intact while pyramid just collapsed like it was a mere shell.
When pieces of Leonidas statue fell down and hit vases at the bottom, you can see that some of those vases shook or were even toppled... interesting attention to details I must say.
That is a strong ass vase you mean. 11
If I had to guess, I would say these are modeled in 3d and ran through a physics simulation. Then it's all converted to sprite animations. There's no way an artist rendered the animations by hand.
first wonder was like "brb" then turned to gold
😂
Colosseum was the best.. the canopy fell on the seats and got ridges 👌🏻
They put them through a physics Sim I guess
Wish they had a wonder for each civ
These destructions look nice at first glance, but it looks like everything is hollow and every bit is in free fall at once.
Too bad the dev didnt make unique wonder for each civ 😢
Wish they did. They had the perfect opportunity to add it.
Too bad the AoE1 civs still weren’t given their unique Wonder set when they should be.
Give devs time, perhaps? It is a low priority task so... I guess it will take time
Maybe they will in future updates. Its pretty evident that the primary objective of Return of Rome is to gauge interest in it before going further with it.
They already said theyre gonna bring back the old campaigns after much feedback.
@@Bu11yMagu1re If they do unquie Wonders this is what I think they should do
Assyrians: Gardens of Sennacherib
Babylonians: Ishtar Gate
Carthaginians: Cothon of Carthage
Choson: Hwangnyongsa Temple
Egyptians: Great Pyramid of Giza
Greeks: Colossus of Rhodes (Note the current wonder is a fictional statue based a modern day memorial to the battle of thermopylae)
Hittites: Palace of Hattusa
Lac Viet: Cổ Loa Citadel
Macedonians: Pharos of Alexanderia
Minoans: Palace of Knossos
Palmyrans: Temple of Bel
Persians: Tachara Palace
Phoenicians: Solomon's Temple Note the Israelites were at the time of King Solomon were heavily influenced by their Phoenician neighbors to the north. The temple would have been built in the style that was commonly used by the Phoenicians at the time, the wooden pillars that were used in the construction of the temple were made of Cedar wood imported from Lebanon which at the time was controlled by the Phoenicians and it was also highly likely that King Solomon would have had the help of Phoenician architects to build God's temple)
Shang: Mausoleum of Qin Shi Huang
Yamato: Either the Hōryū-ji Kondo or the key shaped Kofun burial mounds that were used between 300 to 538 AD
@@RocketHarry865 I just wish the dev will use this idea. :'(
Another idea for some civilization will be:
Babylonian : Etemenanki, a very large and tall ziggurat often mistaken as the Tower of Babel.
Choson : Mireuksa Ji, an ancient stone pagoda which parts still survive to this day.
Hittites : the Temple of Storm God in Hattusa. Lack of resesarch done on this site, other than it had a green stone in the front yard.
Edit for Persian : the Great Apadana Hall of Persepolis will look great too.
@@kevinabiwardani7550 Reason I went for the Ishtar Gate because the Etemenaki is a little too similar to the Sumerian Wonder the Great Ziggurat of Ur.
I wonder what wonders would be chosen when they make new expansions for Indian, Steppe Nomads, African and Northern European civilisations
Harappan: Mohenjo-daro citadel
Maryuans: Dharmarajika Stupa
Tamilakam: Kallanai Dam
Anuradhapura: Jetavanarama stupa
Cush: Pyramids of Meroë
Askum: Axum's Northern Stelae Park
Numidia: The Royal Mausoleum of Mauretania
Nabataeans: Ed-Deir, Petra
Sababeans: Temple of Awwam
Armenians/ Urartu: Van Fortress
Scythians: Salbyk kurgan
Xiongnu: Tongwancheng. This was the capital city of the Xiongnu state of Hu XIa that ruled Northen China during the Sixteen Kingdoms period between 407 and 432 AD. One of the most significant remains of the site is a massive mound like structure built out of bricks of white clay which were once part of the city's defensive walls. Its likely this was the location of a great tower upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/1/1d/统万城.JPG
Yuezhi: Surkh Kotal
Celts: Goloring. The reason I went with this over more famous ancient monuments like Stonehenge is that vast majority of massive megalithic structures were actually built by neolithic and early bronze age peoples who predated the Celts by several thousands of years which disqualifies them. Goloring henge on the other hand has been dated to the late bronze age era Urnfield culture which existed between 1200 BC to 800 BC and the Urnfield have been considered one of the earliest forms of Celtic culture with the Hallstatt culture developing out of it in the 8th to 6th centuries BC which was in turn followed by La Tène
Iberians: Cancho Roano
Germanics: Kiviksgraven
Dacians/Thracians: Sarmizegetusa Regia Round Temple
The best part was when wonders fell.
the big dude collapsing reminds me of the colossus death animation from aom for some reason
You can see flat textures on the entrance gate when piramid collapses xd
The leaders of every civ: *why i feel something was broken...?*
This feels good after playing the Trajan campaign
How Wonderful this is
The First wonder is like hitting jackpot, after fall everything turns to gold! That's like liberating people of that country and being Robinhood. Aftr destruction everyone's rich!
4:05 "Do you see gods of olympus!? Do you need more proof!?"
Sooo, all the wonders are hollow? 11
Shaka! When the wonders fell!
Thought those were people being crushed under the Colosseum
The Wonder! The Wonder! The - NOOOO!
Some of these have some missed potential. How much cooler would it be if the Greek wonder's body parts fell off one by one instead of just imploding like it was made of clay?
wth ...a hollow pyramid, it could just crack it or something else lol
if they are wonders then why did he die
0:37 Lac Viet don't have this wonder 😅😅😅
Which one do they have? I'm curious because I don't have the game yet. It's one of the Wonders in the video?
@@BlueMK12 in this game , they have the same wonder as in the video, but in reality it's not Lac Viet's wonder but Choson's
@@bebapfamily3008 Ah yes I see! I assume that there are not unique wonders too hahahaha
@@bebapfamily3008 Well neither did Carthagians have colosseum or Persians having Etemenanki ziggurat.
Hollow pyramid
What is the song in the video?

whats wrong with the first wonder? looks bugged
yes
hollow pyramid :(
