Superman could be richer than Batman if he wanted. There are tons of resources he could get access to that few others could and he wouldn't even have to take it from Earth. He probably wouldn't have to go to far into space to find an asteroid or two that are rich in resources. He probably has a great deal of wealth stored in the fortress of solitude. As Clark Kent he's as wealthy as he wants to be. He chooses to live a much humbler life than he has to.
