My great grandmother's entire family were exterminated by the Nazi's. The only reason she survived was by marrying an Englishman. As a teenager I ask her why she didn't want to visit Isreal. She told me the Zionists have had their heads turned the wrong way and I will never be part of it. I will not revisit the Holocaust being repeated or give sanction to it, otherwise my family died in vain. I do think a lot of Israeli's have been brainwashed. My Grandmother didn't use the Holocaust as a defence or a weapon. She said it was so it must never happen again. If she were alive today her heart would be breaking and she would march to free Palestine of this I am certain.

I am a US veteran. I too had a great epiphany about what I had been told all my life. It happened to me recently. The belief that America stood for truth, justice, human rights, the rights of the oppressed, and that we are a beacon of hope for the whole world has been suddenly shown to be a lie.😔
It depends what PART of America we are talking about. There are different parts of America. For example there is what the founding fathers created and wrote in the Declaration of Independence. That's one part. Then there is what the oligarchic forces of the government/ ruling class have done internationally. That's a different part. You see what I'm saying ?

As a jewish woman who lived in israel for 7 years, I have just now started to research this stuff and I am shocked. I had literally zero clue this is what life was like. I knew there were restrictions , and lack of citizenship in occupied terrotiroes but i learned it through the lense of this being a temporary situation until 2 state solution comes to be. But even then i didnt know this is what life was like. Almost like feeling like a German citizen who said they didn't know about the holocaust when it was happening. It's embarrassing and shameful....I am so so sorry. But I know now. And I will be a voice wherever I can for you, as I am for every human being being unjustly oppressed.

It’s amazing to hear this coming from an Israeli settler. I’m a Palestinian, and I have to admit that what this young man is saying takes an incredible amount of courage. I can only imagine the backlash he is facing, probably even from his own family. This is a testament to his adherence to truth, it really is incredible to see. There are so many of us millennial and gen Z Jews who feel the same way as this man. Many of us have been dismissed and mocked and even disowned by older family members for just standing up for the humanity of Palestinians. Ancestral trauma experienced by the Jewish people has been weaponized in the older generations for the purposes of oppression and settler colonialism, and they are having a hard time coming to terms with this fact.

As a Palestinian growing up, my grandmother would tell me stories of how her Jewish neighbors were as close to her as her own family, she would tell me how as a child she would go to their house on Saturdays to turn on the lights and open doors. Their children were her best friends, they were always either at her house, or their house playing together. We have always been one society, cohesive, loving, living together in peace and harmony. The Palestinian struggle has never been against Jews, only against settler colonial Zionism. This land belongs to all of us, we Palestinians, understand and believe this, we can live in harmony, but the Zionist racism, apartheid has to go.

I was shocked visiting Poland that there are areas just to be a memorial site of the dead Jews there in krakow. But never is it spoken of all the Christian’s , Muslims, non believers and whatnot that risked their lives to hide them and help them to survive . Still it seems they think they are better and God helped them survive. But it has always taken away the huge risks our people took to help them, and how many of us non Jews that were also killed. My heart shatters every day when I see the resolve, strength and humanity of a people that live under terror, oppression, racism, humiliation and violence by a criminal oppressor, because nobody should experience life under such despicable treatment…And that’s on a good day. On a bad day, mothers cry in despair for their children killed by an air strike. Fathers dig through rubble with their bare hands to find their sons and daughters. Entire families are destroyed. Most of us will never experience anything near that level of suffering, but we are all human and we absolutely need to do everything we can to stop the genocide.
