I'm glad you are salvaging zippers and buttons and things like that from thrifted garments. I always do that too because zippers are expensive in the fabric store! I even save zippers from those clear plastic cases that new bedsheets and comforters come in. (They are usually long, metal toothed zippers and they would be expensive to buy brand new. )
That is an excellent idea! To save them from those plastic box/pouch things.
I love how these items you're making from this series are all so customizable! They look so professional and comfy and high end all at the same time! Thanks for empowering us to make our own fashion and not have to fork our money out to designers and fast fashion!
Thank you! I’m looking forward to making more :)
I love the more "wearable" tutorials😍❤️
Looks great
I would love to see how to make your own leggings. Maybe it could be apart of the basics series you already have going or a separate video. Love your videos!
Impressed every single time
Ditto
4:09 I think you mean topstitching thread- machine embroidery thread is much more fine than all purpose polyester thread, whereas topstitching thread is heavier and comes in the usual denim thread colours.
Great input! I do mean top stitching thread
Omg I needed the elastic waistband tutorial for some shorts im making perfect timing
These wide leg pants are amazing!! Perfect for casual summer wear!
Love the video! I have loved your videos for years, and with so much free time during quarantine I am finally getting a sewing machine of my own! You definitely inspired me to realize sewing is a way to express yourself! I have always loved thrifting, so getting to turn that stuff into something that fits me perfectly is so exciting! Thanks for all your hard work!!!
I absolutely love this new series. Literally the week before it started I was thinking how great would it be to see you doing more wearable clothes so I'm incredibly happy 😍😄
The whole look is adorable!!
These are so cute!!! And they're tailored to you perfectly!! I love it!
Love your clothing from Scratch series. I find these more helpful than thrifting fixes. I would love to see you make a pair of jeans and maybe distressing or softening denim.
Wow what quality! These pants are amazing quality
I would love a video on darts! I'm a beginner sewer and they're really tripping me up. Thanks!😊
Check out this video of mine: czcams.com/video/_Sl6WeEPgIY/video.html
Possible go to your local library & check out beginner sewing books..re the info on dart sewing. If you find one that you really like & can learn from..(from there you can buy one, if you want). It is much cheaper that way.. Or go to a Goodwill, books are soo much cheaper there. (I don't know how many books I've bought in the past & didn't use/read/learn from..(whatever they were about).
Hope that helped.
Happy Sewing..
@@ladyhawc03 Thank you 😊

Exactly what I needed 😍 had a stressful day and I'm so excited to watch this video. Those pants are soo nice 😍
Aww yay! Thank you for watching :)
All I can think about are these pants, they look so fabulous on you especially with that belt! I can’t wait to attempt this after finishing the garden shorts I’m making and the socks I’m knitting as a commission
love this series
Thank you so much for sharing April!!! You are so talented!!!
Please take care and stay safe and healthy 💕💗
absolutely amazing work! These turned out sooo well!
Those are sooooo cute!! Gotta try this!
Hi April, as a suggestion for a future video, I thought it might be helpful to see you pick one of your previous thrift store (op shop) transformations and recreate it. It would be sort of like us trying to recreate your project when starting with a different garment initially. You could show what adaptations you would make to get the same or similar look when the garment that you are starting out with is different to what you used the first time, as it would be for us picking up something from a thrift store. thanks
I love how you design your clothes by taking what's best in other clothes you already have. it's like bringing the best of both worlds to live 😂 being able to sew seems to be an awesome skill!
So cute I loved them.
Love love them!
Love them!
the pants looks super cute!
Beautiful sewing, they look so nice. Thanks for sharing your skills with us!
I recently started a vintage pattern for shorts and to be honest I didnt understand it, legs weren't matching up and I didn't know how to add a zipper or pockets. This video will help me out to make those shorts!
Looks great! ⭐ Thank you for sharing 💓
Yay! I recently bought denim fabric and now I have something to do with it!!
Best Channel on CZcams! I wish you were online back then when I was first learning to sew! Congrats, girl, you rock!

Amazing👍 You're so talented
Thank you for watching 🥰
This is the cutest short leg pants I’ve ever seen! Keep up the good work. I can’t wait to see your wedding dress‼️🎁🌹💐‼️
Making basics Im into this series
Really great jeans, brilliant inspiration thank you
So reassuring that such an experienced sewer like you can make some mistakes too. Not just me 🤗 Thanks for a great video as always.
I love it!
Love them. I think I need to practice with a bedsheet or something so I don't mess up the good fabric.
I applaud you ! I sew too , here and there. Idk how you don’t give up after the first error. When you said you had to remove the pocket and sew it down again I already would’ve given up. I’m so impatient and I get frustrated easily af. Then you had to remove the waistband and do that part again. Idk how you do it. I would’ve been over it lol
You’re technique is so amazing!! I was skeptical at first, seeing how it was a test video the first time. But this attempt was pretty ingenious. I can’t wait to try it! Maybe I should mosey my way to Joann and get some denim lol
These are so cute! Lovee wide leg jeans 💕
That is very cute. I haven't wore wide leg pants in along time.
Great job .. great finish
Great idea thank you for your hard work
I'm glad to know you
Its so pretty. I think it would nice too as a pleated skirt(with same length)
I loveee her tutorials. I just h8 it when she says "for the pattern, use a pair of pants you already have"
I NEVER HAVE SOMETHING I CAN USE I NEED A PATTERN TnT
This style of pants from a linen blend are fabulous! Excellent video! Use your Serger more!!!! You will love it. Try some heavy embroidery thread in the upper looper for decorative stitches.
Love them...
Hi April!! Wonderful vlog.. Terrific outcome on your jeans....
💜💜💜🧵🧵🧵
I really love your channel !! You inspired me to sew and you helped me a lot to improve my sewing skills🥰🥰 keep going on !! You are amazing 😘😘
Thank you Luna!
Kakkodibisghengal
Great pants!
You nailed that front fly zipper! Nice work as always, April :)
So cool
Just amazing love them bravo to you 👍👍
You are amazing!!!!!
Your outfit in the beginning is so cute! It's very Snow White/ Wonder women 🤗
omg please make a wide legged pants with ruffled/bunched up fabric on the waist band pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!I love wearing wide legged pants as well!!
love this! I was actually looking for a design like this but in linen.
No reason you can't just use this and use your linen. This style will be fabulous in linen
T none yes I agree!! 😍😍😍
I fear sewing front pant zippers too 😫 this gives me so much more confidence though! Thanks for making it look way less scary than it did, it really does make the pants look that much more professionally done ❣️ Great job girly. Take us on more fearful tutorial journeys because if you fear it, I probably do too 😂
April: so did you know yet that I sewed a zipper fly in my last tutorial? Loved this video! The pants look really good, and now I kinda wanna try it myself with some flowy fabric👀
Wow, April those pants are so cute...love the music at the end of the video too:-)
Hey I absolutely love your channel you are so creative I love all the ideas 💗 I also want to say I appreciate you using lots of thrift materials I do this to as much as possible I use sheets curtains bed skirts and even tablecloths to make dresses on my channel sending love stay safe 💗
April, I enjoyed your video so much I watched it twice!!! Making patterns using my favorite clothes is something I really want to learn!!! Judy
Judy Chapman aww thank you Judy!
I made this today 😍😍
everything you do seems easy to do, like you do not come across a problem at all.
Great tutorial and love your pants....great job...going to have to make some for myself....tfs
Pants are cool but I must say what a beautiful shirt you have to pair with
Nice! Not a fan of elastic waists but that is a personal preference. They look really great! Love ur shirt btw.
Perfeitooooooo
April, dear, you`re cool !Pushing me to go forward and to dare using the scissors .Love you,Cool Irpa !
I can’t wait to learn how to sew I’m trying to find a sewing class to take where I live! Trying to found a sewing machine to buy too!
I bought my sewing machine on a reselling website, like let go, offer up or even Facebook marketplace. They usually sell for cheap, just make sure you look up reviews on it. And that way if you don’t end up liking it or sticking to it, at least your only out $50-100 rather than buying a brand new one that costs $200+.
Just an idea ☺️
Hey...I was @ my local Goodwill & came across a sewing machine for only $12.00...couldn't pass that up.
(Note): while I was in the store, I went on-line to see what came w/the sewing machine (when purchasing new). Score, everything was w/it..although, I do have more then a few supplies already, just in case. Whoever donated it..really took care of it.
ALSO, there are many beginner video's on CZcams..IF you can't find or afford classes locally.
Enjoy & happy sewing..
I bought one on ebay to get started. MimiG has SewIt academy. It's an online school. She has a CZcams channel and provides excellent instruction
Maybe try Gumtree that’s where I got mine
I bought mine from the Brother website. It was $89 and a decent basic machine (model VX1445)
I love Native deodorant and will be using the coupon code for that great deal! I will have to try putting in a regular zip (never done it before) before I tackle a fly front, though. It's funny; I've made a corset (not that hard once you get past the front closure) but never anything with a zipper!
💙🙌
Wow
❤ loved it you are awesome...
I'm early wow love april 💕😍
Next time do the stitch w double stitch line I'm really struggling w that
Those same deodorant I can find them here in New Jersey in Marshall’s stores! Way cheaper than that if I could post a picture of the price each.
If you only have straight/skinny leg jeans, you would trace them but at the hip, draw a line straight down and on the inner thigh do the same. The crotch needs a curve to fit but going straight at the thigh should be okay. Also it might be helpful to make a curved waistband instead of straight so it fits better! That way you don’t have to use elastic because denim can bulk up easily
I loved! How much of fabric did you use? Thanks ❤️🇧🇷
Could you make a tutorial for t-shirts with open back?? Or some tops with Brandy Melville style?
My daughter loves this style of pant. I’ll have to co-create some with her.
