My kids are taught discomfort as a good thing..be it eating something they dont like, doing homework when they don't want to, taking cold showers once on a while, talking to people they don't want to, being and staying bored, etc. Learning resilience in the mundane of life is the best thing for children
This is brilliant! I've really been struggling to understand the people around me. Nearest I've managed to anywhere close is "they are self absorbed and lacking ability to really be grateful for the life they have"... But "how and why" had eluded me....until now. For years, I've been looking for ways, trying to make the connection of being grateful and happiness. I use myself as an example with, "I make my bed every day, simply because, I HAVE a bed to make". But it falls on deaf ears... Thank you! I'll finish watching this clip and look for the full version.
The true joy that comes from discomfort is unmatched. The journey always brings goosebumps. But man oh man itâs soooo difficult to convince yourself to embrace discomfort
I have Parkinsonâs and I walked an hour this morning and have lost over a 100 lbs.
Good for you! That must have been really hard! Keep going though.
I just found this video after running consecutive 100s in Nebraska, Vermont, Indiana and just recently, Connecticut. I run consecutive 100s because it is not easy and the sense of accomplishment is very objective -- Run 100 miles on a particular course in under a specified time. There are very few moving parts, just me and my mental resolve to Get it Done. Getting a good night of rest after a 100 is particularly rewarding. The race retrospective is used to fuel future races and improve on the running template.
Stay hard đȘđŒ

While I was in the middle of healing process , going to more aliveness but not 100 percent aware of it , still busy to disguise myself with the believed appropriate clothes there for as well as the personalities , I saw a guy who was feeling confortable where ever he was going , with the same clothes and staying himself and that really was a unsolved mystery to me .
