    So I've been researching this sport for a couple of years now. I really enjoyed your style of explaining how the wing operates, how many lines a wing has, the functions of each line, the general mechanics of the wing and the rules for engagement. Boy I'd sure like to have you for my instructor in this sport. You really should consider becoming a Certified Instructor. I believe that you'd be really great at it. Thanks for sharing your insight and your passion for this amazing sport. Be safe and God Bless !

What do you do in the event of an engine failure out over the water? Can you easily get out of the harness so the motor doesn't drown you? Do people just plan on swimming until someone notices they went down? Thanks.

    • @aerowolf6439
      @aerowolf6439 Před 9 lety +1

      leviterande all wings are flexible, look at how much glider wings flex when they fly. The flexing of wings is an entire field of study known as aero-elasticity for us aeronautical engineers, it actually really helps keep the ride smooth and absorb the bumpy air so it stays controllable for the pilot. We have it pretty well handled, Just don't stall it :)

    I really enjoyed watching your video, thanks for sharing. I took up this sport 15 years ago. I went through the glider training but not the paramotor training. I bought a new edel confidence wing and a second hand paramotor... I think it was an F3 but can't remember the brand... unfortunately due to difficult circumstances after I used my paraglider about 3 times it stayed in it's bag and the paramotor sat in a crate for 15 years... I have finally got past a very difficult time and keen to start up again. Can anyone tell me if these wings deteriorate over time? It has been kept inside although it was dusk when I last packed it and there may have been a slight amount of moisture about... many thanks in advance.

    whats the restrictions? can you go to any beach and take off? can you fly anywhere

    • @captainblack1917
      @captainblack1917 Před 7 lety

      You can fly many places but not everywhere. You need to read a sectional chart to see where the airports airspace is located as well as restricted areas. Most places are open to fly if you do so in a respectable manner.

      The prices vary, but averages seem to be from $7,000 - $11,000 for equipment, and $1,200 - $2,000 for training.

      You can get used setups for under 5k. Cheapest training I have found from a certified trainer was 1k.

    It doesn't look like you have a parachute in your rig like paragliders do. Do you carry one in case you have a problem with your wing?

    • @RuleofFive
      @RuleofFive Před 8 lety

      +Bluesteel34 I dread the inevitable day that PPG becomes regulated by the FAA, its only a matter of time. No more taking off from public areas like beaches, licensing fees, radio requirements... only a matter of time as popularity increases. Get into it while the gettin' is good!
