    I agree with him on the point that he gets treated much differently by teams since slowing him down is much more different and difficult than other players but not all of those 50-60 games have players having the same looks. Some times it is just them being unstoppable and making some shots that they shouldn’t be making. Best examples would probably be Dame last year in game 5 with 55 and that 61 against the Mavs, Kawhi against Philly game 7. He didn’t score 50 but in that series in general him getting 35 plus 4 of those games with the way they were sending bodies at him matches that description. LeBron’s games in 2018 in the playoffs. I mean teams were adjusting but sometimes those players getting those shots off, even though defense played as good as they they, is enough for them to go for that much.

      KD ain't selfish enough. He should be more selfish. He could bring his game up some more but I doubt he has the energy to do it. It's easy to say so and so only takes so and so many shots, but in hoops you gotta manage your energy, and Jordan had an abundance of it. Durant is playing at an insanely high level, but could he physically and mentally take it up a notch? We don't know, and I doubt it. Everything becomes a bit harder, the more you do it in the same amount of time. It's like watching elite sprinters. They could keep up with Usain Bolt for like 60 m but they couldn't for the full 100. Usain did more in less time across the same distance.

      Well a lot of this has to do with it being different eras and the rise in 3 point shooting, it is easier to score more on less attempts if you are taking substantially more 3s. Jordan only attempted 1.7 threes a game for his career where as kd attempts 4.9 a game. Not trying to detract from what KD does just giving context.

    Bay Area guy here. Nice interview. This is the problem with Durant though. With the Dubs he was forced to play team basketball. Off the ball. Set down screens. Run the split action. Defend, rebound, and run. Never saw more open looks in his life. And you know what? He whined about it. He talks like an unselfish player but that’s not his tendency on the court, especially when the game gets tight. At the end of halves he would start clapping for the ball, even when rebounders were trying to push the tempo, and everything stopped moving in the half court. That’s why Draymond called him a b***h. It got tiresome. He did great things for the Dubs and had some incredible performances but guess what? Nobody misses him here. Black hole emotionally and on the court. Loved watching him play when he bought into the team concept but it’s just not really in his nature to do that. He’s an iso player at heart. He’ll never win another title and he never would have won one without Steph, Klay, and Draymond.

I mean that in terms of Kevin Durant being able to do pretty much anything and making the most out of his physical tools in such a skillful way. Art to watch that's why KD has been my number 1 player since I got into the league like 6 years ago he got me into basketball.

    KD making it seem like he the only player that makes coaches make adjustments lol. No KD! You haven’t scored 60 because YOU HAVEN’T scored 60. I’ve seen plenty of guys in the nba score 60 efficiently. Curry rarely gets open shots and he’s 6’3 KD, you think that’s easier?! 😄. Dame, Harden, Jordan… bro 😄. I’m just gonna stop. But KD is cold tho

      The problem is u took the comment in a vacuum. If u combine what he said about coaching adjustments with them saying that he always makes the right play and doesn’t force anything it makes sense. Bc when Curry, Harden, etc. scores 60 they’re usually doing stepbacks from 35 with a hand in their face. Regardless of how efficient they are which Curry (for the most part) and Jordan? Yes. Not sure about the other 2 but they force shots that they probably shouldn’t that just go in anyway.

      He has a point. I've been watching a lot of nets games this season. And not five minutes into the game and they're already double-teaming him. That doesn't happen with lebron and the rest of the league. I think it's only with Curry and KD that I've seen this tough defense.

    • @PatrickThomasBrady
      @PatrickThomasBrady Před 2 lety +4

      Yea I don’t get what he was talking about because when a player is going off like that, the opposing coach is making constant adjustments to try to slow him down because it’s never a random role players but the super stars of the league, if a coach didn’t make any in game adjustments then he wouldn’t have a job, and about curry, he’s really working for them points too because he’s constantly moving, running off screens, off ball jukes to lose the defender, and at 6’3 being the greatest 3 point shooter ever, that’s all any team is trying to stop, and he still pours it over bigger and sometimes multiple defenders, kd is 7 ft with a 7’5 wingspan and 33 inch vertical, it’s easier for him to score than it is for curry at 6’3 with a 6’3 wingspan and 35 inch vertical, kd can shoot over most of the league cleanly even if they’re playing good defense and in his face

    I think KD needs to make the adjustments. He's got the skill to easily score 60. Curry gets double and tripled way more but when he goes off, then he goes off big.

      @@brendanbloom3366 Because it seems that you don’t watch basketball, Curry’s gravity exist because of how he is guarded. Dating back to his college days, he has been guarded as such. In the NBA, he remains to be guarded as such. No other player in the league is guarded the way Curry is guarded. He is trapped before he crosses half courts majority of the games he plays. The other times, it happens as SOON as he steps half court. You don’t watch basketball, and that’s okay, but don’t sit here and lie. This is common knowledge. Every once and a while, I'll see someone comment about KD having a "quiet" 30+ or 40+ game. this is probably why.
    You can watch an entire game live, see he's doing well, then still be surprised at the end when you see how many points and shot attempts he has.
