  • In the fall of 1991, Queensryche released "Operation: LIVEcrime", a live video commemorating the enormously popular "Mindcrime" tour, which had translated the album concept into a theatrical performance.
    Those who saw it live, will never forget it.

    Almost 35yrs later, this album, still as fresh and exciting and dynamic and still gives me goosebumps and tears of joy. Opening for Metallica, then the entire album live, then the theatrical rendition, all of it, I remember now. I can't remember yesterday, but I remember. A masterpiece, on the 'deserted island' top ten list.

    I am a Life-long Hardcore RUSH fan but Rage For Order and Operation: Mindcrime were all I was listening to for quite a while. Bought the CDs several times over. Each member of Queensryche brought so much to the table: Geoff Tate is the Vocalist every band would kill for, DeGarmo and Wilton are stellar players, and Rhythm Sections like Eddie Jackson and Scott Rockenfield are few and far between. They are ridiculously tight.

      Carlos I fully agree, and if you listen to his vocals here up against to rage for order live the comparison is huge, considering it’s only 5 years later.
      In fact I think one of the Saddest things about music in general is every great singer peaks very early, and their vocals don’t get any better as time goes on. Having said that some maintain there voice better than others.
      Remember talking to my GNR enthusiast friend about how in Chinese democracy he’d kept his range but lost his power (from Illusions). But then he even pointed out he’d lost a bit of power between appetite and illusions, which was four years apart.
      Kinda like in the same timeframe as Rage to Empire

      Flood Of Memories. Sì,ti ricordo anche che in questa particolare formazione,per questo Album,ci sono anche gli altri componenti della Band. Sicuramente Tate,che è la mia Voce Maschile Preferita in assoluto è Tate e c'è poco da aggiungere,poi per me è un Amico,oltre che Insegnante. Su Degarmo,non ho dubbi sulle sue Qualità Artistiche come chitarrista,non ne ho mai avuti,anzi,ha sempre dato tanto,in più è intonato e ha sempre fatto i cori. Come persona,non lo stimo più da anni perché l'ho conosciuto abbastanza bene da amare ancora in maniera folle Operation Mindcrime,ma per me non è più una persona che considero un Amico oppure una persona sulla riporrei la mia fiducia. L'ha persa tantissimi anni fa, è una persona che non mi piace più da tanto,ha tradito tutti i valori che una relazione di amicizia possa avere ed ha perseverato,per cattiveria sua, perché ha il carattere così. Per fortuna posso ascoltare le canzoni anche senza guardarlo.

    Best live concert performance I've ever seen in my life was this concert. I saw it in Sioux Falls, SD and it was every bit as good as this one filmed for the Mindcrime box set. What I wouldn't give to go back in time and see it all over again. The whole band was at its peak and this, IMHO, was one of the best rock albums ever made.

    • @mountaineerndixie
      @mountaineerndixie Před 10 lety +6

      Ditto. Charleston, WV here and even though it was the Empire Tour, the Mindcrime portion blew away so many great bands/shows I've loved and seen over my 30+ years of concert going. This CD stays in my car player at all times and goes round and round and round....it never gets old. Mindcrime = Musical masterpiece.

      I've NEVER seen better live performances than Queensryche!! What also amazes me is how Geoff can consistently deliver vocals that are so rich in expression, emotion, and texture, and he does it just as well in the studio as he does live! The passing of time cannot dull the brilliance and relativity of Queensryche music or lyrics!

    Additionally to this being awesome, anyone else agree that they had one of the coolest logos of all time? Their basic logo (think they called it the tri ryche) looks like some sort of cross between the batman logo and the Ultimate Warrior’s, and reminds me a bit of a palm tree as well.
    On top of that they added to it brilliantly for this album, signifying crimes against the mind (control, manipulation etc) by putting it firmly front and centre inside someone’s head, with other hints of mind control thrown in from the outer part. Very clever
