- Meghan Markle's podcast Archetypes has been officially CANCELLED and Spotify has officially DROPPED the couple from its roaster, in the first official massive failure for the Sussexes in Hollywood. This is HUGE.
After weeks if not months of hinting that Archetypes would have a season two, the show failed to gain enough support for Spotify to keep it around, and Meghan has failed to secure another company to continue the project. They claim they want it to continue, but the writing is on the wall. Harry and Meghan have FAILED. Hollywood is increasingly less interested in the Sussexes and more dismissive of the couple after it's become clear that the only product the couple can move is connected with the monarchy, and that's it. It's also another sign of the couple's growing problems behind-the-scenes. So, what do you think?

I actually listened to all the episodes and I was a little bit shocked how someone can be so self-obsessed. I was truly fascinated by how bad the podcast was and how unlikeable this woman actually is.

You know, if the royal family did or have said anything against them or made any statement, they could be accused of ruining things for them. Maybe they will finally learn that the U.S. doesn't care one piddle about royal titles. It means nothing to us. If you a royal with some kind of talent, that's one thing. For instance, I watched Prince Edward's series on British history and he did a great job. He has a degree in history and loves it. Meghan loves Meghan and she's not very interesting.

People think that H & M were given big fat cheques by Spotify, Netflix etc. They were actually given lengthy contracts to sign, and a generous advance. The podcasts produced thus far are just awful....all about Meghan. Their Netflix contract has similar conditions. The millions are slowly diminishing.
No wonder M is accepting free loan cars and accessing theatres via Hertz showrooms.
They are living far above their worth, something that never ends well.

Spotify fired 400 employees to pay the Snake in the grass $15 million dollars for the series of podcast, if one can call it that,
which flop and failed to meet expectations; therefore I am not surprised they DROP the deal with the hostage and the handler.

Mmmmmh, I think I’m still a bit contemptuous of them wasting so much resource on two obviously talentless hacks. They didn’t exactly hide their aggressive mediocrity yet Spotify and Netflix gave them the farm. A good decision now after an embarrassingly unprofessional decision earlier.

Their problem is they are so irritating that viewers would much rather watch people who review their content, than actually listening / watching the gruesome twosome themselves. I think that if they kept quiet about the RF & focused their energy on the actual deals, maybe they could have had a second season. Not because the content was good, but because people would still be curious. They are a prime example that over-exposure, even if linked to trendy topics, won't get you anywhere.
Wow! You hit the nail on the head for me. Although I had no interest in Oprah interview, Netflix doc, Finding Freedom or Harry's book, I have been fascinated by reading and hearing the reviews of them. It's not that I wish for their downfall, just that I have been amazed at how much deception they have been able to get away with and how some people still favor and support them despite all the lies.

Lesson to Spotify....never pay anyone upfront. Especially NOT $18 MILLION. If you pay a tradesmen upfront for a job you'll be waiting ages for them to complete it. They already have your money. EDIT: they won't get paid the whole amount thank god! They shouldn't pay them more than $10K - that's all it was worth. They must have been paid a decent amount. Markle would have weighed up being paid say $3 mill for one season of podcasts that she barely did any work for or make any effort, was a pretty good pay day for her.

I believe that the dreary duo pitched both Spotify and Netflix the infamous half-in, half-out schtik - ‘behind the scenes’ with the royals. Their bloated egos never imagined that they wouldn’t be able to force their way to half-in, half-out, cheerfully selling everyone else’s privacy while maintaining all the perks of being royal.
Which validates they already knew they were leaving the RF and signed these contracts prior to Megexit. Then when QE nixed half in - half out, they panicked and truly believed taking the path they did would give them what they wanted from the RF. Imagine the looks of horror on their faces when the RF called their bluff and said go ahead. Hence, the many faces of the whinger that we get to see b/c he can’t believe he shot himself in the foot, again and again.

It could not come quick enough, what a load of garbage. Their titles are all that got them that deal, because it certainly wasn't content and talent. Spotify fell for the hype and should sue for a refund of all the money they paid them.

Did Spotify not ask for a sample before offering them such a lucrative deal? Even as a teacher, we are often asked to teach a class to show how we manage the kids and the work, before being offered a post!
They banked on using them as namesakes, and just surrounding them with real talent. They ignored the rumors, and failed to realize just how difficult they can be. They likely turned down anything that was pitched, and only made weak pitches themselves. Meghan is only interested in making herself look saintly and glamorous.

Especially when the next set of games are scheduled to start I think, September 9th. One would expect hype being generated over the 2023 games vs showing the 2022 games. Especially if the whinger and hag are going to dominate the scenes. That will seriously hurt the viewership of the 2023 games. Would be a very poor business move.

In college, there are students who work extraordinarily hard to get their degree. Their sacrifices are rewarded after years of sweat and determination. THEN, there are students like Meghan and Harry. They don’t show up for classes and fail to put in any substantial work.
They talk a lot about what they will do - but put in no effort. They complain about low grades to the professors and party their college days away. The “institution” is the problem and not them.
They are shocked when they are put on probation and then finally kicked out.
This is Meghan and Harry. They were given a free scholarship and did nothing but
piss the opportunity away. Spotify and Netflix finally woke up and booted them out.

If they had actually worked hard to fulfill their contract, they would have already provided the content to Spotify and been paid. They waited so long, Spotify had plenty of time to assess and terminate...Invictus for Netflix will probably have the same fate - the 2023 Games are almost here - 2022 is old news. Wonder if they'll giddy up and get those books done so Penguin Random House doesn't cancel as well.....These two are a train wreck!
Sounds like they are both very lazy and honoring their contracts might actually involve some real mental and physical work. They still don't seem to understand that they are no longer working (there comes that word again, work) royals or actually royals at all and why they have to do real work to make enough money to support their lavish lifestyle.

At the end of the day it all comes down to they don't want to work. They want the money without any effort.
This producing content job wasn't part of the Megxit plan. They wanted to still have a foot in with the Royal Family and that would have provided some content and interest in them from the public. Unfortunately with them trashing the RF, and that now running out of steam and public interest, they are left with having to produce their own content. The titles alone don't count for much with the public, as they are pretty much without meaning when they no longer have a relationship with the RF.

Great analysis as always. The problem the world now has is her association with Tyler Perry. With his recent success in acquiring a black network, MM eyes must have lit up. He is her only hope/meal ticket to succeed. Therefore, she will try to resurrect Pearl, Archetype and any other mediocre things in her head. The problem the world now faces is that Tyler Perry has a fondness for MM, so like Harry he is blind. Also he is the godfather of her child. When he starts working with MM (not Harry), he will encounter the same problem as Netflix and Spotify (both have no talent and are difficult to work with / bulling stuff), but does he have the business head on or the personal friend hat on when things go wrong. Spotify and Netflix have no emotional ties with MM but Tyler Perry does, so he will make loads of mistakes trying to help MM and be in the same situation as Harry. Tyler Perry will also take a lot of the flack, with his own staff of the new network working tiresome to get the work done and MM doing her 1 hour a week and blaming other people. MM and Harry used their title to be where they are, are unwilling to learn the craft and be good at it, this is because others jump on the banwagon without knowing that both were talentless. So Tyler Perry is the person to watch, because nobody in the industry are willing to help the Harkles, and Harry will need to watch both his wife and Tyler because the apple does not fall far, when someone already has a trial of men she leaves because she feels that the new man has more money and status for her own benefit. MM will have to use more of the bronzer now.
TBH, I do not understand the relationship between Tyler Perry and Meghan. Tyler Perry is not a stupid person but surely he has to be questioning some of the things he has seen or the gossip and articles that are out there. (Of course all I know is what I read or see in social media so who knows how true they really are). It also makes me wonder that if they are such good friends as the media says, he has his own production company so why hasn’t he made movies and had her star in them? I would have a hard time believing that she would turn him down if he told her that he had a movie that he wanted her to star in.

She featured him on her Mockementary with him not saying anything complementary about the Royals. This is why she made him godfather to her daughter so he becomes the ultimate cash cow to her and her child. MM would never act in his movies because as you have already seen his cast as majority people of colour. Despite MM saying she is a person of colour she does not identify as one since she has never been in a black movie. Perry will not put his business hat on for MM, he will give her another chance by supporting her being in the back scene like her being executive producer for her project Pearl. This is their relationship. After the fact that she called the paps for the drones circulating around his house when nobody knew where Perry lived, he will now put a distance between them, but not that much of a distance.
That’s interesting news to me. I like him, and consider him more genuine and more genuinely creatively inspired than these two hacks. Maybe he can help them actually do something to be proud of. If not, the muses who inspire such true poets may also protect him from hacks. God bless him and his endeavor.
Hello Britney, You are spot on about Meghan. I would have liked to have seen her invite ordinary middle-class women to talk about their issues instead of listening to her high-profile friends. These women have a platform for their voices already. To me, she is still social climbing. She wants recognition without effort. Until she rolls up her sleeves and starts working tirelessly for the underprivileged, she will never achieve the status of activist and humanitarian she desperately desires.
This is not going to happen. There is no hard work in Megan. Megan always climbs the social latter and acquires money via the men she either associates with or marries. That is Megan's only talent and so far she has used that talent very well.

Royal History podcast…Brilliant!! Another thought expanding on your idea: Take on the history of the European monarchy country by country. Intrigue, murder, romance, treachery etc etc. Each country’s monarchy history can be explored from their respective origin to current day. This will allowyou to take on 1 country-1 season and so on. H&M will fizzle out…history is an endless supply of content and its your sweet spot!
I would love to see and learn about the history of all royal families. This is something to look forward to. 😊

If Netflix releases the Invictus movie it will get a huge backlash. People are sick of their pr campaigns but also people in America think too much money was spent on fashion & jewelry for Megaliar. The movie should have been about the veterans and the money should have been spent on them rather than her fashion.
It should be obvious to anyone familiar with basic arithmetic that their bills have to be eating them alive while their revenue streams are drying up. You cannot count on some titles and schemes to benefit you forever with no talents or work to back them up.

Spotify only completed with 37 production staffers! Netflix only completed after Netflix hired staff to actually produce the "fictional drama".
The news actually gets worse: Ben Simmons (head of global sports continent for Spotify) called them “grifters” in an interview and said that he was going to share a story about Harry trying to come up with Spotify content. Usually, this is the kind of thing you would expect to come out in a leaked email. The fact that he felt comfortable saying this on the radio means that Harry and Meghan have absolutely zero respect in the entertainment space behind the scenes. Not even basic professional courtesy is being extended to them.

This cancellation was really a market correction. A clear message for Spotify not to sell word salads packaged with a silky voice with a contract awarded on the basis of Nepotism.

Bravo to the Royal Family for standing by their motto of never explain never complain. They held true to that, they held true to their dignity & they showed the world that they got on with their work. They never once spoke out about m&h, they always put family event invites out to them, so in the long game they played it well. I said from the beginning that this was a likely outcome, why it took so long surprises me. What does it say about this company that their judgement is this poor that they gave a contract to people who had no experienced producing any type of content?!
You are correct, you can tell how well researched your work is.... But their Netflix was about their own lives, she had very interesting guests on Spotify but she didn't really interview them, every question was aimed at her being able to talk about herself. It was so sickeningly narcissistic it was embarrassing.

Yes, perhaps because now there will only be private visits offered. There was a unique period of events with the Queen's platinum jubilee, her funeral and Charles' coronation but now there will be nothing official and public for a long time (hopefully - long live the King!)
