Well done! Thank you for sharing your experience
Insta360 is BOLD!!! Giving creators their cameras and competitors for review. That's why I mess with Insta360!!! Great review!!!
Great review! I’d love to try one of these.
Excellent comparison. Love your videos! Thank you.
I'm very intrigued by this camera. I'm still running the first GoPro (I know I'm slow to change). You noted 5 great strong points. Is there anything you felt that GoPro had an advantage? What part of So. Cal are you in? The neighborhoods you ride in look very familiar.
Does that magnetic quick release mount can handle motobike speed and won't dettach?
Thanks for the review and the transparency up top! I haven't gotten into the action camera market yet but I'm considering taking the plunge, and my primary use case would be documenting bike rides, so your opinion definitely carries some weight. The camera definitely seems like a strong contender with the LCD screen and Apple watch/workout integration for those on-screen overlays. I'm curious about the different mounting options cyclists use. Is the consensus that the chest-mount is the best approach? I originally assumed it would just be a handlebar mount like next to my light or something. Are there downsides to that approach? Is the chest rig annoying to wear? Thanks!
Thx for the input! Handlebar mounted cameras are typically not as dynamic, nor are top of helmet mounts. The chesty mount is very stable, and seems to offer the most immersive video.
It's a really interesting camera! I love that screen and the low-light! The lack of 10bit, LOG and the ability to modify for c-mount are the only reasons I won't jump ship. Ultimately it should push competitors to make better products. Thanks for sharing this review!
Great feedback, thx!
I see you’re familiar with the back-bone mod for gopro??
@@Quanijuana Indeed!
Hey, is it possible to lock the horizon with the Ace pro like with the Lens Mod? Just curious, I'm looking to get a new camera for my mtb adventures.
Yes, you can turn on horizon lock
OFF TOPIC Can I use the FALCAM F22 Quick Release Kit for Insta360 that I use with my Insta 360 X3?
Any difference in image stabilization?
How did you turn off the HDR?
What's the highest SD card capacity the Ace Pro will accept?
Low light stabilization for mountain biking is a game changer. Unfortunately, PureVideo mode does not have horizon lock which is an important requirement for my videos.
What program do you use to edit your videos?
Premiere pro
God damn that Spindatt shirt looks good on you.
I missed that Bike Sauce easter egg. Good catch. XD
It’s a good one 😀
My question is that since GoPro typically updates their processor every three years, is it worth it to wait for the 13 to see what upgrades they have.
GoPro was on heavy attack by DJI and Insta these year because he was publish 12 almost same like 11 so I'm sure 13 will have great improvement and worth to wait, but question is price. Maybe price will be higher then 12.
yeah so no points for the GoPro? None. When you drop that fancy camera what happens when the screen is out?
Does it overheat as gopro hero 12?no one talk about that
I have been searching for that exact information. Trying to record son's baseball games (in the summer) has been so challenging due to heat, that even 1080 recording on a 100 degree day is difficult ...yes, I have set up shades, etc. Now looking to incorporate a fan using external battery -that is also used for the cameras as no batteries last an entire game...But the overheating! So far, the best has been the OA3 (compared to 360OneRS, and Heros 6,7,8) BTW -the Hero7 is second best.
insta360 ace pro or dji pocket 3 pls replay
2 very different cameras. Tough to compare. The dji action 4 is a closer camera
Great review & the surface is barely scratch. Hope in future you can compare its 8-bit vs 10-bit, any banding or posterize issues, etc.
Seems some of those features are more for vlogging rather than action use.
Also! The camera doesn’t have the AI warp feature because the processor isn’t good enough and is entirely app based. You also have to pay for it after 3 months, but they dont put that in the ad
I use my GoPro for mountain biking and I'm going to stick with it because the stabalaztion is better, it has a remove lens cover, it has 10bit color, it has a wider field of view, and with the Gopro labs firmware it unlocks a lot of cool and useful features. I also don't film anything in the dark, and If I did, I wouldn't be using an action camera LOL. Also I see the flip up screen on the Insta360 as a week point.
He skipped all this obvious stuff in his unbiased review.
The Ace Pro has some seriously interesting features but also a few no-deal issues for me. 1 - the flip screen. This just seems a part that will not age well. Grit and whatnot getting into the hinge seems problematic. In the PNW we have too many seriously muddy/rainy/gritty days. And 2 - the fact that it is only integrated for GPS with Garmin and not other major brands. After years of trouble with Garmin due to poor products and a lack of accountability and customer service, I abandoned them. And almost everyone I ride with had similar experiences. We all use Hammerhead or Wahoo now ... maybe if Insta360 reach out and expand their compatibility in the future this would be better.
Your two points, i feel may not be a problem? Insta go 3 flip screen for example in our case has been used in some mad fun ,the flip screen with all the dust and sand and mud and other such stuff, hasn’t had any probs, used every day since it came out . its well made.the GPS can be used on Apple Watch and I’ve been told future upgrades software etc will make other smart watches and such, available. To their cameras especially the AP
@@drstew1 Good to hear they have upgrades planned ... I hope they get the gps situated with other brands. I guess with the flip screen I just know how covered my stuff has gotten thru the winters here. So much mud and grime. I will wait to see what people say after a full winter of use. Thank you for your input.
Higher resolution matters
“one main light post” … there is a shadow from a light behind you and another light to the right of the frame.
Main, or primary. Alludes to the existence of less bright or more distant secondary or tertiary light
😀
Nice advertisement however the field of view (especially vertical) is much wider with the GoPro12 (already without max lens mod 2.0 ) and also the 8:7 sensor of the GoPro gives me opportunity to change FOV easy in post so I do not need to decide between wide, superview and hyperview… and that matters for me as a Mountainbiker much more than a flexible screen, low light performance or AI „cartoons“… there are also flexible mount options from ulanzi which you can use with the GP
I have yet to see a review of the Insta360 Ace Pro that discusses battery life... Why is that?
Good point. I sense that battery life isn’t as big an issue with action camera these days; they all last pretty long. I got a couple hours of 4k 24 pov and vlog style clips with screen flipped open, shooting sporadically over the course of a couple days.
@@TheBikeSauce Thanks, that was exactly what I was wondering. If battery technology has made this a non issue. Great channel BTW.
@@DavCro Apparently I have not. Inventing Conspiracy??? I think you might do well to check yourself...
No monthly subscription is a plus but Osmo Action 4 is better overall. Why no subscription, no stupid flip screen why the heck would you need it. When you ride a motorcycle there is absolutely no reason for a flip screen. Insta also weighs more than the Osmo Action 4. The Osmo Action 4 also has a bundle priced kit way cheaper than Insta Ace Pro. The Osmo and Ace pro are very similar in what they can do. Osmo battery last way longer than the Ace Pro as well. For long rides on motorcycles with the Ace Pro the battery would die quicker and also Osmo plug and play with a motovlogging microphone.
It’s not a motorcycle specific camera
A Gopro 12 just makes no sense anymore with this Ace camera.
It’s insane to me how this “upgrade” still doesn’t support 4K 60fps or even 120fps when its main job is being a camera.. iPhone has been doing it in such a small form factor and its main focus isn’t just being a camera..
450$ seems scammy.
It supports both 4k 60 and 4k 120???
It definitely supports 4k up to 120
Insane to the point of being untrue 😂. Maybe they're talking about the freeframe mode or whatever it's called that lets you choose the crop/aspect ratio later?
I’m so ready to get rid of my GoPro
I am beginning to hate Gopro as they have cheated us customers with what you have explained. I am done with GoPro.
You spoke too soon. Insta360 is starting their own subscription service. AI Warp won’t be free much longer.
☹️
Insta360 ace pro looks amazing, I really want one. What do you say @insta360. Would fit perfect for my channel
Insta360 is heavier than GoPro. It has no 10-bit. Narrower field of view. No "open gate" recording. All those things are very helpful in action videography. No sponsored "reviews" taks about it. Shame.
You can shoot in 4:3, which is the full sensor. That is open gate, right?
Another repeater “review”🙄
ACE PRO HAS NO REPLACEABLE LENS ITS SO STUPID
Solid logic
Why you lie people when you say on go pro you need to screw and then unscrew on chest mount and on insta just use magnetic mount. That is not true. Gopro have buckle mount which is faster and better then magnetic. Why you didint mention that? I understand you promote insta but you cant put people in delusion. Also no one say about problem on DJI with magnetic when after few months of use magnetic mount start to shake. Only few honest youtuber was point that. You all receive stuff from insta and DJI and talking bad about gopro. Beside these is action camera. How long will last flip screen?
GoPro is indeed very bad, paid or not paid. Previous user here. Sworn never again with them.
@@teofilol2666 what was bad by your opinion and what gopro you have?
The lies! The delusion!
@@TheBikeSauce Be honest. Your review is OK, but you was skip to tell downside of Insta. GoPro have buckle mount that is equal like magnetic, insta has flip screen that can cause problem in action, also you cant put protective cases on insta because you cant flip screen then, insta doesnt have removable lense hood so if you scratch you must pay who knows how much to repair. I was spend whole month looking videos and guys who receive cams, make ok videos but in same time doesnt tell downsides of camera and because of that i was switch my mind several times to pick right camera for me and that is why i was say "delusion" Im sorry if I offend you but i was so angry in time i was try to pick right camera because i couldnt trust reviews..
Hi thanks for sharing.
At the moment iam considering to buy one so i watch many compare videos.i use dji products for water activities timelapses and vlog videos i had to many isues with gopro i left it on 7 black and never look back.
So from your video i only know same features insta360 advertise you did not really look for real issues.
It seems in your opinion about camera is like they send you it and you talk good about it.
I like coments and thank you all who mention cons about it.
Thanks again greetings from Mallorca 🫡
