Jerry must have driven his kindergarten teacher out of her mind.
O'frabjous Day Throughout his life
O'frabjous Day yeahhh! He’s an attention seeker
He has the same effect on me. Smart, but hideously obnoxious.
@@lawsonj39 Well put.
He called her attention by saying "Hey Laaaay-De."
These were beautiful respectful times! Great show!
Except when the audience laughed at the man's _"swish of the waves"_ opening, while Jerry just stares at him blankly.
I LOVED this show as a kid. I never saw it in color until now. I still enjoyed this show!
On Buzz TV on cable.
Jerry's son Gary was in a great group with a lot of hits. My favorite song by them was "Count Me In" where Leon Russell was on keys.
Loved "Count Me In" it was my top favorite of theirs. Mom played their albums a lot. So many good songs that weren't hits like "Dreamin".
Is Gary one of the 5 sons he disinherited?
@@sheiladawg1664yeah. I saw an interview with Gary, saying he, unlike other brothers, didn't care if he was cut off of money, as HE made his own, didn't wait for payout.
The Coleman lantern bit had me laughing. When he gave that clue I thought it was a good clue. Here it is 2021, 55 years after this aired and I have a Coleman lantern. It's obvious Audrey, and Jerry never did much camping.
Them camping?...Maybe in the back yards of their Beverly Hills homes.
For me JERRY is on his 40's and he is soooooo handsome 😍
Allen Ludden comes in just like Arlene Francis on "What's My Line."
Lol!
Maybe that's 'cause he's Cerfing ..
4:05 the contestant grabs Audrey Meadows' face, and Audrey quickly removes her hands in a single gesture.
She had no right to get that intimate and personal with someone who has no relation to her.
Audrey grabbed her hands as Priscilla removed them.
I missed him in the MDA telethon.
He could make a sad event enjoyable.
Jerry is great here so funny and brilliant knew many people who worked with him he was a great guy. Loved Jerry Lewis!
I all ways love jerry he was awesome
I would be NERVOUS playing with Jerry Lewis! 😬
Audrey Meadows CALMLY gave the clues, and she CALMLY guessed the passwords.
She really did. This was fun to watch:)
Jerry even considered himself obnoxious and abrasive at times, which is apparent, but he was brilliant in more ways than one, like it or not. I always thought he was funny, and no, I'm not French. 🤣🤣
At 2:00 Jerry Lewis starts picking at his wedding ring like it’s a scab while talking about his son
Maybe the baby's father is the UPS driver?
Jerry looked very uncomfortable talking about someone else’s success, especially his own son’s success, when he really wanted to (once again) talk about himself. Obviously some hard feelings towards his son, considering that he said “yeah - I like him”. Wasn’t a very convincing show of love towards his son. Very awkward.
He disowned his son , jealous of him and it showed
@@beckygilmore4798 his children got extremely bad habits alcoholism drug use the fact that Gerry ( Gerry & pacemakers ) took the side of some wack woman who claimed she was his daughter even after dna kept saying no should tell you something .I suggest you Google this BS before you spew it on CZcams
@@dfangirl72 it’s Gary Lewis and the playboys. It’s also a very known fact that Jerry has a ego the size of mountain. He didn’t work well with others and the divorce was ugly . He treated ex wife and those children terribly
This one is very very good.
Vintage "Password" with Ludden is fun because you also get to see celebrities of yesteryear who you are familiar with. This would be nice to see on some over-the-air DTV subchannel in my vicinity, which I'm unsure if Password is on any of them. Anyway, you not only get to see these movie/TV stars, but you also get to see them in their real life (not acting on a tv show), as well as you also get to see them as when they were still alive. Kinda sad really. Time flies when you're having fun.
I always loved Password. I didn't realize Gary Lewis was his son. Cool.
I love finding these old passwords! It would make it even better if we could see the commercials that were on at the time. Thanks for playing these videos! Love it! Brings back good memories!
Love Jerry Lewis! Lol
15:26 Audrey is by far the funniest person on that set
Agreed.
1 laugh in a week lol. Nice try
"Audrey Meadows was the only member of the Honeymooners cast to earn residuals after the '"Classic 39' episodes of the show from 1955 to 1956 started airing in reruns. Her brother Edward, a lawyer, had inserted a clause into her original contract whereby she would be paid if the shows were re-broadcast, thus earning her millions of dollars."
I love and appreciate Audrey Meadows' sauciness at 15:26!
EJBTravels: It's a Man baby.
We always enjoyed Audrey. With Jackie Gleason, in the Honeymooners. I remember Password when I was growing up. Always a pleasure to see.
@@maxinehuebner9999 I agree:) And it's always good to watch her inspired performances, especially here, to keep us entertained for a long time. And I should add that nothing beats the original "Password"!
And wouldn't you know the next password to come up...ALIMONY!
I love rediscovering this show, but good lord, I didn't expect the comment section to be so vicious...and I spend most of my time on Twitter. Y'all are nuts.
I deactivated Twitter. I bet it's so peaceful after the cheat by mail fiasco
Nothing nuts about someone who spends most of his time on Twitter
It cool to watch the old show...yes. But didn't you notice how big a prick Jerry Lewis was being?? He was a mean, stuck up, rude asshole to other people. He let fame get to his head. That's why all the negative comments.
Jerry is the cutest, most adorable man I have ever seen
Careful, Julie, or you might be accused of being French.
Jerry, Jerry, Jerry. Relax. Have a good time. You don't have to prove anything.
Exactly!
I think you hit it right on the head. That seemed to be an issue he had. He felt he always had to go 100%. If he’d relaxed a little it may have helped him. That said, he was a very talented entertainer.
Always thought of Jerry Lewis and Robin William's always "ON"
They both had very unique personalities..... they made us laugh, while hurting inside! 😔
I had family members like that!
3:15 she grabs Audrey's hand after guessing the word, and continues to hold it. And Audrey seems to actually yank her hands away, like, "ok, you can let go now"
I caught that too. Lol
I think Jerry really was Buddy Love…
This show had some big stars on it ..
This was when Gary Lewis (Jerry's son) was having his biggest success with his group The Playboys.
No shit, Sherlock
Walt Gekko and Jerry was jealous
@@joeambrose3260 Not everyone realizes Gary Lewis was indeed Jerry's son.
@@WaltGekko No shit, I thought he was the son of grandpa Munster
@@Wowwwzaaa I felt that too! Jerry was a very complex man! Very intelligent but almost narcissistic.
Good sportsmanship was apparently a challenge for Jerry Lewis. Audrey Meadows was probably irritated by him, but she behaved with restraint.
Kerosene is the clue they needed to use
After Jerry took Gloria's hand he sent her a look. THAT look. Good god!!
I saw that!!!
What look?
When did this happen?
Jerry was very handsome
Allen to Jerry Lewis, "you're a nice man". Uh, no he wasn't. But you were Allen, one of the best.
I suspect the director took a good, stiff drink when this one was done. Trying to contain Jerry Lewis in that type of setting would be an awful task.
Yeah, he was annoying and obnoxious.
Annoying and obnoxious? Lighten up a little it’s just humor
@@brittchafin7054 When it's steeped in the compulsive anger behind Jerry's eyes it becomes tedious very quickly.
I can see why Dean dumped him, what a narcissistic jerk.
So empty sack of need. Helluva Password player, though. One of the best..
Apparently Jerry keeps his lit cigarette in his sock.
God what happen to tv and the stars we loved. man things have change for
the worst.
Far out Jeff Goldblum has aged incredibly well
I don't know why it's so funny when he says hi friends 🤣 but it kills me 😁
Just noticed all the open seats in he back during the intro, I guess they weren’t concerned with filling the theater for daytime
@ You okay?
I dreamt I was hanging out with Jerry and through the whole dream I was following him from show to meetings and it was nonstop. The endurance it takes to keep on going and all the while showing your best side I was exhausted. I just wanted to go home and relax. These people have got endurance.
What's funny is Coleman & their lantern products are still being made today, even if they are now LED's. Yet in this episode they are making fun of it because it is an old product at that time, which is true as Coleman is a century-old brand, still going strong today.
The gas models are still made.
I half-expected Lee to use the clue "Coleman" for the word "wick." Too bad Audrey got the answer.
I thought the same thing. It was old in 1966 yet still around in 2021!
I trust a Coleman stove more than I trust my kitchen stove.
I still use the gas ones. No battery to go low and works well when wet.
Love watching this
I have always enjoyed Jerry in his movies but never as himself in real life. He seems like a difficult person to be around.
Jerry was the biggest star in the world in the 50s !
Freeze it at 10:45. Allen is telling the audience what he thinks of them.
Holy moly, you're right!
Jerry Lewis was a very smart man with a high IQ besides being a funny man
And obnoxious.
@@jamesmcinnis208 I found him underrated because he was with the " idol" dean Martin .the straight movies he did after dean Martin showed he could've been a leading man .
@@jamesmcinnis208 extreme obnoxious
Many comics are funny but have a certainly level of meanness to them. Lewis was no exception. He was always a petulant child. I don't know how people worked with him.
@Klowny Hey, nobody with a small ego goes into show business 😄
Gloria is like "When can I get away from this guy?"
I kept thinking, say camping.
Me too!
Favorite comedian-Jerry Lewis! Rest in peace.
renee braxton he’s a dickhead! He gave nothing to his sons when he died
@@Wowwwzaaa what was the reason not to leave his sons nothing
Yes, when he was on interview shows and game shows he was incredibly smart and funny like his movies!
He was a great Comic! I agree
@@Wowwwzaaa All comics are dickheads!
Jerry couldn't let go of the cigarette
Everyone has habits
This is a good one.
I think Jerry had ADHD lol.
So do I lol. I’m serious. He once said that he liked to focus on things that were moving constantly. That may be a sign of autism too, but we can’t be sure
One thing for sure...he was a conceited asshole in real life. What an ego he had.
@@MegaSkills9I agree. I met him in person. He was the way you said and he was also mean.
@@xovzyzoxuyr9633 I once met Robin Williams when he was alive and he was also very rude and mean. I think many celebrities get that way once they are rich and famous.
Being funny sometimes often times comes from emotional pain. You use that pain by saying things that almost come out vengeful, but your heart tempers it and it ultimately becomes funny upon delivery. Jerry was bullied and he turned being bullied into a positive through comedy. His audience soothed his hurt and he gave them sincere raw comedy. He was a genius and worldwide was loved. He left us endless laughter through seeing our vulnerability he gave us. He ultimately was a boy. A child we always remember in ourselves.
I heard MOST comedians are dark, disturbed individuals.
@@lindaf4836 ive heard most cooks eat 8 bags of cheetos between 1155 and 12 midnight.
Jerry was estranged from all five of his sons, left them all out of his will, and only let two of them attend his funeral. Gary Lewis wasn’t one of them.
wow........class post
Pretty in pink.
I only watch this show because of Jerry! He's so funny and smart! Making jokes and faces all the time! That man was great! Oh, and very handsome too!!❤❤❤
100% chance of pure entertainment!
Jerry was nearly universally despised by his peers. It's easy to see why.
4:05 Hands off the make-up, kiddo.
I was shocked to see that lady grab Audrey Meadows face like that!!
So was Audrey !!!! (notice she pulled her hands away)
The female contestant in yellow dress is sporting a gorgeous hairdo...and she was a wonderful sport with Jerry.
Audrey Meadows was really intelligent
Jerry cracks me up. So funny
Are you French?
Jerry Lewis loves to win.
10:46 Allen's hand.
Audrey Mai yeah his fingers were bent!
They should've said "Chinese" for "Lantern" - Audrey was born in China and she would've gotten it immediately.
Aladdin
I was thinking after one or two clues, 'kerosene' would have wrapped it up.
@@swully-ol4lxBut that was a lamp, not a lantern.
Green
Jerry had to maintain his 4-packs a day!
His addiction is a pitiful thing to see.
It was normal for people to smoke back then.
4:05 The contestant was pretty 'Loose' here. She grabbed Audrey's face 😂
Then Audrey takes her hands. Wonder if she took them in order to get them off her face. Haha
@@coreybrix1215 I thought that too.
@@coreybrix1215 Funny I thought the same thing!
You know she was like bitch please
Also notice before that after getting the word right she grabbed Audrey's hand and kept holding it. Audrey seemed to yank her hands away, like, let go.
Check it
He missed it … “you think Coleman pays alimony?”
USED TO THINK THIS SHOW WAS FOR OUT OF WORK ACTORS ... WOW HEAVY WEIGHTS
Can't go without a smoke for just half hour ..
OMG Jerry was Obnoxious!
You just want to slap him.
So!
Seems like Larry had been rehearsing his hobby speech and was really excited to give it
Jerry was a smart guy!
He was very intelligent. I just never got into his humor.
Like many of the young stars of the time smoking did not serve them well. Too bad the dangers of smoking wasn’t advertised more.
Jerry is hilarious!
Smart...funny...but extremely conceited and a bit of an asshole to other people.
@@MegaSkills9 YES!!!
Jerry's high energy comedy a little reminiscent of the late Robin Williams.
Except Williams was funny.
A fine line between funny and stupid. Yes, they were alike.
The contestants went on these shows to win money. Jerry was more interested in performing and making people laugh than playing the game for the contestants' benefit.
True. And being a daft, loud, self-promoting jerk, he ruined the show completely.
If you think he is bad, check out the Match Game episodes where Joyce Bulifant, Patti Deutsch, and Fannie Flagg try to be funny and cost people money at serious stages of a contest.
Jerry, unmistakably, was an attention hound who liked to hear himself speak, see himself perform. He came off as obnoxious and over the top. But, he did give some intelligent clues and gave some equally intelligent answers for the overall week.
I would like to see the first episode from 11/7/66, though.
@@markgaston4416 You might be able to google it. Just a thought. I have been able to find episodes that way a couple of times.
@@readytogo3186 Thank you so much. I have checked Google before, but found the episodes of November 8-11 of 66. The seventh couldn’t be found.
@@markgaston4416 Sorry. I have also had that happen.
At 9:50, Jerry should've said… "DOLLLL...."
O.O o.O O.o 0.0
That's the Professor Fate, Laugh !
🤨😮😯😮😯😮😂
Funny😊👍bigtime❤️
Coleman is a well known brand of camping gear
I've just learnt this new English word: COALMAN. Love it.
@ Oh so it wasn't "coalman"? Good to know.
camporosso Yes. Coleman. “We outfit your outdoors” was their slogan.
oy vey.... 🤕 Coleman , as in Coleman Camp stoves and Coleman Lanterns and Coleman Tents.
Jerry ♥️♥️♥️
Gloria barely got away from losing some digits to Jerry in that first round.
These stars never left their mansions to go camping with a Coleman lantern. So OUT OF TOUCH!
Jerry was really whacky in this one.
Funny they talk about Coleman … we have many items
I think Jerry Lewis had a personality disorder. He shifted during the show from calm and respectful to loud, and biting, literally and figuratively. I always thought there was something unpredictable about him since he did the Muscular Dystrophy telethons.
Jerry Lewis is funny and cute.
I wonder what happened in Jerry's childhood that made him so mean to his kids.
HIs dad wasn't so nice.
just because you hear or read a one sided story doesn't make it true or a lie there are 2 sides to every story .
@@dfangirl72 Well, my opinion is that Joan Crawford wasn't the best of mothers.

Cuz they ask for more money thru the courts and won…and Sneaky Sleazy Asshole Jerry redid his Will …And Didn’t tell his kids…Wonderful Lovable Jerry.
Lewis was just so offensive to everybody.
He hated everyone equally
Jerry Lewis isn't half as funny as he thinks he is.
🎻🎻🎻
So rare to see Jerry Lewis not playing a character on TV. More a real person.
Wow, couldnt go 30mins without smoking. Im shocked he made it to 90
Definitely showed the difference between normal folks amd.hollywood types
Would hate to be near that set with second hand smoke
These people were the real deal. Not like these phoney celebrities today.
7 50 butts ashes in slot, pure star power...
I Love Italian Food and Men!
Jerry Lewis was Italian
Around 21:00, "Precipitancy" sounds like the title of another game show.
