- It’s time for Atlas to pick up a new set of skills and get hands on. In this video, the humanoid robot manipulates the world around it: Atlas interacts with objects and modifies the course to reach its goal-pushing the limits of locomotion, sensing, and athleticism.

@@jamesmiller9707 And also the software must be pretty advanced, of course.
Descarguenlo en la ultima calidad veran que es perfecto mas perfecto que real
The most impressive action in my opinion was jumping to the randomly landed box it had knocked over. The software to quickly map it’s new location and successfully move forward is mind blowing.
Most likely scripted tbh-
But it's flexibility and strength are already impressive enough
@@eisiamthegoddess4278 99% scripted.
I think Antonio was pointing out that that jump couldn't have been totally choreographed since the location of the box couldn't be completely pre determined.
@@eisiamthegoddess4278 for the record we absolutely have the tech to do shit like calculate landing vectors n shit
Even if it’s scripted here, it won’t be for very long
@@dougaltolan3017of course it could have been totally accepted. You knock the box over a few times, mark it's position and have the robot land so that it would have been successful for every time it was knocked over. That motion and gravity are going to have a pretty easily predictable location. The box wasn't randomly thrown, it was pushed over to fall a very short distance with a very flat and predictable landing. EASILY SCRIPTED.
It's running a script not an AI algorithm. They're testing their robot building capabilities not their programming capabilities
I wonder what the code looks like for the "easing" around the movements. In natural human movement momentum plays a huge part in how our arms swing, when we twist and jump. Fascinating to try and program that sort of inertial movement into a robot. Amazing!
I'm assuming the code is written with respect to real-time gyroscope collected data. This way the physics are essentially causing a cycle of data input and data output. But that's just my guess
@@DivinesLegacy Are you so angry because you're a Virgin, or are you a Virgin because you're so angry?
They could just get CHATGPT to write all their code now.
I don’t think that process is actually complicated enough to need custom written code behind it. PID loops are very good at getting motion control applications to move incredibly smoothly. That whole process can be accomplished within a dedicated control board contained within the servo actuator. The only information or code it needs is where to position the actuator, and the control loop will handle itself, though the terms would probably need to be manually tuned before running a program reliably, and the programming environment would need to be mature enough to prohibit impossible commands (like say, attempting to move an arm 180° instantaneously -among other things.)
Probably inverse kinematics + Dynamic stabilisation with a PID feedback loop connected to inertia sensor. You can take a look at James Bruton's Open Dog, he is doing nice stuff.
Boston dynamic technology is truly extraordinary, creating a new human civilization
Here's a great commercial idea:
There's people and robots at work.
The people are playing a game of cards.
The robots are working hard.
One of the persons at the card table gets up and asks if they need help.
The robot just slowly looks over in disbelief.
As an AI researcher, I've been following Boston Dynamics' robots for over a decade. To see PETMAN in its early days evolve into something like this is truly inspirational. It's like watching a child growing up, from a toddler barely able to stand on two feet to a kid running and falling down, to a teenager now exploring its place in the world.
I think his movements are scripted.
@@DeepDeepEast his?
@@DeepDeepEast also yes they pre make the moves, but the environment is all interpruted inside the robot, as well as the actions, the robot is still adapting to the environment it just knows what to generally do already, they don't necessarily program every single movement.
pure gold : O
@@DeepDeepEast Yeah. some of it is definitely scripted. A robot wouldn't just do a backflip for no reason. It's to demonstrate specific capabilities, in the case of the flip, two axes movement. There's a behind the scene video that talked about what's scripted in the scene and what's not. For example, the robot was only given a general area to look for the utility bag, it has to scan the area, identify the bag, figure out how to pick up the bag and pick it up anticipating the weight. Each one of these steps require some kind of algorithm / AI.
The run up part is all scripted. But that part is showing off the physical capability of the robot, running across that narrow plank smoothly is something that many humans can't even do (or are afraid to do) When it tosses the bag up to the worker, it has to adjust the force applied to the weight of the bag, to make sure it lands at the right spot, without hitting the worker. Then after that it's just style points.
that last flip was actually terrifying
It was a sick trick.
I think the word you're trying to say is "terrific"
Cool*
Imagine being arrested by one of those robots 😂
That victory grip at the end. 😂
This level of advancement is amazing! I remember these machines as a kid, they could barely walk across the floor, look at them now! Congrats! 🎉
@Пользователь Ютуб I have to read that one. Thanks
Congrats for what? That is terrifying!! As kids we wanted flying cars robots etc but now that we’re getting there it’s scary af smh
It’s cgi dude they literally did a cgi video in the past
FANTASTIC 🔥
@@qdontae6Relax. More fake crap. It’s always fake, except for the real basic stuff maybe.
Can’t even describe how cool it is. That’s insane!
Atlas can you fetch me my toolbag - I forgot it again? Ok thanks that's great. Wait, Atlas, what are you doing with the new aircon unit waiting to be installed. No! Stop! Don't push that!! //loud crash followed by hysterical noises and a lady screaming 'somebody call 911!'...
It's very good that a costuction company can afford such a nice helper 😂
There was a time where I lamented the loss of Asimo.
Then you guys came around and filled the hole in my heart 1000 times over.
You guys are lighting our hearts ablaze while paving a beautifully inspired future.
Thank you Boston Dynamics
Not as cute as Asimo thought, yet
A future where most human beings will have no objective purpose and no value. Yay.
I didn't know Asimo died last year, I loved that robot.
RIP.
Awesome-o?
You mean Eric Cartman?
