    I’ve been watching for a while now and I have to say this video really showcased your food describing skills. Very nice to get a good description of how things taste including spices used, sweet, acid, gamey, pillowy, and such. Instead of just saying delicious or this is really good, the food was described so I could get a feel of how it actually tasted. Kudos!

    The white rice is basmati. Biryani is spiced basmati rice cooked in a big pot with spices, curry and meat.

    Usually eat the casseroles with the rice and use the nan to help scoop it on a spoon. I always order mild as can not take anything hotter The mango lassi helps cool the spiciness. Mahalo for showing this place.

    We have seen that line, and it is crazy even on weeknights. That is a great little mall for food. Hot Pot is great and the cookie store has good cookies. Parking is a madhouse because of all the popular places.

    Back around 2016-17 or so, there was good kiosk operating in Shirokiya that specialized in serving home-cooked Indian cuisine. Owners were migrant Indians from Southern India. In fact, the head was owners grandpa. And his food was XLNT! As much as it pains me, Cannot remember the kiosk name but they were connected/related to Himalayan Kitchen. Now that Shirokiya is no longer in existence, haven't had the chance to checkout Himalayan Kitchen

    that's awesome that there are more Indian restaurants popping up at home. I'm adding this place to my list of places I need to eat at. Bonus that it's at McCully Shopping Center. As far as dessert, you need to try gulab jamun. It is so delicious! As always, great video! And, I'll be home again in 285 days but who's really counting???? ;)

    Ganesh is great! He loves teaching about the food and the origins of the dishes. Even though he shines in the kitchen, he also enjoys getting out and talking to customers.
    Next time you go, try the wings with a bit of spice! The korma and kadai are really good, too. Definitely other staples include paneer makhani, tandoori chicken, hariyali tikka, and lamb boti kebab! I always ask for extra nuts on my lassi 😅

    I want to try those Momos. But everything looked so good. I used to go to Indian buffet restaurants in CA which was a bargain to what we pay in Hawaii, but the quality and variety of these dishes look worth the price. Thanks for the review.

    I rarely eat Indian cuisine, but one time, while staying in Philadelphia, PA for work, I tried this Indian place next to my motel. Like 5 min walk. The curry was heavenly. It had a thin film of oil on top.
    That mango lassi is HUGE. Here in Atlanta, GA, we get 1/3 of that glass mug for the about the same price. I prefer garlic naan over normal naan.

    Per usual, everything shown looked amazing!! Authentic Indian food, I feel was hard to find in Hawaii growing up. Glad to see more ethnic foods becoming more available for locals to try. I wonder what a “ local twist/ fusion” will bring you yhe palate? The curries and naan looked amazing! I really need to make it out there! Mahalo!❤😀

    Brah! Amanda/Felix, Love your channel and been following for a little bit now. My Yelp bookmarks for Oahu eats have surpassed the ones for my hometown since watching LOL! We visit Oahu every year and we go for the food mainly. You guys have opened up so many options for my wife and I. Never would have crossed our minds to seek Indian food in Hawaii but now we are excited to try Tadka for sure! How do we get a guest spot on your channel when in town? LOL! J/K....... :)

    The only Indian Food I've ever tried is there in Downtown Honolulu @ New Kamana Kitchen, a small family-owned place that was very good! My favorites were the Butter Chicken aka Chicken Makhani and the Garlic Naan, yum! I would definitely have to go mild as I don't do spicy very well!

  • @paulafriedmanalohafrommaryland

    Aloha Amanda & Felix. Indian food is the best. The Nepal Momo's looked good. I haven't had boba/bubble tea in a while, but when I would get it, it would be either milk tea or lychee flavor (no milk). It's too bad you didn't stay for dessert at the restaurant, Indian desserts are so delicious. Do you have any Pakastani or Afghanistan restaurants out there? Those and some Indian restaurants serve a dessert/drink called Falooda, it's so good, I hope you both get to try that one day if you haven't already.

    • @AmandaFelixEats
      @AmandaFelixEats  Před 7 měsíci +1
