The original premise was exactly the premise of the popular web comic "Amanda Green, SIA". (Super-human Insurance Agent). Several people online pointed that out after the trailer was shown at SDCC. Ben Queen then departed and the premise was changed. The young writer of "Amanda Green, SIA" passed away unexpectedly in 2018.
If I'm honest , DC should invest in more serious and drama based shows on HBO or those channels. Imagine an HBO Gotham, Green Arrow, or Vixen canon with the DCEU

So give the show a chance before you judge it's first episode. Pilots of new TV shows are not always the greatest but they get better later on. You could say it's just a parody of the DC universe set of people in the Wayne security Business.
