DIY PRIVACY FENCE/SCREEN

  • I used two 2X4s and twelve 1X4X8s cut in half to build a privacy panel. This is a one woman project, although you may need a second set of hands if you don’t have clamps or support straps to help keep panel in place while you attach it to the existing fence.

    Yes, I know the feeling of having them cut the 2x4's down at the hardware store so I can fit them into my car. We ladies gotta do what we can do to get the job done! Love what you've created here, it's beautiful!! 🏵😍

    i like that u did very small spacing between ur boards. so many people leave big gaps and to me that defeats the purpose. 😂

    That screen is absolutely beautiful! What is the name of the colour of the wood stain? Gorgeous! That panel was a lot of hard work - and made in unbearable heat, to boot. My hat's off to you for a job well done! You've inspired me to try making one myself as I really need some privacy for my patio. Thank you!

    I have umbrellas up for my plants as well. However, I do that each summer. As the sun moves over during the summer some areas simply. Need some shade. It all works out.

      Yes, so true. The sun climbs higher in the summertime, exposing many more spots to direct sunlight.

      Thanks! I used Fir strips and sealed it with Behr water-proofing semi-transparent Redwood.

      Thank you! The brackets is correct. Just like going around a pipe. Sorry. No pic. I’d have to go into the neighbor’s yard for that.

I'm still planning mine and because I rent, I'm determined to use supplies I already have - metal poles for 4x4s and pieces of free trellis from a neighbor. It will my 1st attempt using a jigsaw, so I'm excited and a tad anxious. Wish me luck. I love your videos! Keep them coming, please.

      Hello! Thank you! I don’t remember the exact cost. This was two years ago. I did put a material list in the description. The price of wood has changed since then, but you can get a general idea from the supplies needed. 💚

      Thank you! I used Behr semi-transparent waterproofing redwood. I don’t remember the exact order of the words, but you should be able to look it up this way. 💚
