You left out quite a bit of information. You explained what you were doing for each step but you did not explain why you were doing g what you were doing. Very hard to follow

So many rubbish stylists about. I've given up trying to find a good one so now I'm watching videos like this to teach myself. I'm cutting my own from now on. At least I'll get what I want. I've just come back from a salon again and yet again they've cut my hair too short. All I've done is pay someone to make me depressed again. How mad is that.

When we go to a salon to have this hair cut, what do we ask for exactly? I have the hardest time communicating and getting the hair cut that I want. Never know what to say or ask, or tell them, to get the right cut on my hair. I always end up spending $75 for a trim, no matter what I say or what picture I bring in. Would love some advice/tips on this.

I have an important question that I can’t get an answer for from my stylists! I know this post is a bit older but I hope you see it! Can you do this exact cut but with slightly shorter hair so the layers main thing the same length? Meaning, the top layer would be higher but the difference in the top layer and bottom layer is the same as what you are showing here? Is there an issue regarding starting the top layer too close to the occiput? I get migraines and I showed my stylist this exact cut you did but I asked for it to be a bit shorter and she ended up cutting my hair with very short layers. Plus, the additional issue with the cut I got is that it looks “shelfy” even though I told her about not creating shelf’s, that I need lots of blending because my hair for whatever reason always ends up shelfing, even with very skilled and experienced stylists. I feel like I have a 90’s layered haircut and I don’t know how to explain this to new stylists. I have had a successful cut done similar to this but when I want it shorter, longest layer 4” below my shoulder, I feel the layers are too close together and I “feel” I’d like the top layer to start half way up my neck.

Where are u located? The hair stylists in my town have NO idea what they are doing. I want my hair cut exactly like this. Im just going to grow it out longer so fixing the botched haircut can be easier. I am willing to travel far for this haircut.

Jamie!!! I have had a couple clients ask me to give them that super shaggy cut that’s trendy right now. Could you do a video on a shag cut?

I'm a fairly new hairstylist (over 1 year licensed) and every time I want to refresh my layered haircut memory, I come to re-watch your video. I've found that its straight to the point and that's the way I learn. Thanks, Jaime <3

I absolutely love this video! Due to Covid, I just did the haircut on myself and my hair has never fallen this nicely.

  • @stephanieshakespaere2365

I love how detailed you are with your haircuts! It’s awesome that you make a point to add little pieces that come out of the ponytail.

Hi Jamie! I love this video and would love more videos like this! I am sort of fresh out of beauty school and eager to see more simple straight forward videos!! I would love to see a “beauty school” series to go back to the basics we so easily forget and need to revert back to! Thanks for being so AWESOME! ❤️

Thank you for this. I no longer work in a salon, and haven't been behind the chair in years. I just cut long layers into my daughter's hair and this refresher was perfect. I found your language to be perfect and easy to follow. My daughter's hair came out great.

I want my hair all straight, and my mom is gonna do it. I'm basicly just going to show you how you cut her perimeter - it's pretty much the same thing, yet it's the best tutorial out there. Thanks

These are exactly the type of layers I want. Now I just have to grow out my hair again. I always end up cutting my layers too short and I love how you find your guide on this cut first.
