heeey guys ^^ since most material of the first contest is lost, I used a reconstruction :) the channel: / @jejtherusheddoodle23 the video: • Eurovision Song Contes...
I mean some of them could still be alive as its been 67 years ago. So if any of them got lucky to see the hot mess of modern Eurovision im sure they were so confused😂
@@artofonefish I looked it up, 3 of the original participants are still alive today :) Tonina Torrielli (italy), Freddy Quinn (austria) and Mathé Altéry (france)
If Lys Assia was still around, she would absolutely dig Eurovision today! She's shown such a hefty amount of support to the contest and has shared her personal favorites every year, from what I've heard. Sad to see her go....
To do a YAASS GURL SLAYY Video for that year is a real choice... but you know what, I really enjoy this. That was actually really fun and adorable. I wouldn't mind seeing more of it from select years in the past that were great or iconic, like 1965, 1974, 1988, 1991 (because of Toto Cotugno and his ""hosting skills""), 2007 or 2012 for example. Those would be the years I would consider at least! Greetings from Luxembourg!🥰
Thanks for using my reconstruction! And your comments on the contest were fun to read. In this version of the reconstruction, the footage of “Lohengrin Filipello” isn’t actually him, but rather Michael Bongiorno, an Italian show host. I didn’t realize this until in the middle of making the video, since they both look pretty similar. I made an updated version including the recently discovered photos, which include the real Filipello. czcams.com/video/EgALKXz7mS8/video.html However, that video has “Aprite le finestre” (🇮🇹-1) is not in sync with the audio, but I made a separate video where it is. czcams.com/video/5HAqq1yN5Nw/video.html Once again, thanks for using the video, and thanks for the credit. It means a lot.
Yeah i saw the new version after i finished my video already hahaha🥲 but ofc i'm gonna give credit were credit is due :) So iconic that you reconstructed it, must've been a lot of work ^^
@@SimonAT. thanks so much. This video was very great. Fun fact: the reason why I made the original reconstruction (the one featured) was because literally no one else was making one, since at the time of the video’s upload, there was already a 1964 reconstruction (not made by me.) I’m still very pissed that ESCStuff’s reupload on both my old reconstructions are still available on YT, but it’s nice to see you recognize the originals.
Lys Assia would have appeared latter in 1957 and 1958 as a contestant and during 2003 as a special guest, same for the Congratulations! event in October 2005, months after the contest held in Kyiv, she also appeared in the 2009 contest in Moscow where her along with Dima Bilan gave the trophy to Alexander Rybak the trophy during his victory of that year, she tried to compete for Switzerland in 2012, but lost to Sinplus and San Marino in 2013, but lost to Valentina Moretta, her last appearance was in the Greatest Hits concert in 2015 in Vienna, she passed away on March 24,2018 (5 years ago) at the age of 94
if youre doing older eurovision i recommend 1987 because its so aggressively 80s, 1996 because of windows movie maker effects (plus non qualifying songs) and 2005 or 2007 because they're both iconic also 2013 if we're talking recent years
I absolutely LOVE this, loved the reconstructions too! 1956 is unironically a good year, also kinda agree that Im wartesaal zum großen glück would have slain the televote if they had it lol I wonder if it could have won, it is rumoured to have come 2nd after all My winner is Luxembourg, Ne crois pas was too catchy for its own good
@@bobekspekiel9890 Yeah but you mean the fandom today, right? That's undeserved but I guess kind of expected, not many people like older ESC years in general because they find the songs old-fashioned (when there's actually some true gems in them!) But I was wondering what would have happened if they had televote - at the time - IWZGG could have been more to people's taste than today definitely xD
i honestly am jelous, they got to experience the first eurovision and see it grow into a global contest from the beggining, with only very few countries taking part Most of them were/are fans of eurovision ever since they compeet for the first time and got to experience all those icons and got to see how the music industry had changed and how the contest has been growing from the first edition also i want to say, rest in peace to all Eurovision contestants that had passed away [*]
If they had televote in 56, I'm pretty sure Ne Crois Pas would have been in the top 5, with Im Wartesaal zum Grossen Glück and Messieurs les noyés de la Seine

hello, how's the flow?
Decent.

I love this, it's such an original concept, please do it with many many many older years!
"je suis tellement émotionnelle, je regrette... on recommence !" she was so adorable when she said this awww

Okay but why am I so emotional watching this???

This is the best way to cure post Eurovision depression. Thank you for your service
They left so few crumbs we had to keep cooking every year

Refrain is such an amazing song ! I love it so much
Actually Sanremo wasn't only a thing back there, it was actually the role model for the ESC
waited for a comment like this 😂
@@SimonAT. you can't deny it. Simply the truth 😌 Gehört halt dazu 😛
I love how the whole video is black and white even the intro😊
This is my way of curing post eurovision depression.
Wow, mate. Compared to ESC nowadays, the inaugural ESC back then was unrecognisable. But it was just relevant in 50's, but still.
The og postcards are better than the 2009 and 2022 ones 💀💀
You're so real for this
No way you did this -
My winner was Fud Leclerc btw. RIP legend 😢
