  • Mazda just announced pricing for the 2024 Miata / MX-5 and it has a starting price over $30,000 for the first time EVER. That might seem like a lot of money, but Austin and Jordan take some time to compare it to the original Miata's pricing, along with other new cars that are out today. Are you considering an ND?

I had a 2021 Miata GT in red and loved it. But now I have a 2023 Miata GT in black and love it also. Both vehicles bumped up near 45+K with CA taxes. Higher prices on the Miata is just a way of life now. However, the vehicle is still well worth it and I would not be without one.

I DD my 22 RF GT and can't wait to take delivery on my 24 RF GT. Still the best bang for the buck!

I just got a 24' GT. Listed right at 36k, after title and dealer fees it came to just under 40k.
Fortunately/unfortunately, depending how you look at it, I was just in an accident. My previous car was written off, and I was able to put about half of that price in the down payment.
The price per smiles still can't be beat for the price of this car.

Here is a different angle on this, I was looking at a new ND but found a 2.0 NC PRHT as new with 6K miles for half the money, then came across a 2.0 Sport SOFT top with 7K miles and couldn't decide so bought the pair of as new NCs for less than the new ND2!! Never regretted it since. that was 3 years ago now and I still have them. (They both have LSD in the UK)

Great video! Just one clarification. Not all manuals have an LSD. I wish they did! You have to get a Club for LSD which is $3500 more than the Sport. A Club coming into my local dealership in soul red and a few other options ends up being $4500 more than the Sport even with the dealership offering $1000 off MSRP. The Sport they offered with $750 off MSRP. The Club is nice but I don't see that as great value for money. I even tried to find a Club at other local dealerships but they were more. I would just get the Sport but I want a nicer interior than the Sport offers, LSD, better suspension and nice wheels. I thought about modifying the care but I spent years doing that and aftermarket can be tricky. You can end up making the car worse if you don't do it right. In my experience most OEM parts seem to be more reliable than aftermarket. So I looked at the Grand Touring which includes every single feature of the base club plus full leather interior, auto climate control, auto lights, rain sensing wipers, auto dimming side mirror, frameless auto dimming rear view mirror with homelink, doorsill trim plates, navigation, traffic sign recognition system, and secondary collision reduction (whatever that means, LOL) for only $1200 more than the base club due to the Grand Touring being painted in black. I wanted black anyway and there is no extra charge for that color. I think the upgrade to Grand Touring is well worth the added features. What do you guys think?
I even went the route to look for a nice NC but I could not not find any manuals with low mileage in great condition for a good price in central Florida. You think there would be but they are all very expensive (for what they are), run down or automatic. Most of them also seem to be the pre 2010 facelift which resolved some of the issues of that generation. The NCs I am finding that are the later generations in great condition with low miles are nearly S2000 money.

I live in France where, having had a stroke which limits me to an a/t, the soft top is unfortunately NOT available with the a/t. In my opinion, the RF is not a true convertible and so I am keeping my a/t NC PRHT. A higher hp ND soft top with a/t would be my preferred choice. Good video, as usual. Thank you.

Can’t agree more! RF is beautiful, but not a full convertible. And that’s a huge contribution to why I kept my PRHT as well.

True, RF is really more of a Targa

Price it in Canadian dollars- make sure you are sitting down. The Canada/U.S. exchange rate is around 35% - 🤮

As much as I'd love to have a RF I think I'm better off saveing my money an keeping my 2016 Nd Sport.

So what your saying is the Miata is still the best priced sports car on the market?

  • @KidNato
    @KidNato Před 3 měsíci

If I was in the market for a 24 I would be pissed because I would forced to buy the BBR package no matter what because the new stock wheels are hideous

please don't ever mention EV,s and especially that Tesla POS. Otherwise I love your videos.

    • @FlywheelFilms

Respectfully, ignoring EVs is ignoring a huge upcoming market whether you like it or not. And we don’t ignore any part of the automotive landscape on this channel. EVs can be super interesting and fun, and if you don’t think that, I’m inclined to think you’ve never tried one. Obviously both my cars are manual and combustion, and I don’t see that changing, but I intentionally work with EVs for a living. They’re way more interesting than most of the vehicles on the road. 🤷🏻‍♂️
