Both cakes are truly amazing. Awesome job guys. However, I for sure love that fact that he experimented with the opposite colors of Christmas rather then the usual. True definition of bringing your own imagination & design to the table. ⚡

One cake looks like it's for a corporate Christmas party and the other looks like something you would find at a family gathering. Loved both.

laurie did an amazing job baking and stacking/crumb coating the cakes perfectly straight, giving him a great foundation. both looks amazing and laurie pulled that technique off really well. i personally love kevin's black and gold decorations and laurie's cake obviously look like a professional did it. amazing job to both of them

I think both look super pretty and unique :) I also think it would be cool to do the same but one at a time - with or without a theme but you're not in the same room while decorating. Maybe being able to pick your own items to use and just see where your creativity takes you! :) Loved the vid as always❤

Y'all, if you're on the fence about getting the smoother, do it. I'm not sure what magic Laurie pulled to make it work like it does but it is unlike any other smoother/scraper I've tried. I couldn't believe how easy it was to make my frosting damn near perfectly smooth, especially since I'm usually so bad at it. Laurie, if you want to put your magical powers into any other baking items, I wouldn't hate that 👀

The couple competing is fun. The decorating were very different from each other which is nice. Maybe you could do a gingerbread house inspired cake? Those give lots of avenues to make something different than one another even if you use most of the same decorations.

Yay! I'm making a cake today (at home baker here! Cake decorating is a more recent thing im getting into) and one of my biggest cake decorating inspirations posts! I love both cakes. Now, cake community, you gotta help me. I'm thinking either an ombre or water color cake (blues whites possibly greens or purples) but not sure which one to do or where to go from there. I know one of you more experinced cake decoraters will have an awesome idea ❤. Thank you for your input, and ill update with what i end up doing!

Kevin's is chic, upscale and would be the crowning touch to any glamorous holiday spread. It would work for New Year's as well as Christmas or really any winter holiday. His looks like you gave a baker $200 and asked them for a special sparkle winter holiday cake and you end up feeling you should give them a tip because its better than you expected..

Laurie's is perfect for a family Christmas. Fun and full of Christmas spirit and whimsy. Kevin's would be amazing for an upscale work/corporate party. Elegant and a great representation of winter beauty but not necessarily pushing one faith's holiday forwards. Two very excellent cakes and I would love to have either!
