  • Quick synopsis: Moody train video, lovely music, not hard core stuff, probably not for foamers.
Longer description: Railfanning the Conrail (now NS) Lehigh Line in the Allentown, PA area presents the bulk of the traffic in early morning. When I first got interested in the hobby (around Y2K) I would get up at Zero Dark Thirty and be out there just before sunrise. If you're a railfan in an area where the line (or portions of the line) is single track you know that much of your time can be spent waiting. I have a lot of video taken while standing in fields waiting for the next train. I would shoot things that caught my attention, the moon, animals, fog, corn, contrails, the sunrise and so on.
One of my other interests is music. I've blended the 2 interests and created this "mood" video. Locations include the old Bethlehem Steel plant in Bethlehem PA, and spots along the Lehigh and Reading Lines from Pohatcong NJ westward to Sinking Springs PA and northward to the old NJ Zink Plant in Palmerton PA.
The opening music is by Gustav Holst, "Neptune, the Mystic" from "The Planets" and then Aaron Copland "The Promise of Living" from the Tender Land opera. I named it FROM THE SHADOWS because it starts in foggy darknes and ends after the sun rise. Enjoy.

Thanks! Guessing you must dabble in video too. Played with the raw video for a few weeks to try to get it to fit the music.
