1989 Pisten Bully snowgroomer ratrac 240D walkaround

We were looking for a snow groomer to buy, so went to see this one.
Well, it was not in the best shape.

89 240D....a great cat with a great cab, lighting options and very comfortable (The one I drove had a sunroof like this one but it could be open/lifted front OR back). The "tennis ball" joystick was a welcome improvement over the T handles. It is also one of the first PBs to use asymetric tracks. Those are everywhere now but at the time it was a a big deal.
The one I drove for two years had the quick change front carrier (blade had fixed wings) and we had several implements for the front end (chain crane, large baskets, pintle hitch, even picnic tables could be picked up/moved by the cat once fitted with the corresponding socket like the blade had....and you could do all that, drop the blade move/carry stuff from the seat of the cat...without ever going outside!!!
The Cummins was great, sounded great (no "whistling" sound like the MBs), throaty with tons of torque down low. It was an improvement over the MB engine it replaced at the time.

Have any idea why my 1989 PB240D cummins motor suddenly cuts off when trying to get up on a hill that usually had no problem? The situation appears when the engine is warm enough. Also the hydraulic system makes a sound ( like when the parking brake is on and trying to move ) before motor shut down.

Should have offered 1500 less, due to needed repairs, then flip it for profit to a wealthy actor in the USA and they will run themselves over with it
