Jist of this: parking brake is mechanical on a 1980 170d. He didn't set. 2nd, you drop blade ALWAYS. He didn't. 3rd guess here, pulled car uphill. Got out, machines in free roll position. Has a 100% mechanical joystick Fwd Rev from pics I have seen of 1980 technology. No electric over hydraulic controls. So just like my skidloaders, it's gonna move on its own IF I dare get out w/o park brake being set. Machine being uphill on barely a incline, he got behind it, finally it breaks stationary and creeps. Takes maybe 3 to 5 seconds to reach 5mph. Jumping on track to cross to the cab is like jumping on a horse from atop a fence railing. Best be accurate. Then you have a cab. Door has a closer, so you have to reach a handle to gain access. More seconds while track moving at 5mph. Accidents take but seconds. You always practice prevention. Jeremy lacked the weeks of operator practice. I am years of practice on many machines and plow a 15 degree parking lot with backhoe going on 2nd decade. You don't take chances, always drop sharp blade edge and or a secondary attachment like outriggers if you want to keep your job. Prayers Jeremy finds a way forward. God is greater.
I know people get in a hurry and that’s when accidents happen. I have went to climb out of my tanker a couple times but it has an alarm that sounds if you open the door without the air brakes on and it scared me a couple of times.Safety alarms like that are necessary because we are human. Praying he comes out as well as possible.🙏
Jeremy’s 250d has an alarm an a parking break light. An of course accidents do happen, but I know so many who have chosen to run these machines for a life long career, an it is quite avoidable.
With resorts upgrading there equipment with all the fancy new cats, there’s quite a few of these old cats on the market, an can be affordable. There was an accident involving 2 men in an old PB, an they broke through a frozen lake in Colorado, an they both died. The actors house is easily under 10ft of snow, cat wouldn’t be bad, but also some training.
This is guy thinks he's the shit. In the beginning he said he had 8000hrs then when this shitty video goes on he says " ur boy has over 10,000 hrs" so which is it expert. And talk about a hack... Running out of fuel makes u a #1 hack. Sucky video clown
@@poopcutta4040 I have 8,000 hrs in the brand Pisten bully , the other 4,000 hrs is in the other brand. The job took me around the world, a lot further than you’re moms internet will take you.
He was drunk for starters. Second, shit happens, even to professionals. I've seen it all my life. I've seen professionals let their profession and their ego go to their head and get themselves killed, or someone else. No piece of heavy equipment should be taken for granted and no operator no matter how good they are should ever think they are better than anyone else.
Drunk, ok that make sense. I’ve been running these machines around the world, for decades. People do not run themselves over with these machines, it’s very easy to avoid.
He was not intoxicated. It was a freak accident. They happen. And the risk goes up around heavy machinery. My cousin lost the top of her foot when she slipped on a moving combine during harvest. Shit. Happens.
Thanks for sharing your expertise and insight. Very interesting!!
I was looking for a video on how to fix an escalator and came across this
I can see why he needed that machine from the snow
Fall around his house.
And if he survives he is one tough dude.

OMG quit babbling on and get to the point.
I'm pretty sure his was like a late 80s early 90s machine.that explains how this guy would be very difficult to run over yourself.
I’ve spent plenty of time in vintage Pisten Bullies, even the 240, there parking break an protocol are the same.
Don't bullys have brake door switches like bombies?
Correct, Bombies have that safety feature, while bullies do not.
Why would the average person even want to own one of these machines 2 plow residential driveways with

Was he drunk ? I didn't read that anywhere ?

@@carisusue it’s not a freak accident, it’s operator error.
