These machines have built much of the infrastructure that we still use today. It warms my heart to see they get the attention and love they deserve. Passionate people restore and run them and show everybody how they used to work hard, both machines and men. Thank you for uploading.
Incredible. I can honestly say I’ve never seen half this stuff before. I love the post steam equipment. Imagine how many fingers legs and necks have been broken by this equipment 😩
The joy of not having to light it two hours earlier though :o) I’ve never seen a thumper. I see where that lethal petrol pogo stick comes from now.
Imagine the medical treatment available when this equipment was new.
@@ethan6322 a wet bandage and some sugared brandy I imagine 😆
"Gonna have to amputate it"
*fires up the giant jump thumper
☑️ Yeah, people used to be tougher than in today's western world. These days, we're worried about "offending" people over "personal pronouns". Back then they had real worries....
Being an old machinist, one can appreciate the time it took to make this happen. What a wonderful hobby
Being a younger machinist, I know that these things came ahead of the things I made...and all the lost fingers, limbs, and lives it cost..
fuck it i say hire you guy just to play. while you are doing that dig a hole here so we can build a building
I had no clue these(the jumping thing) existed. It's amazing being able to see all these machines.
Totally makes steam punk mechs seem more reasonable when I see those ya. Been like two decades since I last saw one of those I think... Always just full sized steamrollers, or modern jackhammers with a flat head attachment if needed on the side areas today.
That big blue one looked like it loosened the ground more than compacted it. Maybe it worked better on dirt than gravel?
It's called a tamper.
The smaller tampers were common in England in the 60s and 70s
@@BrosOfArmz yeah, the tampers and the vertical ones are called jumping jack i believe
That track switcher is a work of genius.
There is a reason they said “Necessity is the Mother of Invention”.
That has been used for generations on railroads for putting speeders on and off the main rails.
Was Uncle Herbert a cartoon coyote by any Chance?
These were the machines reason for the western world's current prosperity.
Difference between developing & developed nations.
Thanks for efforts to preserve them, it will keep remembering younger generations that we must innovate.
Super Interressant 🎉

Tolle Technik damals. Bin 71 und begeistert von dem Video.
Grubenstampfer?

This video has already over 2 million (2,084, 893 as of June 29th 2022 or 6/29/22 E.S.T 4:19 am G.M.T. -6 ) views on channel with only 26.1K subscribers, so The description being in their local language isn't surprising. The upload was on June 12th 2022 (17 days ago) so I would imagine they are a bit shocked at how many views they are getting and where all the traffic suddenly came from. This showed up as random suggestion and liking old machinery I was like I'm watching it, even I do not know what most are. I just admire them for technical marvels they are and think about world where these were the best machines at that pinnacle of technology....
Thank you for the translation though. As the old joke goes "What do call person who speaks only one language?" " An American" Which is sadly true due to our educational system although parts of the country have better mix of Spanish.
I hope this channel gets the love and encouragement to upload more of these videos.
@@ablemagawitch yep and I needed to translate it so every one could understand it. English is just more than uk/us, it's the language of the internet.
@@WhitfieldProductionsTV I knew English was the official language of Aviation and Ocean Ships/Shipping , I didn't think of it as an official language of the internet. The internet came mainly came from English speaking countries and the "standards" were from them are in their language, so I can see how this makes more sense. Being from the USA I kinda feel it was vain to assume our language was more than just a common one across many countries big and small.
Well that and it appears to be the official language to insult everyone's mom in the pre-game lobby's in Call Of Duty....
Side note: Amazing that this video gained an additional 40K+ more views in the last 24 hours.
Hopefully Schöneggbahn will copy & paste your translation comment into their description to help more people find this video over time. Because this is most likely an algorithm surge that well end and such interesting Steam machinery will be lost to the depths of archives on here.
