love the straight through flowfx on my ram, just hate its loud as hell on start up when I head to work and quiets up when it gets warm. though great sound
Great video, I ordered the Magnaflow #12568 yesterday for my 09' 300C Heritage Edition, 5.7L Hemi 375hp. I just want a little more rumble and a little bit deeper sound than the stock sound which is actually very quiet. I'm replacing the "suitcase" with this muffler and leaving the rear resonator/mufflers on. The Magnaflow representative that I spoke with said this would give me the rumble I seek when I get on it and be more subdued while idling. I shouldn't get any drone as well. It's supposed to be delivered on Tuesday, so hopefully it will be the sound I'm looking for.
My 1995 GMC Sierra is ready for a new muffler. Until I listened to your video, I was ready to buy a Flowmast 40 series, but now I'm considering Magnaflow.
Great comparison two thumbs up! This is why I run Magnaflows on both my cars. Magnaflows straight through design is simply superior and the build quality is beautiful on MF's.
Thought I decided with the super 40 but I feel like you know your shit and will now check out the magnaflow rumble if you think they are better overall. Thanks 👊🏻
You’ve just about got me talked into getting a magnaflow. 97 F-250 with a 460. I occasionally pull a RV or utility trailer. I’m looking for a deep truck sound but without that annoying popping backfire sound. I want a good rumble but not so overbearing in the cab. What do you recommend in a Magnaflow and should I dump exhaust or stay with single or dual?
I just took off a magnaflow muffler and swapped it out for a black widow venom 250 muffler on my truck I have longtube's with a 3" y pipe no cats and full 3" exhaust all the way to back and i feel like i lost some power by swapping mufflers out.
I think Magnaflow will be my eventual mfg choice but which product. I will be getting a 2021 Dodge Charger Daytona 5.7L in early 2021. My sound shopping list includes a deep, throaty growl out the tailpipe. Barely any drone inside to listen to unless I open a window. To get what I want do I need to keep the resonator and change the muffler to ????, or do a resonator delete with a better low-drone muffler? I want to avoid the drone headaches many people with the wrong setup get. Thanks!
I've got 2007 Silverado 5.3L. Gonna get magnaflow. What model should I get for the deep sound, not obnoxious and no drone, but still sounds good? and not hurting the gas milage
The tailpipes kept rotting off my Magnaflow (had them patched 2x), so I just replaced it with a Flowmaster FlowFX. It was about half the price and so far I'm really happy with the sound. Seems a little louder than the Magnaflow, but my Hemi RAM was meant to have a rumble!
I’ve got a ‘94 Silverado 2500 with the TBI 7.4L single exhaust. I was looking at the Flowmaster Super 44 for exhaust note and better mileage. Sounds like (no pun intended) I’d be better off with a Magna Flow listening to you. What would you recommend for me that would have a deep rumble, improve mileage and work in a single exhaust system?
Great video, well done. I am thinking of getting the Flowmaster Super 10 for my 08 Tahoe. But it needs all the performance gains it can get. How much of a performance difference is there?
H there , I have a 2004 mustang gt , I like the sound of the 40 series but which Magnaflow would compare to it? the 40 series sound nice but the drone was bad . Thanks for your reply.
I have a 2009 Chevy Silverado Crew Cab 4 wheel drive with a 5.3. I wanted to get a louder muffler outside, but not much louder than stock in the interior. Is there a Magnaflow that would do that?
I like your video man. So I bought a magnaflow and had it dyno tested. I’ll be honest and say I lost a little hp. Maybe it’s the kind of muffler, but I went back to flowmaster
Stock 5.3 vortec cats and emissions have already been tuned and deleted what would you recommend ... And would the magnaflow being hollow would it effectively the back pressure of the engine ?
Okay so I have a 6.0 GMC Yukon Denali and I have no cats and no muffler but I do have a carven exhaust but I want mine fast and a little more quiet because it’s to loud what do u recommend should I take the carven off and then add the magnaflow or leave the carven and add the magnaflow
I’m glad I got MagnaFlow for my KIA. I love Flowmaster. But now that you explained it a lot better I’ll put MagnaFlow in the future once I get myself a truck. Thanks.
I’m getting older but stock is just lacking a little. I’ve had a few vehicles with the super 40 and it’s a lot louder than I’m wanting. I don’t know much about the magna flow but I need something that’s a little deeper and smoother than stock with out waking up the neighbors. Is the magna flow what I’m looking for?
My dad has flow master on the same truck. 94 5.7 step side with a 350 engine it’s sounds so nice aggressive and deep. I actually thought he was happy with it very happy I thought till I recently told him I was buying that same set up for my 2001 1500 hd 6.0 and he said that if he had the chance to or needed to one day buy one or the other again he would go with magnaflow rumbler..
Thanks for the video. I have a 5.3 2003 Chevy Tahoe and want a Deep sound but not as loud as the Flowmaster. I already have a Jones 18 inch muffler not by choice but garage put it on and I hate it. Theres No rumble I hear the engine more then exhaust. Looking to try the Magnaflow 18 inch to keep same set up. It's dual in Dual out. Will the 18 Magnaflow give a Deep Rumble? Thanks my friend.
Lol that made my day. All of these will probably get you into the 9 second range honestly. Take one of each and put them all in a line, weld them together and make an exhaust out of mufflers
Nice video buddy. I had a magnaflow once, only once, and lost a little time on my 0-60 and my quarter mile. I didn’t think a muffler could do that much damage to my ET, but switched back to Flowmaster and gained back my original 0-60 and quarter mile ET. My buddies had very similar experiences so I believe it all depends on set up. Nice job though, but no one muffler would out flow another.
If one muffler can't out flow another, how do you explain your supposed gains and losses, with only changing the muffler out?? I must have missed part of the story.
The stock muffler. Nobody wants to hear that thing. No offence but if you want a ratty car then buy a car that should sound ratty. People put mufflers on jdm cars, muscle cars, pick up trucks, super cars. Nobody puts an exhaust system on an economy car.
I really love the flowmaster sound but i care about both sound and performance. How well does that single chamber Super 10 flow compared to the magnaflow?
Have a 2002 Honda Accord with thrush muffler...IT SUCKS!! Sounds like Donald Duck talking a long wet fart under a bridge🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️. Like what a I hear bout Magnaflow but would like to have your opinion on which muffler you would go with??? 02 Honda Accord EX 3.0L it’s a J series motor. Thank you
No disrespect intended but your "opinion" means little regarding performance unless backed-up by confirmed dyno testing of a given engine type, exhaust diameters, and with mufflers of same design construction and "purpose". Many people fail to link it all together. While your thought process is obviously logical, proof is required and you present none. As to the sound in relation to muscle cars, my opinion is the Flowmaster has a much better sound then any Magnaflow I have ever heard (not bashing Magnaflow here). You state/admit as much in your video. In regards to increased performance due to mufflers, the "only" proof is in dyno testing which in the end is print on a piece of paper. There isn't a person alive who can tell or feel the difference of an increase of potentially 15hp due to a muffler. There comes a point when HP is just something to brag over. Therefore, in the end, it all comes down to a sound the owner loves. FYI: Flowmaster Pro-Series (HP) mufflers, one of which you show, is an excellent, well-constructed, "moderate" interior, great deep exterior, sounding muffler that can also get you the extra potential 15hp...not that anyone could ever notice the increase. Anyone looking for sound should always settle on what they like best. Anyone wanting hp bragging rights...that reduces your options...but in the end the performance/hp muffler that sounds best to you will be deciding factor.
Well said. There is a reason why Flowmaster mufflers are designed as chambered mufflers. On paper, straight-through mufflers look like the better product because of no air exhaust outflow restriction. But I think at the end of the day, dyno testing with concrete numbers will indicate which one performs better.
wayne Brown we will have a dyno soon !! We plan on proving this “opinion”. But there’s also a reason a multimillion dollar company like them doesn’t advertise “dyno proven” power. I sell $100,000 worth of Flowmaster products a year because that’s what the “people” want. Doesn’t mean that’s the best product on the shelf. That’s the purpose behind this video !
What's the model # of the first MagnaFlow muffler you showed. I have a 2019 Hyundai Veloster Turbo and looking for an agressive deep tone any reccomendations ?
It looks like a 18" 3 inch in 2.5 dual out (12288) If your looking for something more loud and aggressive they have smaller ones like the 14" which I have on my silverado (I got 3 in 3 out #12219). Same deep tone, just more amplified. Just choose what pipes you have going in and out
Put in an h pipe past the cats. Then either a dual in and dual out magnaflow or 2x single in and outs. 2.25 or 2 1/4 is the size you want. Straight pipe after the mufflers then put on some exhaust tips that stick out 1in past your rear bumper. Hopefully this advice isn’t too late. Javier is just jealous that you have a car lol.
Everybody says that Flowmaster‘s are better I seriously don’t see how magna flow is pretty much straight through I use Magnaflow and I love magnaflow they sound good and they’re pretty loud you just gotta use the one I use if you want it loud
That comparison doesn't make sense. What a joke. This guy judges a muffler by whether or not he can see thru it. Probably has never heard of the scavenger effect that a properly turned exhaust system provides. Picking a muffler is dependent on the rest of your exhaust. In a properly tuned system a flowmaster type muffle will provide more performance than a straight thru muffler or even a straight pipe. It will do so by resonating exhaust pulses to maximize the scavenger effect during valve overlap.

I had been looking at this muffler for quieting the drone. I have also found Flowmonster Performance Muffler 3 inch dual inlet & outlet 12599-FM 409 Stainles...MagnaFlow 5 X 11in. Great video! Thank you! Helped me decide what I'll be putting on the truck!

Oval Straight-Through Performance Exhaust Muffler 12599 I have a lot of drone in a 2010 Dodge charger 5.7 hemi long tube headers high flow cats and would like to put one of these in place of the X pipe location to bring it down a notch. I have the flow FX straight stainless mufflers and 4 inch tips that's it what's your opinion?
