  • Egg white powder can be easily made at home by dehydrating and Whites,
    Just do not cook them - dehydrate!
    do it at a very low temperature 140-170f
    This can be used in many recipes for the carnivore diet, which I will be sharing in other videos, so stay tuned for more .

      Thank you so much. I have just started Keto and found some of the ingredients for bread rolls a hideous price and it rather put me off the diet. That was a sad state of affairs, my sons virtually bulldozed me into this, and then found it way beyond our means. My husband is our sole source of income and is retired, so I virtually gave up having to balance it all.
      Both sons were furious that I gave up so easily and want me back on it. I need the diet for health reasons, to try and eliminate a lot of the medication I have to have.
      So I scoured the internet and found your wonderful trick. My heart felt thanks to you for sharing such a lovely tip❤

    Hi There, i think this is a great idea! I too am keto/carnivore. I want to try this because you are correct on egg white powder being ridiculous. My question is approximately how long did you keep them in the oven before they dried out?

    • @HomesteadOntario
      @HomesteadOntario  Před 5 měsíci +3

      Every oven is different, electric will dry faster as a dry heat mine is propane so its a moist heat .. i did about 2-3 hrs but i don’t recommend 2 trays at same time best to have air around one pan
      I am going to do more test to see what ends up working best
      Its eggs season so lots to work with

    I need the egg white powder for psmf bread and carnivore breads. I mean, golly, i don't have my own eggs, but there's got to be a way of producing the egg white powder that is less expensive.

    • @HomesteadOntario
      @HomesteadOntario  Před 3 měsíci

      First whip to a hard peak!
      If you notice beads of liquid condensation forming on the surface of the meringue while it bakes, that's a sign that your oven temperature is too low. The solution: crank up the heat and shorten the cooking time.
      All ovens are different so trial and error

      I used a stand mixer on high for maybe 10 minutes. And I used pure egg white from a carton. It was just like meringue. And thick enough to stand up at the sides of the bowl. I would say thicker then normal meringue. Looked like styrofoamI set my oven on the lowest setting and put it on parchment paper on a baking sheet. My first try the paper was covered with liquid. Second try I turned my oven off so not as hot. Still liquid. Then I set on low convection with air blowing over. Next I tried my dehydrator on low. All with the same results. I let it dry on the racks themselves over night. From one quart of egg white I ended with maybe two tablespoons of powder. All I can see is the pure egg. White isn’t pure egg white. Can you do it with the carton of egg white?

    • @HomesteadOntario
