  • On the outside it's a facelifted Grande Punto but on the inside, it conceals Fiat's new MultiAir engine: a technology that claims to give more power whilst using less fuel. In this video, Vicki Butler-Henderson tries out the most powerful Sporting model to find out if the Evo is worthy adversary to other hot hatchbacks. The Fiat Punto saved our lives in a 110km/h highway crash. Forever thankful and I've missed my FIAT ever since. Fiance got the 500X because of how much she loved the Punto!

    • @VortechBand
      @VortechBand Před 4 lety +4

      It's a bit crazy though, because originally it scored the maximum 5 stars. It was later changed to 0 stars because it "didn't add anything new after being released". Stuff that they wanted: lane assistance and seatbelt warning(?!).

    You mean the Fusion Hybrid. If you translate imperial mpg you get 39mpg US. And on the EPA cycle usually EU ratings are optimistic, so that translates to about the same as the Fusion Hybrid.
    I always hear of European cars w/ amazing mpg, but they usually are very small (like this one) & when they get here they usually end up with lower fuel economy.
    I think the closest is with a diesel, but even then for the same size, it hasn't topped the hybrids in mpg, judging by the Jetta diesel.

    Great little cars but this was the start of all cars having features like hill start etc. that is pointless. Would also be better on fuel if they were smaller and lighter. You don't need 130bhp in a road going car.
    If you had that much power in you mini or imp you would be winning races

    fiat made a lot of bad cars in last 10-15 years. But this, the grande punto, the old punto (still alive and works well!) and some other like 500, doblò, bravo, stilo are really good! Cons for new panda, (old) multipla, 600, the 500 of '90th.
    i've a doblò of 2005, and still don't have problems after 60000km! And still arrive over 160km/h (where permitted*)

    That will change. Not quickly enough for some. The FUSION and the MONDEO will be one car soon. The FOCUS will be turned over for 2011 or 2012 (can't recall). Still not FALCON (Aus), a coupe version will be the New MUSTANG in 2014 while the sedan may be the next TAURUS. I'm not clear on everything that FORD is doing in the next few years but it is a lot. Not nearly as much as GM but still...
