I like your video on the console. I was wondering, how did you connect it to your computer? I have been watching this console myself, and having the ability for computer connectivity is going to the deal breaker for me. I noticed there wasn't any firewire or usb connectivity.
You're right. The console is purely analog and does not have an interface to do the ad conversion for audio tracks nor does it control any midi functions. However, if you have an interface already you can bus the console outs to your interface. When I have it set up in my studio I use external pres and bus the outs in to my interface. The outs from the DAW I send to this console to do analog mixing. It's not really necessary as you can mix in DAWs it's just an expensive preference that I have. There's a lot of opinions when it comes to analog mixing vs digital, I prefer analog; however, it is not necessarily cost effective. If you define what it is you wish to do I can better advise you if need be. Thanks for checking out the video though man!
Thanks, you gave me a lot to think on. I have my heart set on either the Midas F32 or the Allen Heath R16. I haven't made up my mind as yet. I was hopping to find some actual users of these products to see what their overall thoughts are.
If you have that budget for that those are both really awesome. I would choose the midas over allen and heath just because I like the design and layout of their board a lot more. Allen's boards look the same way they did 10+ years ago and I would prefer not to see all the wires that are going to be plugged into the board. Of course this is just me being picky; I'd be happy with either. Hopefully you find the answers you're looking for!
I was wondering if you could do a setup video demonstrating the analog to computer set up. I just ordered my console yesterday. Currently I use an Avid M Box 3. Would that be enough interface?
You ordered the sx4882 or? and which one of the mbox 3's do you have? There's the mbox mini, mbox, and then the pro (mbox 3 actually refers to the 3 units in the product line). The mbox and the mini have a limited amount of line ins and since it uses usb 2.0 I believe it can only send in a 2-track audio file. The pro uses firewire; I'm not sure of it's capabilities, but I could find out. If you got the behringer board; however, you're going to be limited to 2 tracks with the mini and mbox. With the pro you may be able to get 4 tracks. The behringer board is analog so you can't use the spdif on the interfaces as the mbox line up uses digital spdif and the behringer board uses analog spdif. If you got the midas or heath board I believe those will act as your interface you won't need the mbox.
At home I have a profire 2626 (discontinued by m-audio, but still available used). Any interface with multiple outs will work; presonus, focusrite, they all make great interfaces that are relatively inexpensive. You just have to bus the outs into the console. Behringer makes an ADA converter that can link up to most interfaces which is a cheaper alternative if you're only looking into sending out tracks from your DAW to an analog console or vice verse. I know a lot of people who have picked them up for that reason and found it more than suitable; however, I can not vouch for the results of it personally, only stating what has been done and what works for other people.
Now that it's 2 years later, how's the board doing? There are probably more of these boards feeding junkyards than working in pro studios. I've owned Behringer preamps, mixers, mics, processors and more in the distant past. Every single piece failed. I'm a professional studio engineer with over 35 years behind consoles. I also have a degree in electronics. Please get rid of this board, before it really disappoints you. A used Mackie, Allen and Heath, or Soundcraft will sound a lot better, and be way more dependable. People who honestly make their living in audio do not use Behringer products. Even the newer X32 digital board is a repeat offender for around 10 different malfunctions. Talk to the guys who repair gear before you talk to the people who sell it. It will be eye opening to say the least. Good luck friend.
He didnt ask for any of what you said, Behringer is a decent company if they were so terrible they wouldn't still be around all these years. Behringer as of late have really stepped it up as far as Quality.
I've used this desk for live sound engineering. it had 0 effects. the eqing quality is terrible, no usb or firewire it's not able to be used with a daw. no moving faders features it's pretty shirt in total. soundcraft dose better job at making desks, smaller and better with huge amount of extras..... but this desk is out dated, ...
You have to use a multi channel USB or Firewire interface, but it can be used with a DAW. Your first mistake was trying to use it for live sound. Not dependable!!!!!
if its not for ( live sound ) why do they promote it on there website, that it can for churches, ( no longer a issues we fucked it out into bin and got Yamaha desk that's was smaller cheaper and had usb+ Efx WITH stereo outs .
***** I think that going to a Yamaha mixer was a great choice. Yamaha makes pro gear that gets used by professionals. If you fed a trash pile with the Behringer mixer, then you did the world a service. Good luck on your musical journeys.
Pliz help me with tutorial of how to set up Behringer Sx4882 from gain, aux and so on using any selected channel for studio
Excellent review, thanks. Where do you have your monitors connected? Mine are connected by xlr but they are not in stereo.
Thanks! and mine are connected to the control room outs I believe. I use a balanced 1/4 inch jack.
bagus kah mixer ini
it's the same configuration as the glorious mx 9000

Just wanna ask you important question the question is how many aux has on it? 4 or 8 because a Web site says 8 aux per channel?

I called Sweetwater today. The sales guy suggested i go with the soundcraft gb4 24 track. I just need a good interface to cover all 24 tracks
thanks for the video!
Thank you!
Price?
is this unit comes with those LED meters?
Hey, I had a question. How do you send your DAW tracks through the mixer? What interface/setup do you use?

AuditAudio Thanks for your reply, I'll be looking in to the possibilities!

You have any mixes done on the SX4882.
I do. Need to find the time to upload a video. Will be working on it soon.
falou pra caralho e não ligou a mesa?
Warning : You have 6 Aux send per track (Better) and not 4 like he said in the video.
Warning : you can only use 4 at any given time so he wasn't all that wrong......
does it work with pro tools
