I tried to upgrade my pc several years ago. Totally frustrating, and I failed. I then took it outside, smashed the circuit boards with a hammer, drilled holes through as much of it as I could, poured a litre of bleach and a tub of salt into it and then drove over it with my car a few times. I felt better.
That's dedication. I just gave mine a Tiger Uppercut and sent it into orbit.
You missed the most important steps: you had to piss and shit on it.

I used to build PCs. However, I gave up once I kept having to chase down various driver updates to solve an increasing number of unexpected and sometimes obscure problems. Anyway, glad your build process seems to go smoothly.

Why are all British people so damn good at ASMR. Like I swear a Cockney person could be whispering swear words into the mic for a full 30 minutes and I’d get full body tingles no problem

@@MixingSneaX There’s a small standoff screw that’s supposed to go between the mobo and the screw you use to screw in the M.2. It makes sure that the drive is flat and doesn’t get bent when you screw it in.
Other than all the gunfire, explosions, casual profanity, and screaming, this was a calming video.

This guy is pretty good. He reminds me a bit of one of the best unintentional ASMR voices I ever found on CZcams. He was an Aussie by the name of Mark Lacey. He had a bunch of videos related to get rich quick and pyramid schemes. His tone, accent and relaxed delivery were downright hypnotic. Sadly, one day he just deleted his account and the videos were gone. Ever since then I download the best videos I find...just in case.

Did I miss something or did he not install the standoff support on the m.2 drive? That heat sink is literally making no contact with the drive. Not only that but the m.2 is literally bent! How do you fail to notice that???

this type of presentation is more to do with his specific region of england and the type of men in their mid 40s and above that live there more than anything. richard leadbetter from digital foundry is a good example.

Relaxing, but 3:29 made me wince. He needed to use a spacer between the screw hole and the SSD (should have come with the motherboard). The bend on that SSD could cause issues, and it also means there will not be good contact between the SSD and heat sink.

I took an IT class in high school and we built PCs from spare parts. I know how to do most of this and yet I'm terrified of buying my own parts in fear of breaking something.

I remember when I used to put all the components of my dream gaming PC into the basket on the dabs website, pretending that one day I'd be able to afford to click 'Purchase'... Never happened :-(
@@kps.77 Do what I’ve done and buy it in parts, maybe? I started with my processor (Ryzen 5 3600XT) the first month, then bought the motherboard (MSi MAG B550M Mortar), ram (Crucial Ballistix RGB 16GB @3200mhz) and boot/root drive (Corsair MP510 240GB M.2 NVMe) the second month. I’ve had to buy a weak, stopgap GPU (GT 1030) just to get video out while I wait to afford a 1660 Super, and I’m picking up my case (undecided for now), power supply (Corsair RM650) and a 2TB hard drive for my home partition.
As you can see, I’ve been buying the parts over roughly 3 months because I couldn’t afford it all at once, so maybe that’s a viable option for you, too; even if you have to buy a single component per month. Plan out the build, then buy a part each month until it’s complete. You’ll get there.

Nice video but my OCD forces me to tell you the NVME is wrong and you can see because was bent, this drives should never bend. The last nvme standoff is taller, you should have used that one (swapped) to screw the drive. the rest of the video is veeery nice and well explained.
