  • Tottenham Hotspur have been in their shiny new £1 Billion stadium since 2019 and it is still getting loads of praise from Spurs fans and media in 2023. I went to explore this record breaking football ground to see if it's actually worth all the hype and title of "the world’s best stadium, arena or sports venue" back in 2020!!
Oh- and I met the Spurs club legend Ledley King!

      Yes.
But the amount of advertising flashing around the stadium incoporating RED is shocking.
It happens before, during and after kick off.
Such disregard of the Clubs colours is unacceptable.
Other big clubs limit the display of opposition colours to a bear minimum.
The THFC board deem it fit to display RED on our home kit.
      Unacceptable.

I’m a season ticket holder and every time I go to the stadium it takes my breath away !! On match days they even have bands around various parts of the stadium playing spurs songs to get you hyped before the match. Food is really good with quick service and no big queues for a beer. The only bad thing I would say is the transport system to the stadium bad !!

I live in the North West of England and support Liverpool. I'm a rugby league fan (nowhere near as much as I love football) but I do enjoy it and in 2022 I went to a rugby league cup final. The final is usually played at Wembley but for some reason, it couldn't be held there and was held at Tottenham instead. What a magnificent stadium! I loved all the bars etc... directly inside from where we sat to watch the game. Plush and very swish and the seats which we sat in to watch the game were comfy and the sightlines were second to none when watching the match. Some people looked at me as though I was bonkers when I said that I actually enjoyed the experience more than Wembley. Thanks for sharing the video

Tottenham fan here, our stadium is absolutely beautiful. I too did the tour. My first game here was in the Champions League. We won 5-0 when Poch was manager. Great experience.
We are here we are because of Bobby Buckle and his school boys friends as they founded our cricket club to a football club.
I’m not sure if you’re actually a Tottenham FC fan or not? But if you cross the road, where the auditorium
Is, and do the 1st left you will reach Bobby Buckles former home. To be totally honest with you, Bobbys former house touched my heart more than our new stadium did. -True story. I ❤️Tottenham FC.

I don’t believe the Stadium did cost £1B, I may stand corrected but isn’t it the whole Northumberland Development Project that cost that much. It includes the stadium, a college, tower blocks for housing, retail, public spaces etc etc etc. The idea being to regenerate Tottenham a fairly run down area, provide local employment and of course being a business earn money for the club. Seems to be working on all levels, the club is certainly making a fortune from the stadium. COYS

Without the revenue that this new stadium generates as well as the merch, they would be more limited in spending owing to the truly stupid financial rules that favor richer teams that are allowed to spend more because the earn more.

      @harrisonk89  Před 5 měsíci

Agreed! I think Spurs wanted to show that they tried to keep it 'pure' with the WHL flooring, Spurs Cockrell and other little touches, but it's now clearly a commercial-focussed beast of a stadium. They should've just kept the old White Hart Lane name, as Levy has clearly failed to sell naming rights with the hefty price tag. It would be an easy win to appease some of the purist fans!

That is likely to destroy the fan base! Grassroots! It is clear that they support the franchise model and play anywhere in the world in front of tourists!
As an Evertonian, I have experienced 2 First Division titles, 2 FA Cup wins, and a European Cup winner's success! There is more, but irrelevant. Everton has many historical firsts!
The domestic league champions are the pinnacle, and other competitions are a bonus; only the marketing for tourists says otherwise!

      Thanks for the reply Sir.
I first went to White Hart Lane in 1965, and then over the years to the new stadium.
The Stadium back then, in 1965, was much better, in my opinion, than the one we ended up with, before we moved into this new beauty. way back in 65, you could wander all around the Stadium, and stand anywhere, apart from the enclosure in front of the main stand, where they charged you about sixpence extra to get in.
We would walk to which ever goal that Spurs were attacking. unless it was raining, there was no cover for those standing at the Paxton Road end, so we would go on the shelf.
Of course we have great memories of the old place, of great games, and great names i'll never see anyone as good as Mr Greaves, or Mr Gilzean, the G Men.
Or Mr Dave Mackay, And Nice one Cyril, Mr Knowles.
And so many more, both from Spurs and from other teams.
But the new Stadium is wonderful with Lots of great memories waiting to be made.

The cheapest season ticket at Tottenham for an Adult is £807, and for Seniors and juniors it costs £404, not bloody bad.
