    Display also shows, best lap times, Low fuel warning, Tyre pressure.
    It will show a digital clock when first on and not in game play.
    The switches control display brightness and scroll through modes. These can easily be rewired from the back. For now have added a rear switch to control brightness.
    SimHub must be running for the display to work.

    I think your videos are unique... they are short and to the point... there is no detail explanation but they give you a clear picture or an idea what to do.... just brilliant ! keep them coming.
    People like me who can't afford quality sim racing peripherals will definitely benefit from these kind of videos.

    Thanks for the video, it was really helpfull. Received the parts yesterday, built it today, with a few modification (I didn't solder on the PCB/parts as you did, too afraid). I took some tiny power cables of old PCs, wich plugged perfectly.
    Nox, I just have to bluid a box to put it in.

    • @ShiraanVII
      @ShiraanVII Před 7 lety

      By the way, SimHub is at 5.3.1 BETA at the moment, so, as you say in the description, we gotta take the parameters you enter @4.22 in this video, and enter them like you do for the Tacho Vid', in the Hardware Setting/Open Arduino Tool/Sketch Setup.
      Then, it works perfectly fine on Project Cars, gonna try it with Assetto.
      One more question: will you authorise me to do a video and talk about that on a forum (of course, you got all the credits, as the site, the links will stay the same), but, in French (I am french, and some of my friend would like tto do the same, but english isn't their cup of tea)?!

    very interesting. i had not really looked into how much support there was on the software side for this. guess this will my next project since having gear/speed/revs right on the the wheel would be very nice. i'll see if i can get away with using my current components, but if not, i'll just order the module. i had wanted to build the shifter and ebrake first, but the paddles/button seem to do fine for my use case so i might skip those and build this instead.

    Hey man, awesome project. Could you please tell me where you got that particular tinted acrylic/plastic and what exactly it is called? I have bought a couple different variations off ebay to use with my current gear indicator however they all have a brown tint rather than the blueish color of the one you are using. I would love to find out exactly what kind of tinted acrylic/plastic that is so I can purchase some myself.
    Thank you very much for the project btw, I have wanted to do a custom HUD like this using one of my Arduino boards but never got around to it. Now that you have simplified everything I will be revisiting this project. My goal will be to install some segmented sections and individual LEDS into a custom button plate using an Arduino Nano.

      Hey Seth, the HUD sounds like a good project, I'd like to add more displays and customize it further also. I used tinted perspex, also called plexiglass which I purchased from the electronics shop. It looks blueish on the video but is more a smoke/grey color. Search for - Grey Perspex - 195 x 195 x 3mm.

    Are there like...Different displays you can have on the screen? I'm probably going to make this (it will cost me £15) but I'm not a huge fan of that layout. Eventually I would like a proper one that this guy makes with an LCD screen, but the Nextion screen he uses is kinda hard to get (have to order it from over seas) in the UK and it's expensive, so I might just make this instead for now.

    Could you give me the link for the plastic, and what types of screws, nuts, and drill sizes did you use? How did you cut the plastic?

    Will male to male connector wires work just fine if they are just generic or do they have to be male to female wires that you solder in to it? I only have male to male but everything else is ready so just trying to figure that out

      amstudio 1 Last question, at 1:20 in the video, you point at the 5 "ports" that we have to use, the other 5 are not needed. In total 10 ports. I found a TM1638 that looks the same only difference is that it has only 5 ports, but they have the same names, vcc, grd, stb, clk and dio, and it's the half of the price, that should work aswell right?

      @amstudioprojects  Před 7 lety +2

      I recommend using the same version TM1638 like I did as it has Dual Color LEDS.
