  • Hi everyone! I'm 20 days away from my relocation and short on time to make new videos for us, so I thought I'd share some of the Membership videos for a while to fill in the gaps. This is a commissioned pendant that I did a while ago, it's silent with some nice music, but you can really get a close-up of this style of prong creation... it's onboard the frame, rather than an independent wire for prongs. I hope it inspires you! Thank you for your continued support! Much love! Please read the video description for materials and measurements. xoxo
Hi Members! just slipping this one in as a break. I said in the past that I'd let you guys in on when I do my commissioned pieces. I can't talk during these wraps as they are customer stones and my focus needs to be there, BUT... you have all the skill set to do something like this. You learned how to do prongs in several past videos and this little frame is similar to your Felicity, Otis, Mileva, and Rectangulum framed prong pendants. The skill set to do this is in each one of them and I hope it brings you inspiration! Just work slower, more focused, and double-check bends before you make them. I shape the three main frame wires and then I wrap on the prong wire, as I shape the prongs. I find this way, while probably the hardest way, gets me the very best fit on my prongs. I am using my 3mm Flat nose pliers to create these prongs.
I hope this gives you something to try after you've practiced your copper prong-making and sizing, on the other pendants! I speed up through some of it, I go slow where I feel you can get a really good look at the wires.
This is a faceted Rectangle... Two-tone Ametrine I think? The stone is about 3/4 inch x .5 inch, slightly larger but about this size. The pavilion is about 8mm from the top of the stone.
I am using 16 inches x 3 pieces of 18 gauge, Gold Fill, Square, Soft wires for the frame. The Prong Wire is 8 inches of 18g, GF, Square. The wraps are 22g half-round GF wires. I give really nice closeups and while this is probably not an 'easy' wrap at all, it might be fun to watch!
The prongs are slanted slightly in this one to fit the beveled corners of this stone. It's probably not easy but I do show how I do them the best that I can. Ask questions if you have them! I hope you enjoy watching this! I will try to give you more videos as I complete this one and the others that I have to finish.
Much love! let me know how you feel about seeing stuff like this?

Oh! so I'm going to make some coffee and watch this the whole way through.. I have two of these ametrines... just a wee bit smaller, that I've been wanting to work on that sits really deep.. This is exactly what I need! So happy to learn it from my favorite teacher 🤗

Hugging you so much, Vikki! Thank you for this lovely and uplifting comment! I'm super happy that this little video will help you with your beautiful Ametrines too! Enjoy! I do have a few more deep facet settings, not for square or rectangle but you can also see Dahli for a deep faceted heart stone and a nice bale idea! The bale part should work for your bale wires if you set the body in prong like this video. Have fun!

I’m new to the members group, but not new to working with your tutorials. I absolutely love your work!
