  • We begin the second volume of Tanya known as The Gate of Unity and Faith (Shaar HaYichud Ve'HaEmunah) which explains the oneness and unity of Hashem. In this introduction, the Alter Rebbe explains why we need to understand this subject matter as it is the foundation to developing proper love and awe of Hashem.

Thank you, Rabbi Taub. I really appreciated your explanation about using faith where faith is appropriate. "Learn it, understand as much as you can, and then once your intellect fails, that's where your faith PROPERLY begins." I've read a lot about emuna (faith) but never with that caveat. I like the responsibility it puts on us to do the work.

What I really like is you don't have to be really smart, and you can keep learning over and over again... like it's new 😊

Thank you Rabbi Taub for making the complicated simple so that we understand and then have faith. So refreshing! And dear algorithm: classic Rabbi Taub joke: Past, Present and Future walked into a bar, it was Tense. 😂 Use that in ur data. You’re welcome.

I was wondering in which Tanya translation, version, you prefer to use. I have a Steinsaltz, 1-3, Magerman edition, The practical Tanya 1-3, by Miller, and a Likkutei Amarim Tanya, by Kehot publishing….. if I’m not mistaken I also found the Tanya map on Kehot publishings website. It should be here soon. I also the Daily Tanya app which I’ve listened to, binging, several times, but your Tanya classes are by far the best audio/ video experience I’ve seen. I’m more of a book person, not so much a video person, but I love your Tanya and well, all of your video classes.
And I like the ‘in class’ experience though I’m remote, and would love to be in person, your class audience makes it feel real.
    ❤❤

The Tanya Map was my project. It was the first Tanya project I did. It was over 20 years ago. And I still think it holds up. I made it for myself because I was getting lost when learning Tanya.
Regarding English translations... the Kehos is the official. I go with official. That's just my style.
Or are you talking about commentaries? When it comes to commentaries the gold standard is Lessons in Tanya. Yes, I know there are things that it lacks, but it is the most official. The Rebbe actually looked it over.

@@SoulWords You did an amazing job with the map and I think it holds up and will continue to holdup, I ordered one to frame and have near my study area. I just did a search for the Lessons in Tanya and found it on Kehot website, 🥰.... I had seen a video somewhere that you were speaking of the Tanya map, I had wondered how to obtain the one I saw on the wall behind you in your videos, I was so very thankful for that video. I am so very thankful for your videos over all, your teaching, style and approach, I make it to the end of your videos several times, as I often rewatch them to level up. Much like reading, re read and gain from what I over looked or didn't grasp the previous times. ......... Shalom
