In answer to your question 80,000 at the old Wembley Stadium,and that's by no means the biggest concerts,around 250,000 at Rio,and yes Freddie would do impromptu moments,and I Want To Break Free written by John Deacon
There are a couple of HILARIOUS live versions where Fred comes onstage in a lady's wig, a "form-fitting" pink ladies top... and sporting a GIGANTIC "bosom" that rivaled Dolly Parton!
One of these is at Rock In Rio in 1985 (The FIRST night - January 11/12, NOT the second night a wk later.)

He's still amazing and my all time favorite singer, but it's sad that at this point in his career the nodules on his vocal cords made it impossible for him to hit some of the higher notes. If you listen to the official versions you'll be able to tell where he modified the songs a bit.
