Many of the students still only used to Jazz with and no imagination. = I shocked with Helter Skelter (Scotish way of turning home after too nuch booze through rough landscape, I told them?). got some kind of good grade and some followers, then I took over the School Festivities and abandoned Jazz by playing Hang on to a Dream by the Nice, the spell was broken to get to Helter Skelter as well.=alex=me next year with Solex to London and sleeping Hyde Park after seeing Premiere Woodstock and Easy Rider in 1 night.=Bobbies kicked me out at 06.00, so rest of sleeping in Victoria Line (Metro Loop) .=Now Tuscany after 200.000 km of hitchhyking.

ELVIS IS AND HAS BEEN THE KING. Every woman wanted to be with him every guy wished he was Elvis. He was incredibly good looking. Fantastic voice. His Charisma is off the charts. HE IS THE KING ....no one else is even in the room.

Elvis sang over 700 songs, so you are only touching the tip of the iceberg, as they say. He has Amazing vocals & Amazing control. Even when he’s dancing, he can still sing without his voice wobbling all over the place. He has such power in his voice as well. I read a comment some time ago, where some guy said that Elvis’ voice wasn’t strong. Well I don’t know what Elvis he was listening to. It certainly was not the same Elvis that I’ve been listening to for almost sixty years. His voice has such depth & velvety richness too, & when he brings that raspiness in, it’s just Wow! Thanks for another great Reaction. I feel that we have added another fan to the growing number of new Elvis fans, 47 years after his death. And he thought he might be forgotten when he was gone. Hell no!

Jane H commenting ….. It’s so hard to watch this 1977 concert, which was his very last concert. He was so sick, but he still managed to charm with that wonderful charisma & that so beautiful smile. He was suffering & died just 8 weeks after this concert. The day he died, he was preparing to begin a gruelling concert tour, so I’m glad God took him before he began on that tour, because it was really costing him physically, with a very enlarged failing heart & liver, & several other serious health issues. He died at Graceland, the home he loved. He was just 42 years old, 4 years younger than the age his mother had died, of a heart attack. Then recently we lost his only child, Lisa Marie, of a cardiac arrest at 54 years old. It’s just so sad. Thank you for your respectful Reaction.

This was a tribute to Martin Luther King, after he had been assassinated. Elvis felt deeply upset about this senseless act & wanted to do this song to give encouragement for a brighter future where there would be no racial prejudice. He grew up with strict segregation laws & as a teenager at the start of his singing career, he flouted those rules & was seen as a threat. So he was drafted into the army & shipped off to post-war Germany for two years. He didn’t perform at all for that two years, but he bought a piano & a guitar & would sing in the house he had rented for his father ….his beloved mother had died of a heart attack at 46 years old, when he was drafted into the army, & he never got over losing her like that.

Jane H commenting ….. A 21 year old Elvis, just 3 years into his career & already he’s taking command of that stage. I never know how he manages to keep in tune, with all that screaming going on. He certainly does know how to work the crowd, which at his young age, is something special. Elvis has a very playful side to him, which you will see in most of his live performances. He also likes to pop a funny line of words into certain songs, & he can be a real comic on stage …. I saw him in one video performance catch a bra that some lady had thrown at him, & he continued singing as he draped the bra over his head. His musicians have to keep their eye on him, because he sometimes suddenly throws something in & they have to keep up with him. He loves his fans & enjoys making them happy. Simon & Garfunkel were in the audience & when Elvis finished, Simon turned & said “Well how the hell are we going to top that?” & that is the highest praise that could be given. Elvis always puts so much passion & emotion & soul into his songs. He really feels what he is singing. That is why he was a worldwide superstar & sold over a billion records. And he is so versatile. He favourite genre is Gospel & he sings it for hours after his concerts, as it helps him to wind down & relax. A wonderful humanitarian whose generosity helped so many people & so many charities.

There is nothing going down on stage, that Elvis doesn’t know about. He doesn’t just walk on stage while he has producers doing this & that. He does it all himself, & that is what is remarkable about Elvis, or I should say, one of the things that is remarkable about Elvis. I was going to request that you do this song, & then spotted it. Over a billion people watched this live concert in Hawaii, because it was the First Ever live concert to be beamed around the world by satellite, with 36 countries watching it. I watched it in New Zealand, & Elvis looked & sounded Magnificent. It was hard to imagine that he was actually on stage performing as we were watching. Just Amazing.

Elvis certainly is a Legend. He had it all. He loved entertaining & he loved his fans. This was a fun song & Elvis enjoyed being playful on stage, & he had the moves, which caused a lot of contention when he first shot to fame as a 19 year old in 1954. He had charisma in bucket loads & he had Southern Charm, because he was a Southern Gent. People said when he walked into a room, everyone could feel the energy coming off him, before they turned to see him. A fantastic performer & he had a wide range of songs to choose from …. Over 700. He even sang in Spanish & could sing in several other languages, He made over 31 Hollywood movies too. He was just an Amazing man.

Elvis is definitely the King of Rock ‘n Roll. At just 19 years old in 1954 he introduced a total revolutionary style of music ….. He danced on stage as he sang & played guitar ….. ‘hips swivelling’ & ‘gyrating his legs’ as said by one outraged lady. Up to that point, singers basically stood still when they sang. Elvis always said if he couldn’t move, he couldn’t sing. That was his style. People say he stole black music, but in actual fact, Elvis was raised in a very poor black community from the age of 7 until he was 14. His friends were the black children who lived nearby, & black music & Gospel were what he grew up with, & naturally that was what influenced him with his music & style. He didn’t steal it. He grew up with it. His skin might have been white, but everything he knew & loved was black. And he took that ‘black’ music to a white audience, in a place where strict segregation rules were in place, & no black artist could have got that music out to a much wider audience. Elvis, as a teenager, was loved by young people but hated by their outraged parents. He went through hell but he refused to compromise his music & style. When he was televised, he was censored from the waist down, because so many people complained. Elvis paved the way for singers to develop their own distinctive style, thus giving them freedom to express themselves through their music. He was a very courageous young man, & he paid dearly for his refusal to compromise, when authorities had him drafted into the army & shipped off to post-war Germany. His beloved mother was so distressed that she got very sick & then died of a heart attack, & that affected Elvis for the rest of his life. Don’t believe most derogatory/controversial things you hear. Some people just want to tear an Icon down, but the truth is that Elvis had such a caring, giving heart & he always wanted to give his fans the very best of himself. He had passion. He had soul. He had pure God-given talent.
